Chapter 9: Dungeon Bosses
Agatha was now understanding the E+ modifier that was implied for this dungeon. This was a no ordinary dungeon from what have they seen and experience since they entered. This was different from those E rank dungeons that they have experience in the past.
If Agatha would sort it into a rank based on her assessment, she could tell that this was definitely a D rank. Slimes, Strange Rabbits, Wolves, Boar and Skeletons– This dungeon has a mix variety of monsters. The strange entity that call itself the dungeon master has a high standards. E? Definitely not. Considering on what kind of monsters have they encountered.
Those mob monsters that they have encountered, especially those Skeletons are eccentric. Skeleton Archer, Lancer, Saber, Rider, Caster, Assassin, Shielder and Berserker. A monster that was sorted out in strange classes. That was sorted out just like the hunters but also a little bit different. Each of those monsters has their own prominent role just like them.
Confronting those Skeletons was a struggle. They have discovered some eccentric and surprising things when it comes to attacks. For example, why does her attacks doesn't work as she effectively thought on those Lancers? Why did Samson could easily one shot them? She was also a D rank. Through when attacking archers, she could defeat them as easily compared to Samson. The same could also be said for their other members with the exception of their Tankers.
It was odd and strange for their opinion. There was definitely some strange rules that was attached to this dungeon. After defeating the party of the skeletons, they have finally encountered the boss of the dungeon. But it wasn't probably the last boss, since it was stated that the dungeon has 10 floors.
[ Skeleton Ruler - Level 10 ]
The first boss that they have encounter was a skeleton. Through it was three times larger than the normal human size skeletons. And they also learned that it was much more difficult than those mobs combined. They already know that it was difficult since it was boss, but having all of their attacks not being effective as they thought with only the exception of the tankers sucks.
An E class boss... But it was like they are fighting a D rank. Despite it's bony structure, it has a normal speed compared to those earlier skeletons. It was much bigger than them too.
Thankfully in the end, they have managed to defeat the skeleton Ruler. With Ophelia and Johan landing the last blow using their magic attacks.

Defeating the boss was worth in the end since they ended up receiving an award. This is becoming more and more like a game. When they defeated the monsters, they may have receive drops from some of them and also gain an experience depending on the monster and their own level. There was also the strange rules of class advantage.
A game with their life depended on it. Does the entity known as Dungeon Master see this all as a mere entertainment in it's own eyes?

Agatha read the description of the drops that they have received from the monsters. She couldn't help but be impressed from the awards. They got a decent rewards but it is a pity that the sword that they got has a conditional effect that was only effective on certain specific type of monster. But those card items that was called craft essence was worth it. Just by holding the card they can feel that it was effective.
When they reached the sixth floor, they have seen a pantheon that was just like the one in the first floor.
" Captain Aga, would we leaving now on this dungeon? "
Ophelia asked frowning while they look at the pantheon with complicated expression on her face. When they have arrive at this dungeon and encountered their first monsters here, she was afraid just like Johan. But now that Agatha look at her frowning, she could tell that the frown and uneasiness on her face wasn't because she was scared.
Ophelia wanted to keep going. Just like her. It's true that the dungeon wasn't a natural E rank dungeon by their standards. But the drop from those monsters and the experience that they receive..... It was worth it.
Agatha remembered the face of that person. Both of her hands unconsciously clenched. She look at the faces of her teammates that was staring at her. Finally, she decided to look at them with gaze turning sharp.
" We would have a voting if our team decided to thread further and deeper on this dungeon... Or not. "
Agatha could see the silent approval on their faces.
" Raise your hand if you decided that it was better if our team leave this dungeon. "
Nobody from her team raise their hands.
Agatha couldn't help but reveal a helpless expression forming on her face.
It's true that the monster here are more dangerous than those monsters of those E rank dungeons. It was just the first few floors and some of them have been already injured by some monsters. It was thanks to Natasha's healing skill that they are still alright.
Despite that....
" Seriously, Looks like we are tempted by the strange allure of this dungeon isn't? "
Instead of going inside the pantheon, their team decided to thread forward to the dungeon. The ordinary monsters gets harder more than the previous floors mobs. But they could also see that they are also improving and getting a little stronger.
There was also the drops from those ordinary monsters which consists of Mana crystals that encourage them more to keep going. It was a decent exchange for them since they could sell all of those Mana crystals for a good price. Their venturing in this dungeon was rewarding even it was fraught with dangers.
On the seventh floor, they have encountered the second boss of this dungeon.
[ King Slime– Level 10 ]
It was a gigantic slime monster. Agatha couldn't help but feel the rising feeling of disgust that arisen in her mind when she saw it and as well as the other girls on her team.
What's more when it was wiggling and revealed that it could create those slimy and gooey tentacle like tendrils.
" Disgusting... "
Through for some reason, it was the opposite for the boys. It was like that they are given an encouragement to fight more fiercely and energetically when they saw the slime.
Samson couldn't help but look at the monster with a teary crocodile eyes. He thought that this kind of monster would just exist within those 18+ games. If only he could commemorate it. Unfortunately, Gilbert didn't bring any camera on his portable and dimensional warehouse skill. What a waste of great opportunity. He would just commit it on his mind as possible.
When they started attacking it, a pity that it doesn't have it's signature melting clothes acid technique. It was just a pure gooey and icky fluids. And they have more of a hard time reaching it's weakness since it was gigantic.
Poor Gilbert, he have been nearly swallowed by the slime. It was thanks to Merida that he was saved. Again, the MVP of this dungeon floor was Johan and Ophelia. Their team's only two mages. But it has also cause them to become exhausted.

They have obtained another drops after defeating the second boss. Agatha noted that the craft essence item card called Extremely Spicy Mapo Tofu has quite an unusual high drop rate. Through Agatha was also glad since it was quite a useful item.
[ King Slime's core

The reward that they got from the king Slime was it's core. The information that was given to the item was also intriguing.
After defeating the second boss of this dungeon, Agatha and the rest decided to rest for a bit. But then they have just gotten to rest for only ten minutes before they are automatically transported to the next floor.
The rules of this dungeon is quite strict. Johan and Ophelia hasn't even manage to restore their Mana to 50% of their Mana amount. But the strange rules of the dungeon has also allowed them to recover it faster than the normal amount of their recoveries. If it would compare in those situations, then their recovery here inside the dungeon was quite like the recovery rate of those S ranks.
When they are moved on the next floor, they have immediately saw the monsters.
" Johan, Ophelia... Move on the sidelines. We would take care of this. Recover your mana. "
"" Yes. ""
On this floor, the monsters are just those ordinary monsters. Agatha was certain that Johan and Ophelia would shout how unfair this dungeon if another boss welcomed them.
On this floor, they were welcomed by joint forces of skeletons and wolves. They have manage. And some of their weapons are already running out of durability. Agatha has also gotten to used the sword of Skeleton authority from the first boss of this dungeon. It has helped a lot to ease their battles.
After defeating the monsters and obtaining their drops, just like previously, Agatha and her team didn't immediately move to the next floor of this Dungeon. She and her team rested for a bit before they are automatically transported to the next dungeon again.
She and their team would maximize those 10 minutes to rest to recover their Mana and fatigue as they can. She has a feeling that the last floor of this Dungeon... They would encounter something unexpected. Her team also agreed with her sentiment.
On the next floor, they have encountered three level 15 skeletons. Even they have a higher level than those previous mob monsters, it was more easier than those combination of wolves and skeletons.
" Aren't this floor easy compared to the previous floors? "
Emer commented when they are currently maximizing their recovery rate again. Everyone look at him with a solemn and quite serious gaze. Ophelia was also hugging herself shivering for a moment.
" Don't jinx it, Idiot! "
" The next floor would definitely a hell mode... "
Johan said while he smiled. He and Ophelia have recovered half of their Mana. He hoped that it was enough to help and lessen the burden of their teammates on the next floor. Ophelia and some of their other teammates glared at him. Including their captain, Agatha.
" What? It was just logical to think about it right? "
" You have made us more nervous brat! "
Ophelia said as she pinched Johan's cheek. The latter rubbed his cheek after it was let go. He didn't like Ophelia pinching his cheeks. It was painful.
When they are transported again on the next floor, their was many things at once that they have noticed.
The lone humanoid figure in the distance was staring at them. It was covered a strange shadow like aura. It's body and face was indecipherable. It was obvious that this was the last boss of this Dungeon. Just it's mere presence has also brought feelings of nervousness and fear in their minds. Not just because of it's appearance...

But there was also a certain familiar music playing in within this floor. It was like those boss battle music in those games...
Through they wondered, why is Mozart's Requiem was playing in the background?
