17 Chapter#17: Tangled in love

Jenifer seemed happy. She was having some feelings inside her. Those feelings were not joy, not happiness nor fear. They were beyond any feelings which Jenifer ever had.

Jenifer called Lauren and told her about the day, "Today was the best day ever."

"What happened today? You seem happy enough." inspected Lauren.

"Me and Jack took a day off." told Jenifer.

"It's just a day off Jen. What are you so excited for?"

"We went to my favorite theme park. We had a lot of fun."

"Is this why you're so happy and excited?"

"He was so caring. He even gifted me a lava lamp, my favorite and a stone bracelet too. It looks so charming."

"You're happy because Jack gifted you a lava lamp and a stone bracelet?" Lauren laughed.

"You're not getting it Laur. He still remembered that I liked these things and guess what, he even ordered my favorite food."

"That's because he like you and you know that Jen…wait a second…are you into him?"

"No!...I mean I…I don't know."

"Oh my!"

"I'm so not into that guy."

"My queen's tangled in love." teased Lauren.

"No she's not!" Jenifer pressed.

"Yes she is!"

"Okay! Okay! I think I am. What should I do now?"

"I never thought that a girl like you would fall for someone."

"Why not Laur?" Jenifer inquired.

"Because you never got attracted by anyone. I think Jack's love is much stronger which pulled you towards him Jen."

"I sure am choosy. I don't know how or when it happened but I think I've started to like him."

"You should go tell him."

"Not yet."

"But why not Jen? He loves you and you love him too now. What's the matter Jen? What's stopping you?"

"I think I should wait for the right moment."

"Keep waiting and you'll see some other girl taking away your boy." Lauren laughed.

"I'm so confused right now Laur. What if he doesn't like me anymore?"

"Well I am hundred and one percent sure that he still likes you."

"I hope." sighed Jenifer.

"You should probably wear that bracelet every time."

"Well, I'm kind of a wearing it right now." smirked Jenifer.

"You're making me laugh now." Lauren teased.

"Uhhhh…stop teasing me Laur."

"So, how are Dalton and Kate?"

"They both are okay. Just a bit scared of everything." told Jenifer. "I almost forgot to tell you that Medora has started to live with us."

"Are you serious?" Lauren got shocked.

"Yeah and I'm happy that she has thought to move on."

"That's great. Now there are two devils in the same house."

"There's a place left for you Laur." howled Jenifer.

"Jenifer!" Della called from downstairs.

"Laur ive to go. Mom's calling me."

"Okay then girl, take care."

Jenifer hung up and went to her mother. She told her mother and Medora about her day. Della was happy to see her daughter smile after a long time.

At night before going to sleep, Jenifer told everything to Medora. She expressed everything how she felt.

"You should tell him." advised Medora.

"I can't. I'm waiting for the right moment." uttered Jenifer.

"What right moment?"

"He should tell me first if he loves me or not."

"Well Jen, the choice is yours. Do what you think is right for you."

Jenifer couldn't sleep. She kept thinking about Jack all the time. She went outside the house and started to gaze at the starry sky. She felt the clod breeze blowing.

"Jenifer! What on Earth are you doing outside in the middle of the night?" Medora found her.

"I couldn't sleep." Jenifer plucked a flower.

"Come inside Jen. It's too cold out here." Medora shook while speaking.

They both went to the room and laid down to sleep again. Jenifer took out the flower and started to pluck out the petals and spitting out the words, "He loves me…" down went a petal, "…he loves me not…" down went another petal.

"Jenifer just go to sleep now. Don't overthink." Medora tried to make Jenifer sleep.

Jenifer still couldn't sleep. She rolled here and there on the bed. She heard a voice. It was like someone hit something on the window. Jenifer got up to see what made the noise. Medora was asleep. Jenifer looked out from the window, it was Jack.

"What are you doing here?" Jenifer asked in a slow voice from her window.

"Come down here and I'll tell you." Jack replied.

"It's midnight. Are you crazy?" exclaimed Jenifer.

"I'm waiting outside. Come if you want to." uttered Jack.

Jenifer put her jacket on and went outside the house. She looked here and there but found no one. "Jack!" yelled Jenifer.

"Keep it low. I'm here." whispered Jack from behind while grabbing from her waist.

"You wanted to tell me something?" Jenifer turned around and asked.

"Come with me." Jack held Jenifer's hand tightly and started to walk, pulling Jenifer with him.

Jenifer asked Jack several times that where was he taking her but he only told her to stay quiet and that she'll soon know.

After a long walk they entered the woods. Jenifer got scared, "Jack why are we going into the woods?"

Jack remained quiet. He stopped, got Jenifer's hand out of hold and faced Jenifer.

"Jenifer there are some words stuck inside me I need to tell you." Spoke Jack.

"I'm listening." uttered Jenifer.

"hmmm…" Jack hummed while looking at the ground and he looked up into Jenifer's eyes and expressed in a loud tone, "Jen I love you!"

Jenifer's eyes opened wide. They twinkled and were filled with tears. Her heart started to pound much faster. This was the best moment of her life but then at an instant Jack took out a knife from his back pocket and started to cut from his fore head till his left cheek.

He then licked the deep red blood on the knife and his tongue then also got cut. His mouth was filled with blood. Jenifer got struck on the ground. She couldn't believe what she was seeing.

"Till death!" yelled Jack in a horrified voice and stroked the knife in his belly. The blood splashed from his mouth to Jenifer's face. Jenifer screamed and started to wipe off the blood from her face.

"Calm down Jen! Calm down!" exclaimed Medora.

Jenifer found herself on her bed. She quickly got up to the mirror to see her face but there was not a single spot of blood. She sat on the chair and started to cry.

"Jenifer, it was just a nightmare." solaced Medora.

"Nightmares! Which kill me from inside." saying this Jenifer got up from the chair and went to have her breakfast.
