30 His Mother

I told them that Rachel and I weren't interested to play. Justin offered his seat to Cindy and sat beside Austin. They played Dum Charades for more than an hour and we both had a normal conversation.

We went to a restaurant for lunch and then we were left free for some time and then started our journey after spending three hours in a restaurant. It was one of the famous restaurants in S city. It was around eight by the time we reached our school. Everyone were tired as it was a long journey. We got down from the bus and waited for Justin's driver to pick us up. The day before I was leaving to Oasis, my aunt Helen called up my mother and informed her that she would send a driver to pick up Rachel and me along with Justin.

Even Austin was with us as he waited for his driver to come. We three stood near the entrance and Rachel sat on a bike, a little away from us. After sometime, a driver alighted from a Black Porsche car and opened the car door for his owner to get down. A woman got down from her car. She looked beautiful even though she didn't wear much jewelry. There was an aura of elegance when she was walking. She stretched her arms for her son to hug her.

When I saw her getting down from her car I felt that she looked familiar but I didn't know that she was Austin's mother until she hugged her son.

"Did you all enjoy?" she asked us. Her voice was gentle and sweet.

"Yes, it was great, Mrs. Ames," Justin replied politely.

"Mom she is ..."

"What is your name?" she asked me, interjecting Austin.

"Jessica," I replied .

She gave me a warm smile to my reply.

"Such a nice name, shall I drop you all ?" she asked Justin.

"No aunty, my driver will come in a while," he answered.

There was a warm smile on her face when she spoke to us. Austin looks just like his mother. I saw his mother a few years ago when she came to Justin's house during Christmas season; but never had a conversation with her. That day was the first time I ever spoke to Austin's mother, Alicia Sanchez Ames. Just by the little conversation I had with her, I could tell that she is an amazing woman.

After a while Justin's car arrived. Rachel sat in the back and when I was about to get into the car, Justin blocked my way. I glared at him and went to sit in the passenger seat beside driver.

Justin asked Rachel if she was fine.

Rachel shook her head and replied that she was fine.

From the moment we got into the car till Rachel alighted from the car, Rachel's gaze was fixed upon the guy who closed his eyes to rest. When we reached Rachel's house I got down from the car to talk to her.

"Please don't tell anything about yesterday night, " was the only thing she said to me before she headed towards her house.

I nodded to her plea.

If it wasn't for Rachel's request, I would've surely asked Justin if he liked Cindy or Rachel.

After we dropped Rachel at her house, I sat in the back seat beside Justin. He fell asleep. Before I got down, I threw his bag on him to wake up to which he opened his eyes.

"I'm leaving," I announced and left after I closed the car door before he could yell at me for throwing his bag on him. I was angry at my cousin who slept peacefully. I know It was completely not his fault because he had no clue about Rachel's feelings and Rachel is a kind of person who don't express her feelings much. She finds excuses to escape such situations and the person instead of dealing with it.

I was welcomed by my parents as soon as I got home. My mother hugged me and asked me about my trip to Oasis. The only thing that struck my mind when she asked me about Oasis was the time I spent with Austin. Each and every minute I spent with him was magical.

My mother saw my cheeks turn red and asked me if I was feeling sick. I excused myself and rushed into my room. I couldn't sleep the entire night and wasn't in a mood to write my diary too.

Austin's Birthday is on sixteenth of February, which is in few days. I want to give him something before his birthday or after his birthday because he never attended classes on his birthday.

One night, I went to the kitchen to drink water and saw my maid who was in her late fifties weaving a sweater for her grandson. I got an idea when I saw her weaving with two colours of yarn. When I was in seventh standard, she was the one who taught me weaving.

Once I overheard Austin's conversation with Justin that he is not able to sleep, he also added that even if he is sleeping he is having weird dreams.

The very next day, Rachel and I went to the shop and bought the things I needed for weaving. I don't know if he would like my gift but I wanted to give him one.

Final examination are going to be held in next month. Every one are busy preparing for the exams and here I am busy weaving so that I could give him the present on his birthday.

I advised Rachel to talk to Justin and tell him that she likes him and clear the misunderstandings but she couldn't, because Justin was always surrounded by people and not only that, we came to know that Justin started to study with Cindy and other people in library after school hours which made Rachel depress.

Jessica's experiences taught her many things and one of those things is that people should express their thoughts and feelings instead of hiding and running away. Sometimes misunderstandings create great damages in relations.
