Chapter 10

I should relax for a few days since I have been cooped up in the smithy for a long time. He stretched his legs and arms wide as he yawned. "Damn, that hits the spot." He continued forward to the house that he built to get some shut-eye.

The following days he spent playing with his sister and brothers as he spared with Elijah and curved some horses with Klause and taught Kol the art of potion making. In his free time, he was thinking about what will happen when he is turned, because now he found two ways he could do magic. the first was through borrowing from nature to cast his spells. the other was the core deep in his soul which not only absorbs energy from the surroundings to evolve his body but also from the people he kills to cast his spells from the drawing its magic. Soul energy, life energy, and magic are the energies he absorbed from humans so far. He still doesn't know the limits of what he can do with this core. A major flaw with using the stored energy from the core is it can't last forever. Perhaps the dragons and other supernatural creatures will help him in that regard.

He decided to make enhanced armor for his men and get them ready by tortu...ahem training them to face something that is by far stronger than them. I raised their strength by using potions and runes so they never had any challenges fighting regular humans. They have been feeling themselves lately as they killed and flaunted their strength anytime they went raiding this past year. I already tinkered with their body from the cells to organs and finally brainwashed them to be loyal to me. I thought of what they are going to face soon, so I called the captains of each squad. After a few minutes, they arrived as they got into formation with their respective squadmates behind them.

They put their hand on their chest as they all shouted "awoo." their voices were so loud that you could hear them from a mile away. I looked at them for a few moments as I inspected them properly.

"I hear you have been flaunting your strength everywhere you go this past year." I scanned them as my eyes turned colder.

"What are our rules as blood warriors." I raised my voice as they flinched from hearing my tone, as it was oozing killing intent and cold air that made their knees weak, but they held on as they didn't want to experience the wrath of their commander as they all shouted together;

"We never draw attention to ourselves."

"We kill swiftly even if we're facing ants."

"Blood, gore, and discipline above all."

"Loyalty to the commander above any."

The space became silent again as you could hear the heavy breathing of the blood warriors. I looked at them as I reflected on what the next journey will bring for my warriors.

"I took you all under my wing as lesser men, despised by your fellow men and I forged you into something more." I breathed as I slowly walked in between the squads.

"You never had anything to your name, left to rot in the darkness by your families and fellow villagers."

"I took you under my wing fed you, put a roof over your heads. I asked you not for your life, but for your loyalty."

"I summoned you today to augment you more and start the next phase."

"It will be brutal, nothing you have experienced so far because from now on you will no longer be hunting only feeble men but monsters that were long forgotten"

"So from now on discipline will be enforced brutally as I will not entertain selfishness in my army."

"A single mistake will mean the lives of your fellow brothers from here on out, and the punishment will be the execution of the whole squad."

My words were cold as they shivered from the last piece of the news I gave them as everybody straightened themselves subconsciously.

I didn't need idiots who only knew how to fight for themselves. They were stronger as I never rained them in while they were fighting regular humans. I had to correct it before we moved to the next phase and any mishap can cause my investment to die without fulfilling its purpose. I couldn't let that happen I worked too hard and invested a great deal of time into this project.

A lot of my test subjects died but my results were improving as my magic did also. I used my magic and runes to enhance the cells of my test rats as I studied the human genome by dissecting the failed products and improved it on my next trials. It took a while but I managed to make super soldiers whose response, strength, and agility were greater than any human being. That was the first phase, the second phase will be to increase the human body level so they will be able to hunt a vampire at the age of 100 and below on their own. Many of them will not survive but that will be okay, I will make do with these results for now. That will all change when I turn as I will need two separate armies. One enhanced or super humans and the other my sired vampires.

I started by testing their limits and breaking every bone in their bodies and healing them completely only to do it again. I increased the weights, now it wasn't only bracelets even their clothes were heavy. I trained with them to make sure they didn't lose hope and died as seeing me training gave them the illusion of being one family.

Every day we will wake up at 3 in the morning and carry weights of 50kgs on each limb and on their clothes as well. The shirt was 50kgs so the trousers/pants, socks, and shoes were also 50kgs each. Ran 100km on a steep road every morning and evening to build their endurance and stamina. When they got comfortable I add the weights, after each run in the morning was followed by a swim in the cold freezing wide river. They swam from one end to another which was approximately 5km wearing their gears. They pushed themselves as I made sure nobody drowned in the river this early in phase 2.

There were 200 men by the start of phase 2 and in 6 months over half of them died during the operations and enhancement. By the time I finished this phase I had 60 fresh blood-killing ferocious warriors. They were all 220cm in height and had steel liked muscles.

They all entered their formation as they had resolute faces and there were no emotions visible on their face as they all looked ahead.

"Look to your right and left, you are all that survived this phase. remember them, their sacrifice, dedication, blood, tears, and sweat, and when you are out there fighting our enemies carry your fallen brothers so they can also taste the blood as we reap apart anybody who stands in our way."

"Do you understand, blood rippers?"

"Awooooooo"
