The Only Hero In A New World

Have you ever met a superhero.

Nope, me neither.

The case is either you are a superhero or there are none in your world you see that's the case for me.

I am from a world that you may know, or it could just be a legend to you, and this world is called Earth.

Now, this planet is a small planet mostly covered by water and me I live in a small town in this place called Texas, and I'm going to tell you how I became a superhero in another world.

1 day I got home from school and went straight to my room.

I sat down at my desk and pressed the power button on my computer.

The blue glow of the screen as the computer started up was comforting.

I like to call myself a gamer of sorts since there is only one game I actually play. It's called Evil's Dawn.

I play it every chance I get, and only a few thousand people play it in total.

So it may not be known to you.

I don't really care about the other players since I was the first one to ever play the game.

The game is about you, the main character getting rid of a great evil that is plaguing the land, on the dawn of the grand time.

The game gave that explanation when I first started, but I've been playing for 2 years, and I've never even found out who the great evil is, much less defeat this evil.

There are quests that I've completed. I've even completed entire story arcs, yet the game seems to go on forever.

I type in my password, and my home screen appears on screen and I click on the Evil's Dawn Icon, and the launcher appears.

I then type in my login information, and a popup appears saying.

This is the weirdest update I've ever seen. Why am I able to reject an update and why is it optional, and what's with the optional unknown extras, and of course, I'm going to accept it.

Since I will finally get an ending.

I click confirm, and then numbers start flashing on my screen

UPDATE INSTALLED. LOADING GAME.

Then I hear a female voice.

"Loading new Character Class Hero. Loading new weapon Devil's Horn. Loading Item Amulet Of Disguise. Loading T.I.P.

A young girls voice said to me. Thank you for playing the game. Now, you need to help the people of the land, the sea, the sky, and the people of the darkened land. Now please I beg of you save them."

My vision goes white, and I close my eyes shut as tightly as possible.

As I open my eyes, there is bright sunlight above me.

I notice I am in a field laying down under a tree, I think, taking a nap, but how did I get here if I was just in my room.

I think I'm going crazy I'm hallucinating being outside in a field.

There's no way I got magically teleported outside of my house.

And that female voice I heard was just in my head nothing more, nothing less.

Right.

I hope so.

Clip Clop, Clip Clop, Clip Clop.

"Oh hey there, boy, are ya lost." a man's voice says atop a wagon pulled by 2 horses.

"Kind of, which way is Charles Texas."

"Who, do you mean that famous horse."

"Um, no. Just where am I."

"If we are where I think, we are about 60 leages south of The Two River Trading Outpost."

"Well, Mr."

"Jack, just call me Jack."

"Well, Jack, by any chance, are you heading in that direction."

"Well, I am. I can give you a ride if you want."

"Well, Jack, I would appreciate that, but I have no money to pay you back with."

"Oh, do not worry about that. We're both heading in the same direction, and I would feel guilty leaving someone out here alone, especially with the Chaphers attacking more frequently."

"Knowing that I will take you up on your offer then."

I hop on beside him in the front of the wagon, which the contents are hidden from view, and the wagon starts up again.

Now A Chapher is a wolf mixed with a gopher, they are not that dangerous if your fighting 1 at a time but they hunt in packs so best thing to do is stay away and travel in groups.

I never did when playing the game, but I was like level 156, so a swarm of Chaphers wouldn't do anything to me.

Wait, why is this sounding more and more like the game.

Why am I not panicking? Well, I was, but I'm not anymore.

"So boy, do you have a name."

His words pulled me back to reality.

"I do actually, it's Jason."

"Well Jason, why were you in the middle of nowhere."

Should I tell him I don't even know how I got there since I am probably not from this world.

"I was just taking a trip to go find work since I need money badly, and do you by chance know where Earth is."

"Well, I know of a few jobs at the Outpost that you can do, and what kind of question is that Earth is all around us mainly beneath our feet. Kid, you may be the dumbest person in the entirety of Silvia."

"I might be."

We sit in silence, which feels like 2 hours, then a walled in city appears on the horizon.

"From where I'm from an outpost is like 4 buildings and a max of 10 people living in it."

"Well Kid I don't know where your from but The Two Rivers is the largest most busiest Outpost in Silvia it may be as small as what you are used to when it started out but now it's the number 1 money making city that's in Silvia."

"So when we get there, I'm guessing we're parting ways."

"Not immediately when I saw you. The first thing I noticed was your beautiful clothing. Where did you find such a grand specimen?"

"My mom got me it."

"I would love to talk with your mom, so Jason, if you are willing to part ways with your clothes, I will make you a great deal."

"What's the deal, and I may accept."

"You will get my best outfit, I will pay a weeks worth to stay at an Inn, and I will pay you 30 gold pieces."

"You run a clothes business, right?"

"Yes indeed, Jason."

"I will take you up on that offer then."

"Hello there Jack you make any good deals on your trip this time." A burly man stood at the south gate of the Two Rivers Trading Outpost and asked Jack the question.

"I made a few. This boy is one of em."

"Jack, I only said I would give you my clothes, not my body."

"Don't worry, Jason, I'm just messing with you."

"Well, kid, don't be making trouble for Jack now, ya hear."

"Yes, sir."

BOOM!

I hear an explosion nearby.

"Jack, get yourself and that boy inside now."

"I am."

"Jack, what is that."

"Kid, how do you not know Dranin he comes by to take us and torture the ones he gets his hands on, and eats those he's done with"

So, like Darlixk, but Dranin blows things up instead.

"Jack, by any chance to you have a pineapple."

"Boy, no, I don't, and why are you worrying about food at a time like this."

"People of the Darkened Land can't handle the acids in fruits. Pineapples have the most acid."

"How would you know, kid?"

The south gate finally opens, and Jack urges the horses to hurry fast.

The jolt of the movement throws me off the wagon.

I hit the ground with a thud, and my head hits a rock.

My vision is blurred, and my head aches.

But I swear there is a black Minotaur looking thing barrelling down on me.

"Jason, why did you not hang on." Jack says.

As soon as the wagon passes through the gateway, the gate drops down with a loud thud.

"Hey, little boy, I'm going to eat you for my snack!"

*Jason, Jason, is trying to get killed activate battle mode.

A voice that sounds like a young girl spoke in my head. Now I am aware it's a bit confusing, but it will make sense.

"I'm hearing things again, aren't I."

*No, Jason, I'm T.I.P. so activate battle mode.

"Battle mode activate."

*Battle Mode active. 1 Weapon The Devils Horn 1 Item The Amulet of Disguise and 1 Skill Turnaround +2 more.

"What's Turnaround?"

*Skill, Turnaround reflects all damage unto the dealer for 5 minutes can grow stronger if used enough. Cooldown 1 hour.

"Then Activate skill Turnaround."

Bang!

"What happened, and why does my head hurt."

*Well, Jason, it appears Dranin has been thrown far from here, and you won this fight. Also, you were thrown back since you are not used to taking that damage and reflecting in on someone. Also, you receive 40xp for defeating Dranin, 60xp to Level Up. Exiting Battle Mode.

"Well, T.I.P. what the hell just happened."
