Up to Date

Before Rem knew it, 10 months passed in the time space.

Rem's eyes glowed a crimson red color. A part of her hair that's at the top of her hair turned to the color of fresh snow while the rest was still jet black.

Rem could feel the power pulsing within her.

"I finally… Awakened." Rem gave a small smile.

"How the f*ck did you awaken in just 10 months?!" Kage yelled in shock.

"Didn't you say it's going to take at least a decade…?"

"Yes, it's SUPPOSED to take you that long!!! I- This- Ah, I can't even speak properly d*mmit!" Kage cursed.

"Rem, the top of your hair turned white… About a third of your hair is white. " Zurvan stated.

"White? Am I growing old or is this the aftermath of the awakening?" Rem asked.

"Who cares about your hair? Test out your new powers already!" Kage demanded.

"Okay, wait." Rem said before turning into her beast form.

Rem became an enormous seven feet tall beast. She has large, sharp teeth and claws. She also has thick, white-coated fur with black stripes that looked like a tiger. Additionally, she has wolf ears and three snow-white fox tails. Her piercing cat-like red eyes glowed a dark crimson color, which made her eyes look like blood. What stood out the most was her wings which would have looked like an angel's white wings. However, her wings were the color of ink.

Rem's appearance could scare off anyone. Even her presence alone could make anyone tremble in fear.

"Holy- Well, not holy, but hell- Your appearance changed dramatically! You changed so much that I couldn't even recognize you there for a second. Hahaha, you're finally beginning to look like me!!!!!" Kage laughed.

He sounded like a mad scientist who finally succeeded in an experiment he spent years on.

"How did I change from the size of a tiger to triple that size???" Rem said in confusion after shifting back to her beastman form.

"Don't underestimate awakening. Since you awakened so quickly, your powers probably increased a lot more compared to those normal ones… I'm still stronger than you right now!" Kage quickly said.

"Urgh, whatever you say. Zurvan, how much time passed in the real world?" Rem questioned.

"Approximately one month," Zurvan answered.

"Haiz, I hope nothing catastrophic occurred while I was gone," Rem muttered.

"How do you leave this place?" Rem asked.

"I can teleport you out. After you leave this place, it'll be gone forever. Are you sure you want to leave?" Zurvan said a question back.

"There's no need. I'll bring her back to the real world." Kage exclaimed.

Before Rem or Zurvan could say anything, Rem blacked out.

Rem opened her eyes, squinting and covering the bright sun from her view.

(A/N: The Sun's a deadly laser…!)

"Where am I…?"

Rem stood up, looking at her surroundings.

Everywhere around her was deserted. The ground looked as if it had gone through severe erosion.

'What is this, a battlefield?' Rem wondered.

"Well, you're not wrong. This place used to be a forest. Don't you remember that it's where you passed out and almost died? If I didn't save you, you would've been long dead!" Kage humphed.

"This is the Dark Forest??? I didn't know it'll look this bad…" Rem spoke aloud in surprise.

"I'm going back to Arka City." Rem announced.

She shifted into her beast form and ran towards Arka City.

"Oh wow…" Rem said in amazement.

She's back in her beastman form, on top of the tallest building in the city.

"Looks like Arka City isn't under the control of demons anymore. I need someone to fill me in on the things I missed." Rem exclaimed.

"Kaito? You mean Sunny?" Kage asked.

He's the dark shadows surrounding Rem.

"Sunny? You mean Lucas?" Rem tilted her head slightly to one side.

"Oh yeah, he's called Lucas! Anyways, he's over there, in the school you went to a while ago." Kage said.

"Alright, show me the way."

Rem arrived at Starim Academy.

'It looks the same as before, but why do I have a bad feeling about this…?' Rem thought, feeling uneasy.

"Ah, there he is!" Kage said loudly.

He shifted into a cat and ran towards Kaito who doesn't seem to notice Rem at all.

"Hey." Rem said, making Kaito turn around.

"Rem…?" He said in shock.

"You… Am I dreaming?"

Kaito looked at Rem in a daze and pinched his cheeks.

"Ow…" Kaito rubbed his red cheeks.

"You're not dreaming. It's me, Rem." Rem claimed.

"I-I thought you died…!!!"

"No. I'm alive and well. I just had to go do some things. Can you fill me in on what happened in the past month?" Rem asked.

"Sorry, I was surprised. Thankfully, Arka City isn't controlled by demons now. The First Prince ascended to the throne. However, things aren't looking too good since almost everyone here relies on the Church. The Church has a huge influence on the people. They have almost as much power as the King does." Kaito began explaining.

"The Church wouldn't be that big of a problem if only it's not corrupted. The priests and pope are all followers of that organization who're working with the demons…!" Kaito whispered.

"Then doesn't that technically mean Arka City still is being controlled by the demons? It's just… Not physically. The city may get taken over by the demons anytime, whenever they want…" Rem frowned.

"Unfortunately, you're right. After the First Prince became the new king, the Second Prince's whereabouts are unknown while the Third Prince went to Orthio City to protect it from demon invasions." Kaito continued.

"I know it's late, but thank you for saving my mother. She constantly needs rest, so, believe it or not, I'm the new principal of Starim Academy." Kaito laughed bitterly.

"And the Elven King passed away. Karina's aparently the only pureblood child of the Elven King. There's news that whoever marries her would become the new king." Kaito said.

'I knew she was a princess all along but… I'm not even sure if these news are good or not.' Rem sighed.

"I'll go visit the Church. Thanks for everything, Kaito." Rem smiled a bit.

"No problem. I'm just glad you're alive and well." Kaito smiled.

'He feels even more mature than before…' Rem thought sadly.

She left Starim Academy and proceeded to the Church.

I've been playing Tower of Fantasy instead of Genshin/being productive these days :D

(At least I got to play volleyball yesterday with my friends, but my whole forearm and hands have red spots on them now/are a bit swollen. Is it worth it? Yes.)

I still haven't finished half of my AP World homework yet, even though there's less than a month left until school haha...

:')
