The second chapter is never much better than the first really

Jia Jingfei was a webcomic artist, and was very familiar with the popular and relatively new genres online such as transmigration, quick transmigration, rebirth, unlimited flow etc. At the very least it was faster to get over her shock than the average person.

As she squishes her rather voluptuous chest through her nightgown, Jia Jingfei strains her brain to recall this person's identity. She could feel that she had extra memories in her head, but like most memories, some were blurrier than others. Unfortunately the original body seemed a little ditzy because an alarming number of her memories weren't very vivid.

Jia Jingfei's expression was a little ugly as she tried to sort things out in her head.

After a few minutes she could basically confirm the original owner could be summed up in a few words.

Stupid.

Bratty.

Rich.

Princess Syndrome.

With the same name as her, this Jia Jingfei grew up pampered and coddled for the majority of her life so far. Her Jia family was a major stockholder to one of the largest electronic companies and created a very popular food brand that made snacks from chocolate bars to cup noodles. Not only that, she only had an elder brother who is quite a genius in business and has also dabbled in the stock market, raking in millions from his hobby before he even graduated.

Because her older brother was so capable, of course the parents could only dote on her. After all, before the Jia mother and father realised it, the oldest son had already hardened his wings* and flew off while they weren't looking. The only one left in the metaphorical nest now was a stupid but cute fluffy chick (the original owner) and filled with a sense of guilt and crisis over missing another child's growth, they over compensated by showering the girl with love and affection and money.

*matured and doesn't need any protection

Honestly it would be weird if the original owner didn't grow up spoilt with that sort of upbringing.

Surprisingly though, the original owner who was spoiled silly, was quite arrogant at home but in public she became a little shy. Her core personality was actually quite cowardly and introverted, and only when she was home could she relax and be a little devil again.

This was most likely attributed to various factors but the main external ones were her brother and her peers.

Her brother, to be frank, was like one of those cold domineering CEO male leads you read about in various romance stories. Handsome, aloof, abstinent. However while it's very attractive it's actually quite hard to live with ah. He's always staring with a piercing gaze like he could see all your crimes, being silent, treating words like precious gold that could only be reluctantly handed out, acting stiff and cold, usually scolding and sneering, even stricter than some teachers... as a small child who could stand this sort of big brother?

The original owner is lively but the elder brother didn't play with her, he didn't joke with her and didn't really seem to even like talking with her. It was fine if he only started this when she grew older and more unrestrained but the key thing is that he was always like this to her even when she was a little kid. The impression of the older brother was basically a silent scary monster with a human face who would only open his mouth to criticize her, generally about her conduct in public.

Even though the original owner didn't really like this older brother much, he was older, more successful, handsome and had an overbearing aura, so she secretly respected him a lot. Even though she complained a lot and felt very wronged, subconsciously she took his criticisms to heart and tried to not make trouble outside.

Jia Jingfei: '...' Why does this sibling relationship have a bit of an evil mother-in-law flavor to it ah?

The peers in her social circle are better and worse. After all, who didn't know how messy the rich high society circles can be? It's worse than the entertainment circle really.

While the other rich second generations are gentle and smiling, unlike her brother, they were even scarier because they were full of plots and schemes in the original owner's view. While this wasn't true, it wasn't false either. After all, the circle was really messy. The fathers were raising mistresses, the mothers were seducing, illegitimate and legitimate siblings will tear at each other, there were sabotaging step mothers and distant parents... truly ugly.

When the original owner was younger, she did not see it. She thought she had many friends and was well loved. Even the boy she had a crush on had confessed to her.

However her brother dragged her into her room, and ripped off the illusion from her eyes. Text messages from her friends mocking her. Calling her stupid and annoying, while making plans to convince her to buy things for them because their own parents didn't give as much pocket money as her, expressing jealousy and hatred toward her.

Even the boy she liked, they had paid to confess to her. The boy was not from the rich circle at all but a poor scholarship student that wasn't actually that handsome. However the original owner really liked the boy because not only was he very smart but in her mind was very kind because he helped her out of being scolded by the teacher for forgetting a textbook. He offered to share and as a simple school girl she had been very moved.

However it turned out the boy was just a wannabe pheonix man* and he had actually shared many textbooks with many young ladies.

*What they call a poor guy who marries a rich woman to soar up the social hierarchy. Usually a derogatory description like calling a lady a gold digger.

Even though the original owner was only a spare tire in case the school flower he was chasing fails, he had been tempted by the money of her good plastic friends*. After all, the original owner was still very cute and had a mixed Anglo-Saxon heritage that gifted her with a more matured body. Compared to the flowers at school who hadn't matured yet, her chest was like two hills in the middle of a flat field.

*fake

The wannabe baby pheonix man felt that it would be not bad to date her a little before throwing her away to chase the school flower again. After all, the original owner wasn't very self-aware, the little pheonix man was pretty confident that he could still string her along.

Unfortunately the boy didn't realise the original owner's brother was so perverted that he would hire people to keep track of the phone records of everyone around the original owner.

The original who was so shattered by the true faces of society did not question the key point on how her 'cold' older brother had gotten these phone records and clearly very confidential and invasive information into his hands nor why he had it in the first place.

Jia Jingfei: '...' I don't know what to be more appalled about here. The plastic friendship, the little scum man, the older brother who clearly has some issues, or how stupid the original owner truly was.

The memories of this body was not very reliable it seems. No matter how icy the temperament, the more Jia Jingfei looked, the more strange she felt. Maybe because she was an outsider, she really felt that this brother did not hate the original owner at all, it was just his behavior and how he expressed things was really.... well, she couldn't blame the original owner for thinking she was hated.

Silently she mentally placed a big 'PERVERT' on her impression of this older brother. Love or hate, this perversion was still undeniable ah. She will have to be a bit careful around him.

Anyway, thanks to that rather traumatic incident, in the original owner's eyes everyone was a smiling devil and she couldn't relax her guard whenever she had to socialize with anyone. Put it plainly, it was paranoia and social anxiety.

The original owner could only act spoilt at home but was shy and timid outside. She had no real friends from highschool to university. Now that she's graduated, the original owner was lost and stayed at home most of the time.

Thinking like that, Jia Jingfei felt a bit sorry for the original owner. She didn't know why she replaced her but she knew that the wound she personally took in her own original body was fatal. A stab to the heart. Only a protagonist could make it through that.

Which meant if the owner of this body came back... that would probably be the end for her.

Jia Jingfei laid back down on the soft, and ridiculously comfortable bed with a sigh. Her eyes were tingling a little as she tried to fight off tears. Normal people were afraid of death after all. And as someone who died once, Jia Jingfei really wasn't in the mood to think about the possibility of dying again.

In stories the transmigrated protagonist usually completely replaces the original body and never worries about the soul coming back but Jia Jingfei can't afford not to worry. After all, this wasn't a character she recognizes from a story or a game, she doesn't have any future memories that suggest the original owner died tragically like a cannonfodder, all she had was the memories of a coddled and lonely rich girl who was nervous about her future.

Even if she was a brat. Pampered. Idiot. And way too rich for her own good. This was still a life being robbed.

Who knows if Jia Jingfei can keep this stolen body forever?

She shuts her eyes tighter but it only serves to squeeze the growing tears from her eyes.

Eh, if memory serves her right the original owner likes to sleep till quite late in the day. So for just a while, just in this moment, on this beautiful morning, let her cry a bit and mourn what she lost.
