1 Betrayed part 1

I can't remember a night so quiet; so eery it makes me uncomfortable. I can't quite put my finger on why tonight, to other nights, feels so different. Could it be because of the full moon that's lighting up the sky?

No... Such a beautiful night and yet, I feel like something bad is going to happen.

Today, like so many previous days, my brother and I should have went to our family-owned military shooting range.

What started as a family activity became something of a family tradition since my brother, who is two years younger than me, and I were little kids.

My parents would take us to their military shooting range once every month to test our ability in both shooting and sparring with the use of fake guns and martial arts. These tests were my parents' way of deciding who would inherit their legacy and military soldiers.

This year, I turned 23 so my parents decided to retire from the military and travel the world. With them being gone, my brother BuBu, which is short for BuXiao, and I hadn't gone to the shooting range during the day because he convinced me that it would be much more interesting and fun to test our range at night.

"He should have been here by now", I think to myself.

To impede the overwhelming silence, I let off a round of ammunition before looking around for him again. Looking around, I feel a chill at the nape of my neck. Bang! Bang! Bang!

Three gunshots are still ringing through the night when I come back to reality to realize that I've been shot. I'm wondering what happened as I fall to the ground and look up to see my shooter.

"Bubu?" I whisper while choking on my bile of blood and bleeding out. I can feel my body turning cold with every passing second.

"It's a dream...It's a dream...It's a dream!", I repeat over and over to combat the confusion setting in. Yet, looking closer, my heart shatters as I look at the sneer on my brother's lips.
