LIFE and Family

Hi, my name is Issac Gray and this is my story of how I figured out the universe through a game.

(From the Author: Warning you now that the story will which between first and third person. If it is in the first person it will say "I" if it's in the third it will wither say Issac or his in-game name)

On February 28, 2030, the company Silver Incorporated announced the release of the first ever full virtual reality game, LIFE. It was said to give anyone a chance to be anyone they want: a knight, mage, warlock, blacksmith, merchant, and a list of a thousand more roles in the game. It was said to be released in two years.

Half a year has passed since the announcement of LIFE, Silver Incorporated has released several trailers for the game. The first was a duel between what looked like a seraph and a demon. These two beings were locked in combat. With the seraph using a spear with what appeared to be holy or light magic and the demon using a halberd with evil or dark magic. The combat scene lasted for about 15 seconds and then text appeared on the screen saying, "Play LIFE and be whoever you want." The next scene was of a group of magicians casting a magic circle. The build of magical was intense with runes swirling around the magic spell. After the spell was cast a bright white flash those same words appeared on the screen: "Play LIFE World Online and be whoever you want." The final scene was of a blacksmith crafting a sword with runes and formation going down the length and breadth of the blade. After the sword was crafted the smith thrust the blade into a portal he created and the same text appeared on the screen. After these three scenes, all information about LIFE was cut from the public.

During the next year of a lack of information of LIFE, I was working on my research of how gravity works in the universe. After the past 10 years of my research, I have found that gravity is actually the fourth dimension in the universe. After figuring this out I went on to figure out how time works. It turns out that time is not linear it can be warped with a strong enough gravitational pull on it. The same day I can to this realization a notification popped up on my screen. It said that Silver Incorporated released a new preview for LIFE. I opened my computer and played the video. The screen stated black, then slowly a white spot started to blink. It started pinking slowly than over time began to blink faster and faster until it began to rapidly expand. After the expansion began it didn't stop until the entire screen started to pulse white. Then in an instant, this pulsing stopped. It appeared that time froze in place. A second later a best of color appeared on the screen. After the color burst, the screen panned out and we say what looks like 81 layers of universe staked on top of each other. Then, we heard a voice. It said "I created the universe with 81 different planes, nine higher, 24 middle, and 48 lower. These planes each have their own culture and magical nature. Outside of these planes, there are many fragments or planes with bridges between these planes each with their own power threshold to cross. Within these worlds you can be whatever you choose, now go explore LIFE and create your own legend." In the description of the video, it said that to play the game it takes a one-time cost of $1000 US. After I found this out I instantly pre-ordered the game. Thought my life I have been fascinated with magic and how it worked and this is my opportunity to figure it out.

After this announcement and pre-ordering of the game. I had to go back into my work, and as February 28, 2032, approached I finally quantified both times and gravity. This achievement responded thought the world and the name of Issac Gray were known to all scientists across all fields. My quantification of time and gravity was released to the world one week before LIFE would go live, and so after the now almost ten and a half years of my research, I now have a chance to re-enter into real society. For my research, I shut myself away from the world with my only communications being by a computer system I designed myself. My lab has no cameras in it and all my documents were handwritten. I also built myself a super calculator. All of these precautions were taken so none of my research could be stolen in any way shape or form. Since I had completed my research I left the lab for the first time since I started my research, I had two weeks left until LIFE launched.

After leaving the lab I went to San Fransico where I am from. Once I got there the first thing I did was buy a house because even though I think that my family still lives in San Fransico I'm not really sure. It has been about five years since I have contacted them, so I called my mom. I stayed on the phone with her for the next three hours talking about what I had been doing and what I will be doing from now on. At the end of the call, she invited me over to have dinner and catch up with the rest of the family. After I finished the call with my mom I had about five more hours until I had to meet them for dinner, so I thought it prudent to clean myself up. When I was in my lab I never cut my hair and all my clothes are the same as the ones from when I entered, so I went on a shopping spree. I bought about $40,000 worth of clothing and gifts for my family. During this time I got all the necessary things done like a haircut. Once I was finished with everything I had to do I left for my childhood home. The Gray family home was enormous, being right outside of San Fransico it takes up about ten huge plots of land, one might consider it a mega mansion. I housed all of my family from my grandfather and grandmother and all of their kids and grandchidren and great-grandchildren. In total, about a hundred people lived in the house togehter. The dinner that night was a huge affair, it took place in the biggest room in the mansion and everyone in my whole family came. I went around and greeted everyone besides my immediate family first. Then I saw my family again. our family is one of the smallest in the entire Gray household: with my sister, brother, mom, and dad. My Dads name is Jasper Gray, he is what you would consider attractive and is about 6'1" but he is impossible smart in business. He is on the boards of several of the worlds most predominate businesses and is one of the smartest people you will ever meet. My mom, Lily, on the other hand, is gorgeous and about 5'5". After she married my dad she began to help him found a technological research company focusing on bio enhancing humans. My sister, Athena, is five years younger than me, born in 2005, she followed after my mother in almost every way. When we here younger I would joke that she was a mini mom. My brother, Lance, was also younger being born in 2003. Like Athena, my brother takes after my father in almost every way. I turned out to be a mix of both my parents, being the oldest born in 2000, I took what I consider the best traits from my parents. As I grew up I began to enjoy both science and math more and more and eventually I started my research. During the dinner, I caught up with my family and I loved getting to be involved in their lives again.

After dinner, I was talking with my brother and sister and I asked them if they were going to play LIFE. When we all were kids one of the things we had most in common was our love for games. After I asked them both of them told me that they had need avid gamers for the past five years and were extremely excited to play LIFE. After I found this out I was ecstatic because I have found that games are exponentially more fun when you play with people you are close to. Time then flew by getting to know my family again and relaxing at home, and sooner than you would guess it was February 28th, the day LIFE would launch. That morning a drone came to our house delivering over ten identical packages to our door all saying Silver Incorporated on the side of them. As we all opened the boxes we found what looked to be a motercycle helmet all blacked out witha transusent sceen where the visor should go adn a cable running out the back of it with plug on the end of it. As a read the instructions I went and pluged my helment into the outlet and lowered it onto my head.
