5 (Chapter 5) Starting A New Story 5

The worker stiffened. As the others wondered what he was looking at they also took a peek...

What they saw was astonishing! Stella was sitting back with his feet on the table. Looking like he was the king of this room, while the laptop sounded to be playing games... The paper on his desk looked unused and the ink wasn't touched.

'What? How dare this beggar get this job and play games!' All the workers were now enraged, as they started to wonder why CEO Fude would even hire such a person...

"Is there something wrong?" Stella asked without even looking up, his voice sounded melodious. Making some of the women's hearts beat faster.

"...I have a project to be looked at." The worker was stalled for a few seconds until he gained an arrogant tone.

"Oh, put it on the table." Stella said in a tone like he was talking about a takeaway instead of a multi million business project...

The worker's face flew into a pit of rage. "You damn beggar! Why the fuck are you even here? You took a management role and then come here and play games? Who do you think you are?" He shouted in utter rage.

The people peaking also had the same feelings and questions. 'Just who did this man think he is?'

Stella didn't react as he kept playing his games. The sound of 'Game over' came from the laptop as he shifted his eyes to the worker.

"I was advised by CEO Fude to work here. Do you have a problem with that?" Stella asked as he stifled a yawn.

Everyone's ears all caught those words. 'Advised by CEO Fude.' How? Why is this person in such a big role yet he is sitting there playing games? Does he know math? Does he know where he is? Does he know shame?

The people all got riled up. They have only had this manager for 3 hours and now there were calls to report him to the CEO.

"Y-You..." The worker who wanted to hand his project was so enraged by his attitude that he couldn't shout out his complaint. 'That seat should be mine! Why was it given to a man with dirt on his face!?'

"If there is nothing else would you please leave? I'm a busy man." Stella said as his sentence was interrupted with a yawn.

The worker stormed out of his office, determined to complain. "That beggar! He thinks that just because he had been advised by the CEO to work here he can do nothing all day! Outrageous! Let's complain!" The people were all in upheaval. Extremely dissatisfied with Stella.

Little did they know, that as soon they all left. Stella's smile appeared on his face. As he started to type on the laptop at crazy speeds.

...............

"CEO... There are workers from department 3 outside asking for you." Ryan's secretary said in a low voice.

"Workers? How many?" He noticed the plural.

"...C-Close to f-forty. They all seem to be complaints about s-senior management." She stumbled in her words as Ryan's face turned as black as ash.

'That bastard! He is so bad that he causing the entire department to complain against him! How the fuck will we get any advantage out of him!?' Ryan inwardly cursed as he stood up to open his door.

"CEO Fude, the new manager is so contentious. He is sitting playing games without doing any work! It's unfair!" Many complaints rolled off the tongues of the workers one after another.

"Enough! Stacey, check CCTV. I'll go deal with the bastard myself." His face was contorted, it was clear how pissed he was.

Stacey (Ryan's secretary) did as she was asked and checked the CCTV in the department. While Ryan stormed down to Stella's room...

.................

*Bang* The door to Stella's room crashed against the wall. As Ryan walked in, he stopped in his tracks.

"Boss, is there something wrong?" Stella asked apprehensively, his eyes not daring to look at Ryan's.

Ryan stayed still and quiet, just looking at Stella's desk. "You... Did this?" Ryan asked as he walked up to the desk and picked up a piece of paper.

'Yes! The CEO is going to throw him out!' The workers outside we reinvigorated, they couldn't wait to see Stella thrown out.

"Yes boss." Stella replied as Ryan picked up another piece of paper and read the content.

His eyes flickered, gleamed, and almost popped out of his head! "Who came up with such an idea?" He asked, his voice was filled with excitement.

Stella smiled. "I did boss." He replied as saw Ryan pick up his laptop.

The workers outside so this and couldn't wait for the laptop to be hit across his head! Ha! a beggar can't come and work for the Fude business that easily!

"Mmm, this is perfect! I will make sure to tell the chairman about this fantastic idea!" Ryan gloated, of course, he would be taking credit for such amazing work.

'It is perfect! Wait, what!? Fantastic idea!? Tell the chairman!?' The workers felt their minds on overload. Did their CEO eat the wrong breakfast today?

Stella smiled. "Thank you CEO Fude, I will continue the hard work." He replied as he slightly lowered his head.

Ryan's eyes gleamed with greed. "Mmm, I heard something along the lines that you were playing games. Despite having such great work, if you have been spotted on the CCTV for playing games then I hope you know the consequences?" Ryan said with a glint in his eye. He didn't forget the main reason he was here.

Stella shook a little and stiffened. "I wouldn't dare play games at work CEO Fude." He replied with terror in his voice.

'BULLSHIT! He was just 10 minutes ago!' The workers were pissed, but glad that the beggar would be caught and punished...

Just as they thought that Ryan's phone went off. He looked at it and saw it was Stacey.

"Hello boss, after investigation it is clear that the new manager didn't play games while on shift. I can send the video footage now." Stacey's voice went through the phone.

'What? Impossible! They all saw and heard it with their own ears!' All of the workers got a slight look at Ryan.

"Alright send it over." He said as he got a message.

Ryan watched the footage... It was just Stella sitting doing work on his laptop, occasionally using the paper to write things down.

The workers all scrambled to see the video. "Bullshit! He definitely was playing games and even had his legs up on the table! This can't be real!" The worker who gave his project to Stella roared from anger.

Ryan's eyebrows scrunched up. "CCTV doesn't lie. Are you saying that my secretary got something wrong and sent me the wrong video? Aren't you in here giving Manager Stella here your project?" Ryan sharply asked, he had found a money bag so he needed to protect it from getting rips.

The workers watched the footage... And were amazed! There were 2 cameras on them and it was exactly as it was. But the actions of Stella were totally different. In the video, he was working and just ignored the workers when they all came to his door...

If anything the video made it look like they were disturbing him! "No way! Manager Stella was arrogant, he wasn't working at all!" One of the women said out loud. Worried that she would be implicated.

The workers all started saying similar things, which made Ryan frown from anger.

"If you all say the same thing with no proof that won't be getting you anyway. The CCTV shows that you all disturbed Manager Stella. Then you all went up and disturbed me! The timing on the other cameras supports this." Ryan shut up all the workers immediately.

They all looked at the raging Ryan. Then at the lax Stella... They felt a rage inside of them! 'How could this beggar be any good? How were the CCTV camera's showing something entirely different than what actually happened?' They all wanted to scream their hatred... But then the judgment came.

"Since you all love to disturb manager Stella and me so much, I don't think it is worthwhile keeping all of you on." Ryan said with a blackface.

He was sitting on potentially billions if the project Stella went through! It was so simple but nothing had ever come up with the idea! It was cheap to produce and could be sold at inflated prices. Compare that to forty people who were all against him making billions... It was a clear choice.

All of the workers' faces paled. "W-What do you mean?" One of them asked, not realizing that being quiet would be the best choice to save them all.

"What do I mean? What do I mean? I see. Have you all forgotten who is in charge of this place? All of you, go collect your wages from finance and hand in your notice immediately." Ryan said as he took one last look at the project of Stella's computer.

The workers all looked dejected. They all looked at Ryan in anger, they had been working here for years! Yet now he decided to trust a lazy manager for no apparent reason!

Yet they couldn't do anything, they didn't want to end up in court against the Fude family. So they went and did as told. Finance was surprised to see that CEO Fude decided to fire an entire department at once. But didn't say anything.

"Stella, this work is satisfactory. Keep it going." Ryan said as he rushed away. Excited to pitch the idea to his father-in-law...

Stella sat down on his chair and put his feet up again, keeping his lazy, one-sided smile. He looked extremely compelling at that moment.
