1 Prologue

22 September 2342

A game company by the name of V World Corp invented a serum that will stop aging. Instead of selling the serum around the world, they decided they would invite volunteers to live forever in their new game. This new game was going to revolutionize gaming as a whole, being the first fully realistic full dive game ever made.

"Now just sign here, here, and here."

"Alright. Is that all?"

"Yep, but do you understand once you get in the game you will be in there forever?"

"I always liked games, and it's not like I am leaving anything behind."

"I see. Well then let's get you in the game shall we?"

"That would be great, thanks."

The woman dressed in professional wear started to lead me down a hall behind her desk. She had silky straight black hair, standing about a head shorter than me. The more we walked the more awkward the silence became.

"So, how many other people did you get to volunteer for this whole thing?"

"I'm not allowed to say, but you would be surprised by the number."

"I haven't heard a lot about the game do you mind filling me in a little? Maybe dropping a few beginner tips?"

"Well, you will begin at one of the many spawn points in the world, normal players will first spawn at the closest one to there log in on earth."

"Is the world the same size as earth then?"

"It's actually more than ten times the size of earth, but a lot of the world has monsters and dungeons."

"You mentioned normal players a bit ago, what do you mean by that?"

"In the game you and all the other volunteers will be put inside the same world, and in about two weeks the game will release to the public."

"Do I get any thing special for volunteering my life away to the game?"

"You will be what the developers have named an original mage."

"Would you mind expanding on that answer?"

"Every volunteer will become an original mage each with a different element. The players will only be able to gain magic from an original, but if a volunteer teaches magic to player that player will become a 2nd generation mage. This means he will gain experience for his magic skills at half the speed of an original. If a 2nd generation teaches magic the 3rd generation will gain half of the experience of a 2nd, and so on."

"Is there any benefit to me teaching my element?"

"If you were to become a guild leader or member, it would be good to strengthen the people in your guild."

"That makes sense."

"Any other questions?"

"I should be good, I would rather learn the rest as I go."

Soon enough we made it to a sliding door, and once she swiped her card in front of the door it opened. The only thing that seemed to be inside of the room was a pod like thing in the middle of the room.

"Where is the immortality serum I heard so much about?"

"You will receive it once you have logged in."

As I walked toward the pod I couldn't feel a single thing tying me to this world. I got in the pod, while it closed I felt a wave of relief wash over me. I would never have to see this world again.
