1 A New World

'What.. happened to me?' Don Krieg couldn't see anything but darkness. He couldn't feel his arms or legs either, he felt as if he wasn't even in his body anymore.

'Did the Rift fail? Am I.. dead?' A myriad of emotions were felt by Don, primarily disappointment and regret.

"Don't be disappointed too fast, mortal." A soft yet firm voice reverberated throughout the darkness as a bright light in the silhouette of a man emerged. Don was agitated seeing the appearance of this being.

'Who is that?'

"Who I am is of no concern to you, mortal. What I am, however, is close to what you humans would call a God." The voice of the self-proclaimed God echoed across the room, however Don didn't doubt that that was actually the case. After all, what normal being glowed?

'You can read my mind.. you must really be a God then, I suppose. Then, I guess I truly died.' The sense of regret again came to him.

"Yes, you are in-fact dead. Normally you would just be put into the cycle of reincarnation, but unfortunately the cause of your death and the timing was completely different than what was destined to be, due to the mistakes of the upper realms."

'What do you mean by mistakes?'

"The device that you created, the 'Rift' as you call it, was in fact operational and should have worked, but instead due to the careless indirect actions of a certain God, the device itself was affected, resulting in your untimely death."

'What happens then, to the God that messed up and made me die? It was you, wasn't it? How will I be compensated?' Don felt a little annoyed at this God before him, but that was all. If his intuition was correct and all the novels he's read doesn't let him down, this one careless God would do him more good than harm.

*cough* "Well, yes, it was in fact me who was the perpetrator of your death, it was a total accident. For compensation, you will be able to go reincarnate in any world you desire, fictional worlds included, with 3 wishes as well."

Don felt elated as his intuition was correct. He could go to any world he wished! The boringness of his previous world will no longer plague him! If Don had a face at this moment, a brilliant smile full of joy would be seen on it.

'Alright, I'll accept your compensation. Let me think for a moment for what exactly I want.' Don hid the excitement in his voice and spoke with little emotion.

"Good, good! Yes, take all the time you want -- time doesn't affect this void space." The careless God's previous emotionless tone was replaced with a relieved one. It appeared as if he was inwardly nervous the entire time. After a couple of minutes of contemplation, Don made up his mind.

"I'll reincarnate into the Naruto world in the warring states era. My first wish is to have the purest Hanma bloodline, the second is to have insane muscle hypertrophy, and the third is to be able to travel to different fictional worlds.'

"Alright, all of that is taken care of. Now, begone -- and may we never meet again." The being lifted his palm facing Don and he was pushed out of the void space and into his new body, which was now a fetus.

'YOU COULD'VE WARNED ME FIRST!! Bastard.' Don cursed the careless God repeatedly in his mind, but quite frankly, the God didn't care.

Don, now a nameless fetus, felt his Hanma blood course through his veins and his mind slowly but steadily transformed into something else, but Don didn't fear the sensation. He welcomed it with open arms. A massive will was starting to form inside of his soul.

He quickly searched inside of himself for his chakra in order to awaken it and found it, but quickly decided not to awaken his chakra until after he was born. He knew that if he did it while he was still in his mother's womb, she would die from the massive chakra he had. He didn't know how exactly much chakra he has compared to the Kage or the tailed beasts, but he sensed his mother's and it was at least ten larger, unlike his mother's which was much smaller than her unborn son.
