3 Chapter#03: Family dinner

The noodles looked delicious. Their twirls could make the mouth of one watery. The sauce on the top almost looked like a red river.

"Yum spaghetti!" expressed Jenifer.

"Your favorite." smiled Della.

"Thank you Mom." applauded Jenifer.

"Mom why don't you cook my favorite food?" Kate claimed.

"I thought you liked everything." uttered Della.

"I was kidding." laughed Kate.

They all were having a great dinner but Dalton was not eating. He was only twirling the noodles around his fork.

"Dalton why are you not eating?" asked John.

"I'm not in the mood." sighed Dalton.

"The mood?" inspected Jenifer.

"I mean I don't feel good." told Dalton, "can I please go to my room?"

"Sure honey." allowed Della, "I'll bring the food upstairs."

Dalton slowly got up and went to his room upstairs. He seemed as if he had been working for days.

"I hope he's okay." claimed Jenifer.

"He will be soon." Della spoke.

"So, Jen tell me about your work." John spoke out, "how's it going?"

"It's going great but I'm a little fed up." told Jenifer.

"This happens if you keep on doing the same thing every day." said John.

"Why have you come back? You haven't told us yet." asked Della.

"It's kind of a promotion." told Jenifer.

"What kind of promotion?" interrupted Kate.

"I don't know. They asked me to come here to work for another paper I guess. I have to do what they tell me." spoke Jenifer.

"So what work do you do?" asked Kate.

"I'm not in the mood to joke right now." exclaimed Jenifer.

"I was just asking." Kate said.

"You seriously don't know?"

"Why would I ask you then?"

"Your sister is a journalist, like a reporter." told John.

"A reporter, hmmm…"Kate uttered, "I knew it."

"Don't act crazy Katy." pressed Jenifer.

"It's your hobby Jen." Kate laughed.

"What hobby?" pressed Jenifer.

"Your hobby to report." Kate continued, "Like you used to report everything me and Dalton used to do."

"Stop fighting you both." exclaimed Della, "Not on the table."

"But she started it at the first place." cried Jenifer'

Kate was laughing. The three siblings had great love for each other but there was no one born who could fight or tease more than theses three.

"Have you changed the apartment yet?" asked John.

"I was going to but then I was told to come here so I changed my mind." Jenifer told.

"Kate I was thinking that you could join your sister." told John.

"No thanks Dad." Kate spoke, "I don't like to report what people do."

"At least I'm not a lazy freak like you who only sleeps and eats." teased Jenifer.

"You both stop it now." pressed Della.

They both laughed. Jenifer told about her work, her place where she lived and her friends. She told about her night outs with her chums and all the fun she had, "but the real fun is to be home." she expressed.

"The food is delicious."

"How could it not be? Your Mom cooks amazing." uttered John.

"Okay I'm blushing now." smiled Della.

"Don't worry Dell." spoke John, "It won't rain much from a little lie."

They all laughed.

Jenifer was so happy to be home. The giggles, the laughers; she loved it but something was eating her from inside. It was her thoughts. She was all the time thinking about Dalton that why and what was happening. "Why the same fear?" she thought. She knew that there was something wrong.

They all finished up with the dinner. John went to watch TV, Kate went to do the dishes and Della was going to take the food for Dalton.

"I'll take it for him." Jenifer took the dinner for Dalton. She decided to talk to him and get to the roots of the matter. She wanted to investigate that what actually was happening with them.
