2 The Awakening Part 1

"Trash, I better not see your face again, take your book and go!"

I ran away with my burnt book in hand. I had bruises and burns all over my body, but to me this book means everything.

Being a poor orphan, I haven't really had the best life, and at this point I'm pretty fed up with life itself. But I'll live, I have to, my hope is coming soon, the Awakening Ceremony. This one ceremony that takes around five minutes can change my entire fate if it turns out I have even a decent bloodline.

The only thing is my class still has yet to show signs of awakening. Everyone when they reach the age of 13 their class starts to awaken on its own, preparing the body for its bloodline powers. But my 155 centimeter, 45 kilogram self still hasn't awakened my class in the slightest.

Once I saw I made it far enough away that Cerberus, the bully, couldn't see me, I walked over to the orphanage. I stumbled through the doorway, and saw all the little kids. Of course like always they avoided me, and let me through to the stairs. Since I haven't gotten any signs of my class yet, they avoid me hoping to not have the same fate.

I made it to my room, which once again was empty, as my roommates also decided to leave me be. I put my book down on its space, at the top left corner of my bed, and started to treat my wounds. They stung, a lot, every inch of me started to ache and hurt. Blood dried on the surface of my clothes, and skin. This would definitely leave a few scars.

After cleaning them out for the most part, I passed out. I normally have dreams about being hero's from stories like Ford the Legendary Assassin, or Thirteen the 13th Sage, but today was different.

Today instead of my usual dream I saw two golden figures looking at me, one male, and one female. Neither of them had any distinct features but I could tell they were trying to tell me something. What I could make out was all broken speech, and I had no idea what they could possibly mean.

"Theia... owers... acy."

"You... champion... Chaos."

I didn't know what these fragments of words could mean, or even which figure said what, I only knew it must be important. I woke up in a cold sweat. I saw most of my wounds had closed and the blood was completely dry. I looked around still aching and itching wondering how much time had passed.

"Theia get up, its been a week, you have to go to the ceremony NOW! You better put something decent on!"
