Open Mind

"Alright, there are two teams on me," Alex said while sitting before the screen, playing Fortnite. at high speed, he began to build, before turning around snipping the 2 players and knocking them. but there were two other players, and they were no pushovers. thats where Jenny came in, drawing their attention and giving him the chance to snip them.

"How is your aim perfect? you never miss." Jenny said seeing how they won. She looked at Alex, there was their 6th win in a roll. 6 out of the 7 games they played, thats on top of the fact Alex just played the game for the first time.

"What do you mean? the pointer is always at the center of the screen. just pull the trigger every time the target head enters the center of the screen or moves the center of the screen towards them." I said confused by her words, what was so hard about not missing? of course, if the enemy is far away enough, the bullet would drop, just measure the distance and drop rate.

it's like how you throw a rock, your brain does all of that calculation at high speed. one doesn't even notice it. the fact you can take a rock, aim at something, throw it, and hit said target is impressive. your brain has to measure the distance, measure the weight of the item being thrown, and so many other things.

Now this same process is placed into one shooting within a game. get good in the game, and you would find yourself not needing to think as much before shooting at a target. it's just that Alex's mind calculated things faster. what was simple to him was considered hard for others.

Alex pictured a small dot in the center of the screen, pretty much allowing him to never need a scope. his brain could also tell the distance between his game avatar and the world around it, allowing him to better know how far the enemy is and if he should aim above them, or straight at them.

Alex was a supercomputer, with a brain that could process information far higher than any other humans. In theory, Alex could dodge bullets. of course, before the bullet is fired. by looking at where the gun is aimed, he should be able to mentally form a line at where the bullet would travel, allowing him to hop around dodging the bullets just as they are fired.

this is what people like Batman did, Batman wasn't faster than a bullet, but he could jump around, dodging them before they left the chamber they were fired from.

"Are you able to just picture the pointer there? Do you have those weird minds? OMG, let's be Twitch streamers. I will be like Sssniperwolf. you play the game and I act like i'm playing. with my pretty face and your skills. we can make a huge amount of money." She said with bright eyes, making me look at her in confusion.

"tell me all about this on the way to your place. I have to go to work." I said while finishing up the food the servants had brought us. Jenny nodded while we turned off the computers before heading downstairs and into the limo.

to her house, Jenny told me all about streaming. My eyebrows almost widened seeing how some Twitch streamers making hundreds of thousands of months. some even made more than I made with my uncle... with my skills, and Jenny's pretty face, we actually could become the highest-paid streamers.

"You in? we will split this 50/50, I can handle everything since you're busy with your own thing... but I don't want to be like Sniperwolf. I don't want to become a meme." Jenny said while lost in thought,

"I got an idea," I said before telling her my idea. in Fortnite, one can play the game solo, or with a party with a max of 4. With my skills, I could easily carry a whole party of 4... I will play and have 3 other random fans join, and all of them be carried to victory. I didn't know if others do this or not, but it sounded like it might make a lot of money.

after all, once we make a huge following for ourselves, there will be those who want to play alongside us... right? Hell, to get more followers, we can even start events and stuff.

"... what do you think?" I asked, to which Jenny just looked at me with a blank look for a moment before her eyes brightened while she nodded madly. she quickly went on to open a Twitch account.

"with your skills, in a month, I am sure the whole world will start knowing who you are. Ninja is making 500k a month, I bet within 6 or so months, we would have more than him by a landslide." Jenny said with bright eyes. With this, her parents would get off her back about getting a job and stuff.

"You already have a Twitch account?" I asked seeing how she had an account, seeing this Jenny blushed slightly. She tried to but she quickly found out she sucked, although she had 10 subscribers.

"When can we start?" Jenny asked as she looked towards me, I thought for a moment before speaking

"Clizby can you get the contract and even the bank account that would be linked with this account ready?" I asked,

"Of course sir. I will see to it, thats it's done within 2 days." Cliby said respectfully. To others who had to wait, the rich skipped such things and jumped straight to the gains. I could expect everything to be ready by tomorrow morning and we could start working.

"I will buy the equipment and other stuff, you're free to come over whenever you want," I said with a smile, Jenny nodded lightly before stepping out of the limo when Clizby opened the door for her, she waved goodbye at me and Clizby as we left. but as the limo drove away, she sighed as she looked toward her parent's home. her parents were home since their car was parked, but her sister wasn't.

She entered inside, and as soon as she did she heard her mother screaming her lungs out at someone.

"Don't give me that crap, for 5 years you told us you had information on him." Lana roared at the phone, causing Jenny to freeze as she had never seen her mother so enraged. but when Lana saw her, she cursed at the other party before hanging up the phone.

"W-whats going on?" Jenny asked nervously, Lana glared at her slightly, but sighed, seemingly realizing she was about to get mad at someone who had nothing to do with this.

"When Lisa was said to marry Alex, we had a background check done on him... the information that came back said all type of bad stuff about him. but I checked again and the guy was lying, not wanting Lisa to marry someone." Lana said hatefully, stunning Jenny

"Not to think I had been a total dick to someone innocent all these years... and I only bothered to check to see the information I had on him only now," Lana said with a depressed sigh, leaving Jenny not knowing what to say.

"I need time to sit down, go back to your room, and play those game things," Lana said waving her away. Jenny just left and went to her room where she went on to quickly tell Alex everything she heard. Alex texted back soon, stunned and unsure about what he just heard.

While they were texting, a knock came on the door, and soon Jenny heard her father asking to come in. She allowed him to enter, and after looking around her room for a moment, he looked at her.

".... about Alex. do you think there is a way we can fix our mistake with him? we not asking him to marry Lisa or anything, we just want to apologize." He said softly, leaving Jenny stunned as she didn't expect this. everything was not going to the plot. shouldn't her parents be the bad guys here and want to get Lisa and Alex back together at all costs? was this another way around that scheme?

"Alex has no interest in marrying Lisa, just leave him alone," Jenny said unhappily, to which her father raised his hands.

"I had no plans. Your mother even slapped Lisa when she dared to bring up the idea of trying to remarry him. you know how your mother is," He said stunning Jenny as this was the first she ever heard of her elder sister getting hit.

"We understand we messed up and marriage is off the table. I had a lot of time to think of the past 5 years and realize you're the only one who treated him nicely. maybe it's because we told you nothing about the news we got about him, or maybe you're different... I don't know what I'm trying to say. I guess I want you to apologize to Alex on our behalf, and see if we can meet and talk so we can explain everything." He said with a depressed sigh, leaving Jenny, not knowing what to say. Was this an act? if so, then why was her father not a movie star?

"I will see what I can do..." Jenny said, to which he nodded slightly. he was about to leave but paused at the door and looked at her.

"while looking at everything... we realized we had neglected you all these years, we also want to fix things with you. so when you're ready, come downstairs, and let's talk. This is something we should all talk about." He said softly, causing Jenny's heart to skip. she could have told herself she never wanted her parent's acknowledgment, but who wouldn't want this when the time came?

She nodded slightly, and just watched her father leave. her mind couldn't help but race, playing out all possible things that could happen once she went downstairs. She quickly texted Alex, telling him everything that just played out."

"Is everything alright sir?" Clizby asked seeing how Alex sat with a deep frown while looking at the phone.

"yeah... my ex-parent-in-laws wants to sit down with me and speak. pretty much, someone gave them false information about me, and after returning home they did another check just to find that the said person had given them false information so no one could marry the girl they loved." I said softly,

"I don't know if I could trust them, or if they are talking a load of BS. but could someone change so quickly? but if their hatred towards me was all of false information, I can understand it. but some things once done, can't be undone. what do you think I should do?" I said softly.

"... I say put aside your personal feelings about the matter. you are new to this world, so having a strong family like the Smiths would benefit you greatly. using their connections and money, you could quickly become a powerhouse within the city." Clizby said softly.

"There is a saying that goes "Don't burn your bridges". It is a warning that you should never acrimoniously or irrevocably sever personal connections to people or organizations when changing your situation," Clizby said causing me to nod my head lightly.

"the bridge between you and the Smith isn't completely severed... but once it's done, you will lose all possible opportunity that the Smith family could bring you. I'm not saying to love them... i'm saying to use them. if this was a chess game, the Smith family is currently a pawn. are you going to use it, and get that pawn to turn into a queen, or are you going use it for your greater plans, or ignore it to sit there forgotten?" Clizby asked while I closed my eyes in deep thought about his words.

"Thanks for the words of wisdom. I will listen to them first before trying to understand my next move." I said softly, to which Clizby nodded slightly.

Alex didn't hate the Smith family, but that didn't mean he was okay with getting bullied. For his greater dream of making his parents pay, he will look closely at every option before him, the gains and the losses. One of my dreams was to be a billionaire, and I was sure one of the requirements was an open mind and looking at the whole chessboard. So, he was going to listen to their side of the story. He would even record it so he could go over it many times, and go over their words.

'I need to start learning to read body language,' I thought while going to YouTube, and began to start looking up videos on the topic...
