45 A Moment that would last a Lifetime
"Did you say something?" She probably heard what I said but pretended not to know to prevent some awkward atmosphere between the two of us.
However, I didn't seem to notice at first because I was so focused on her. But she looked dashing wearing Korea's traditional clothes. Although, I'm pretty sure that whatever she wears, it would fit well with her beauty. Because of her fair skin, the light pink color of her outfits emphasizes her beauty and maturity.
"Nope, I wasn't talking," We ran around the field then returned to the market to eat some snacks.
Seeing every people wearing traditional clothing is a major cultural reset for me. As a person who has lived in the future, life was simple during this era. The forest is still rich, the air is still fresh, and some soothing noise from the market. Because in the present, you'll not hear people's voices, but rather the noise of the cars traveling at every hour.
The air filled with smoke and dust while in this er. There still haven't been any problems with the pollution. Dying like this would be a reward rather than punishment. But still, without any explanations as to what this unexplainable phenomenon is currently happening to me, I shouldn't jump to the conclusion that I have died in the present time.
It would have been unfair if it really ended just like that for me.
"You've been spacing out a lot lately, did all of your memories really disappeared? Do you want to rest first? You dont know, but maybe a little rest is all it takes for you to remember," Because I was thinking of the present while I was with Shayna, I might have been too oblivious that she couldn't help but notice.
"No, I'm alright. Let's just enjoy the day. We shouldn't waste such a wonderful day. That's why let's have fun," Although I insisted on moving forward, it seems that she felt that I was anxious about something. It turned out that five hours had already passed, and it's already five o'clock in the afternoon.
"Nope, everything is fine. I could also get some rest from all that running around we did, but first, let's catch some snacks before heading on our way," I wonder how close we are in this era.
It's funny how she appears to be an elegant young lady while calm but acts like a warrior when excited.
-5 minutes after eating some snacks-
"Because you won't be able to remember that place. I would like to take you there and pretend as if it's our first time being in that place," Honestly speaking, I have no idea what Shayna wanted to show me. However, it's much better than having an awkward atmosphere between the two of us.
The place that she wanted to show me is far. Since we had already passed by the flower field. Even the sun is about to set, but we still haven't reached our destination. Suddenly, there was a way directing towards somewhere in the forest. While slowly arriving at the place Shayna wanted to show me, there was a cliff where you can admire the endless beauty of the sunset.
Mesmerized by the view, I didn't notice that Shayna was trying to tell me something.
"Hey, Tae Hoon. What are you doing standing there?" What a perfect view this lady provides. She fits the sunset as if it's a goddess right in front of me.
As I sat near the edge of the cliff, I couldn't help but still be amazed at the beauty of the sunset. How fascinating how this vibrant scenario and filled with warm colors could captivate a person's eyes in just a minute. Cold breeze because of the atmosphere, with warm touch because of the sun eventhough it's setting. This might be the first time that I took the time to appreciate the beauty of nature.
Then suddenly, Shayna asked me a rather unexpected question.
"What do you think would happen in the future?" Her words shocked me. Because as far as you know, the future that she is talking about is the present where I currently am.
"That's quite uncommon, but why do you ask?" You can't blame me for being curious about the sudden change in the topic.
"Every day, we imagine ourselves in the future while looking at the sunset. Trying to think of absurd scenarios that will fit our imagination. And while you still dont have your memories, I want to know what kind of future would you prefer?" Knowing what the future of this country looks like, and the history between our countries. There's only one thing that I want.
"Hmm, hopefully in the future, there would be no wars, nor greed and just unending peace between everyone in the world," Although she seemed unsatisfied with my answer. She then shared her thoughts about what she wants in the future.
"Well, mine is a very selfish wish. I hope that in the future or in our next life. What I want is for the both of us to meet again. And return to how it was before. Absurd right? But because of you, I was able to have lived my life to the fullest. And imagine a world without you, then it would be lonely for someone like me. However, if there is even the slightest chance that things would turn out the way I wanted. Then I would gladly be the happiest person the world has ever known," Now I know why in the present she repeatedly appears in my dreams.
Reincarnation, the concept of reincarnation, is about the spirit of a human will transfer to a new body in a new life after your biological death. There have been many circumstances supporting the concept. While some believed that they have shown evidence about this phenomenon. However, there is still not enough evidence to prove its existence.
Many have tried to study the concept, but many still failed. Although, if this concept can be applied in the present, then I am the reincarnation of Kim Tae Hoon. And theoretically, the trigger for our connection is her wish. But I felt sadness in her words as she shares her own version of the future.
If only there is a way for me to know the memories that this body has. Because Shayna might be that perfect, wonderful lady on the outside, but there is this something about her that I couldn't help but notice. As if inside her is a sorrowful young lady hoping to find someone who could comfort her. Therefore, because I am present for her in this era. Then it might be one of the reasons why our minds are connected in the present.
"Leaving out about what you want for others, what do you want the future you to have?" What would I like my future to have?
"I guess to live a peaceful life with you. Because I've been living like a fool this past few years. Everything has been hard for me, and even a dream seems to be impossible for the likes of me. Everyone thought that everything is fine, but they didn't know that I was only hiding behind a mask," I have forgotten that this was the past. Shayna didn't know about my experiences in the present. However, this was the first time that someone asked me about what I wanted for myself. That all the pent-up frustration that I've been bottling up suddenly burst into words.
"That clears the suspicion I've had for a while," What suspicion does she mean?
"Suspicion? What suspicion?" Intrigued but still acted nonchalantly.
"Back in the past, you wouldn't stop talking about this reincarnation something and being able to see through the future. Although I honestly thought that you have a screw loose in your head. Your answer definitely is the concrete evidence that somehow this phenomenon exists in the real world," Shayna is quite an intellectual if you ask me.
Who knows that she has been observing my actions since this morning. However, admitting about it might lead to something terrifying. It might be better to deny until the end.
"You've been taking my suggestions too seriously, and if you ask me, how would that even be possible?" Couldn't think of any way to evade her statement since everything came from me, in other words, Tae Hoon.
"How could you possibly be in a situation where you say you've been acting a fool over this year when everyone knew how open you are. And although things might have been hard. You always had a chance to look at it with a different approach. Understandably, you hide behind a mask because of the position you hold," Although her explanation is still a bit off, she still tries to uncover the truth.
"But every time it was only the two of us, you always told me about your problems. Also, the sun has already set, but your memories still haven't returned. It was also a part of your theory that if you somehow get reincarnated in another life. You wouldn't have any clue or memories about your past life. Therefore, you're from the future who time leaped to this era," Her explanation fits right to the current scenario, so it will be hard to conceal the truth.
"Well then, I guess the past me is quite clever than I have ever imagined. However, there is a specific rule that I shouldn't break regarding this phenomenon. Although I still haven't been able to piece out the puzzle. But disclosing any information about the future would create massive destruction in the timeline. And it might lead to harming the world in the future," Shayna doesn't seem to be the kind of person who wouldn't understand a thing. So I insisted that we return because it's already sundown.
However, before I could even stand up. My body went numb, and everything blacked out. Then I found myself in a dark room sitting below a spotlight right above me.
