6 6. The First Year of My Life

A flash of green light shot itself out of Voldermort's wand and hit the young Harry Potter.

As the spell connected with the baby's body, as soon as it lay it's dark magic against the body's flesh, the spell rebounded and struck the original caster of the spell, Voldermort.

While I stared into Voldermort's eyes and as he cast the killing curse, he had a crazy smile on his face, as if killing a baby was an amazing feat of his that should be praised with glory. Then it happened a green vortex of energy shot across the room from the tip of his wand, to find itself upon my skin. I knew I was protected, yet I was still nervous, so I used my mind arts to calm myself and in my calm I had great control over my body as I made myself still, for every cell of my body was screaming at me to dodge, but I did not.

I was rewarded with pain, a mere split second of pain that was almost as bad as the soul shredding, but not completely, it was as if the spell was trying to rip the soul from my body, but it could not, because the moment it touched my flesh it rebounded and hit Voldermort, and it didn't just rebound, it grew strengthened, and as it fell upon Voldermort's surprised figure, it did not merely kill him, it distengrated his entire body, yet there was something still left behind in the cloud of dust.

A spectre, nay a wraith was left floating whereupon Voldermort did once stand.

As the wraith floated, it's first action was to attack and possess the young baby in front of it.

Yet once again it found itself repelled by the ancient magic imbued within young Harry Potter's flesh and it found itself fleeing, but not all of itself, for when the curse hit it's very being, a part of itself had split, and merged with the baby, and that part of itself had found it's way onto the boys forehead, as a scar in the shape of a lightning bolt.

Harry felt yet another wave of pain as Voldermort tried to possess him, yet failed.

As the wraith of Voldermort fled, Harry quickly utilized his mind arts to capture and seperate the bit of Voldermort's soul that he had left behind.

Alas he did not act fast enough for it seemed the second the piece of soul had come into contact with Harry's own soul, it had grafted a small part of itself onto Harry's soul. Not enough to do any lasting damage, but enough to be inconvenient to the young wizard.

As he contained the vile dark soul of Voldermort, he found some new language had been born in his mind, the language of the snakes.

After imprisoning the soul as best he could, he then divided the sections of his mind that were corrupted with the dark souls touch. He then separated them from the core of his being and stored them away to be looked upon later, where he would try to purify and study them to the best of his ability. That included the part with parseltongue, which made him lose the ability, but could be reconnected at anytime of his choosing, with none to little side-effects, because Voldermort's soul was so pitiful and weak, and his was whole, and much more powerful in comparison.

After finishing Harry then waited, he waited for his godfather and the half giant to show up and take him to Dumbledore, who would in turn take him to his new home, or prison.

As I waited, watching the flames in the surroundings recede into nothing but embers and sparks, not too long after the flames had completely died down, I heard a loud sound of a mechanical engine, I then heard the sound cut off, which I assumed was him landing and turning off the engine.

I then heard someone coming up the stairs, and Sirius Black emerged in front of me.

He then gently picked me up, in the smouldering ruins of my house, and took me downstairs and outside. As we stood within the rubble of part of my house, Hagrid arrived, we could see his large from walking towards us from the road, where he came from, I know not.

Hagrid walked up to Sirius and said "Hand 'em over Sirius."

Sirius responded with "I think not Hagrid, I'm his godfather!"

Hagrid groughly said "Thems Dumbeldore's orders."

Sirius looked conflicted but upon thinking about the situation he said "If Dumbledore thinks it's best, I trust him."

Hagrids voice rumbled "I'll be takin' 'em to a safe location, where I'm meeting up with Dumbledore."

Sirius looked sad "I'll meet with Dumbledore later, for now I need to deal with a rat problem, but you can take my motorcycle it will be faster."

As Hagrid held the baby gently but firmly, he got upon the motorcycle, and started the engine. Then as he drove away, the motorcycle lifted up, higher and higher until it flew off into the midnight sky.

Sirius transformed into a large black dog and started to sniff the ground for the scent of a rat. After having his nose stuck to the ground for awhile he finally picked up the scent ,he ran farther and further, first through trees, then streets, until he came upon a rat hiding in an alley.

In a place far away, Hagrid had just arrived at the destination given yo him by none other the Great Wizard Dumbledore.

Hagrid got off the motorcycle and walked up to Dumbledore, who had Professor Mcgonagal following beside him. Dumbledore looked at Hagrid and said "Hagrid, I can assume you both had a safe trip?"

Hagrid answered "Righr you are Headmaster Dumbledore, the lil' tike fell asleep just as we were flying over Bristol."

As Hagrid answered Dumbledore's question he handed the baby over to the professor, who in turn put him in a basket, with a thin blanket covering him, and then placing a letter atop the baby, before placing him and the basket ontop of the front steps of a house, owned by one Vernon Dursley.

Hagrid started to cry and sniffled "We don't really have to leave him here do we?"

Dumbledore answered "I'm afraid it's for the boys own good, Hagrid."

Professor Mcgonagal sharp voice cut in immediately after "But these are muggles! They know nothing about the Wizarding World! And this boy in the Wizarding World there's not a Wizard nor Witch who won't know his name, he'll be famous!"

Dumbledore responded by answering in a wise old tone "Exactly, better he grow up far away from that, and live some semblance of a normal life, until it's time for him to return to the Wizarding World."

Hagrid was still crying, and Professor Mcgonagal looked worried, but after hearing Dumbledore's answer, her face looked less worried, and then they all interlocked arms with Hagrid on one side, Professor Mcgonagal on the other, and Dumbledore in the middle, then as if by magic they just disappeared within thin air, like they were never there to begin with.

Harry was pissed, after being dumped at the Dursley's doorstep he had been left there all night! If he wasn't a magical baby he would've died! Luckily he was able to warm himself using magic, he didn't have a spell, but he just visualized his magic flowing through his entire body like a raging river of magma and that combined with his will and intent started to hear up his body.

It wasn't a spell but it was one of the very few ways he had cast a spell by pure instinct, and he was learning more each time. He only hoped that eventually he would be able to see and sense magic eventually, because that would help in learning all he could about magic, plus it would be an extra sense, that he could perceive the world through.

As the first rays of sunlight were spreading across the sky, he heard the sound of a door opening behind him, and then "WHAT THE BLOODY HELL IS THIS!!!"
