14 Chapter 14 - Karyu

In a place near a village called Holy Spirit Village, a seemingly 5-6 years old boy could be found checking his surroundings while appreciating them at the same time upon seeing the bewildered expression painted on his face.

"I really can travel to another world." The boy said with surprise and excitement. He was none other than Lev, who just arrived in a new world with his completely new body. He keeps on looking at the place he was as he appreciated it for a while before looking at his current body.

A while back, when he was still in the white room, Lev modified himself back to 6 years old seeing how small he had become. In addition, he started filling in some information about his parents, and his history and decided to transfer his body to Holy Spirit Village where everything started.

"Well, there's no time to stay idle here. I need to get going so I can see how magical this world really is." Lev smiled and looked at the village ahead. Yes, the world he decided to conquer first was the world of Douluo Dalu, a story that he could only read and watch in the past. Calming himself down, he was about to walk when suddenly….

[World-level Quest triggered.]

[World Description: Douluo Dalu world was categorized as one of the most dangerous worlds in the vast universe. A world with magical beasts and strong cultivators where wars and conflicts could be found all over the continent. However, all other things, Douluo Dalu world was also one of the most beautiful worlds to live in.

'So, this is the quest I need to complete. Well, unifying the mainland is something I have already thought about, but talking about the God Realm, such a thing would probably take more time since it would probably also mean going against those beings above. This is tricky but why am I smiling with excitement just by thinking about it." Lev muttered while smiling. He thought about the mission for a while before setting it aside since he needed to be awakened first before anything else.

Right after that, Lev then continues heading toward the center of the Holy Spirit Village as his first thing to do. Truth to be told, Spirit Hall branches can be located everywhere on this continent but thinking about it, he chose this place for a reason.

It did not take a long time before Lev arrived at his destination. He looked around and thought that the place was pretty normal as there was nothing special about the place. He then just appreciated the surroundings for a while before deciding to stand behind the other children and wait for the event to unfold.

While waiting, Lev kept on looking around as if he was looking for someone. He would check on every person he would see before seeing him finally stopping as he stared at an old man walking together with a young boy beside him. He was sure that it would be his first time seeing them in reality but something inside was telling him that the identity of this old man was surely Grandpa Jack whereas, the young boy beside him was Tang San, the protagonist of this world.

Tang San, who had felt something looking at him, turned around and saw Lev. He looked at him before knitting his brows while looking at him with great curiosity as he already knew about his strange stare right from the start. Not knowing why he was looking at him like that, he then just didn't think about it and shifted his attention to the young man dressed in a completely brilliant white cloak on his back who just arrived.

'Now that I take a good look at him, Tang San was really just an average person when you look at him right now. Well, not that I care about it. I'm more curious about what kind of spirit would I awaken. Let's focus on this for now.' Lev then also put back his attention on the current event at hand since this will pretty much also his starting line in this world.

"I don't have time, so let's begin immediately." The young man in the name of Su Yuntao said while looking at the children who were looking at him with awe, excitement, and nervousness at the same time.

Following the short message, Su Yuntao then finally ordered the children to line up.

"I am called Su Yuntao, a twenty-sixth-ranked Spirit Grand Master, and I will be your guide for today. Now, I will have you undergo spirit awakening one by one. Remember, regardless of what happens, do not be afraid." Su Yuntao introduces.

Next, Su Yuntao took six black stones and one sparkling blue crystal ball and placed the six black stones on the ground in the form of a hexagon leaving the children with nothing but curiosity.

"Watch carefully, Lone Wolf Body Enhancement." Su Yuntao said and used a spirit ability as he magically became a creature like a werewolf making the curious and nervous children scream in fear after seeing him transform like that.

"I said don't be afraid. This is my spirit, Lone Wolf. If one of you is capable of becoming a spirit master in the future, they will also be able to employ similar abilities." Su Yuntao said proudly upon seeing the expressions of the children.

"Let's begin." With that, Su Yuntao finally called the children one by one and it didn't take long before he felt very disappointed as all the spirits awakened by the children were all useless such as sickles, pickaxes, handkerchiefs, blue silver grass, etc, and for the worst, with no spirit power at all. As time passed by, he was slowly getting exhausted, but he still intended to help the children complete the awakening process.

Lev, on the other hand, was completely surprised as he couldn't stop his hands from shaking with excitement upon hearing several notification sounds from the system inside his head.

Seeing how things unfolding, Lev was about to ask the system what was happening but stopped midway when he suddenly noticed that it was already Tang San's turn seeing him looking at Su Yuntao seriously at the platform.

In the process of awakening Tang San's spirit, Su Yuntao's eyes finally started brimming as he was getting excited as many golden flecks that were even more than the previous children possessed together could be seen all over Tang San. He sensed that something powerful spirit would appear, but his expectations immediately shattered as he saw a blue silver grass floating in Tang San's hand.

"aarrhh, a useless spirit again. You boy, come here quick." Su Yuntao's disappointment was all over his face when he called another child.

"Uncle, you still have not checked my spirit power." Tang San said as he interrupted Su Yuntao as he felt like he was being ignored just because he awakened a blue silver grass as a spirit.

Hearing such a thing, Su Yuntao was completely not interested since it would not matter but because of Tang San's persistence, he could only give in and spare some of his energy to check his spirit power.

Following Tang San's touching of the blue crystal, Su Yuntao was dumbfounded by what he just saw as he said with bewilderment, "H-Heavens, It's actually innate full spirit power."

Meanwhile, Tang San who heard Su Yuntao's words curiously asked, "Uncle, what is innate full spirit power?"

Su Yuntao could not stop himself from explaining as he looked at Tang San and told him about some of his knowledge about this so-called spirit power.

"You, come here quick." Though Su Yuntao was surprised by the spirit power of Tang San, he was still filled with disappointment upon recalling that the spirit he just awakened was the useless and common blue silver grass.

Lev, who was looking at Tang San, then shifted his gaze toward Su Yuntao upon hearing and seeing that he was pointing at him which he then calmed down as he moved forward before Su Yuntao started the awakening ceremony.

In the process of awakening, Lev felt something warm building inside him. He wasn't that unfamiliar with it since he kind of experienced the same after fusing a bloodline back then and so he closed his eyes and felt a power being injected into him for some reason which was making his body hot and light at the same time.

Following the system's notification, Lev opened his eyes in surprise and curiosity as he was kind of familiar with what his spirit was. His mind was already filled with questions at hand as he badly wanted to ask something from the system, but as he was still in the process of awakening, he stopped himself from disrupting the process thinking that it might cause him problems.

"What spirit is this? Why does it look like a tattoo." Su Yuntao's brows knitted with curiosity after seeing Lev's spirit as this was the first time he had such a spirit throughout his life but he did not dwell deeply on it as he thought that it was still probably a useless one due to how ordinary its appearance was.

"Let's check your spirit power." Su Yunato then said. Not wanting to be asked again, he then proceeded to check Lev's spirit power.

Lev nodded and then touched the blue crystal.

"What!!!. Another Innate full spirit power. Hmmp, I don't know what your spirit is, but you qualify to become a spirit master." Su Yuntao said with contempt. He was actually jealous upon seeing two children in this remote village having innate full power that was paired up with useless spirit. He thinks that if only he had such luck, he might probably already reached some heights on his own and live a life of greatness.

Following that, Su Yuntao spends another half an hour finishing the awakening process of all the children that have come however, his disappointment could only continue after awakening useless spirits from the rest.

"That's all for the day. I'll leave first as I still have to go to another village." Su Yuntao then said as he left immediately without looking back.

Meanwhile, Lev who was still hung up due to excitement, continued to linger around before he left the place as he headed towards the forest where he first appeared to recollect his thoughts from the events that just happened.

Tang San, on the other hand, looked at Lev's back with curiosity. One thing that kept bugging him was the fact that he gave him a unique first impression, but another thing piqued his interest and that was because Lev also awakened as an innate full spirit power like him.

"What's wrong, Tang San?" Grandpa Jack suddenly asked and interrupted upon seeing Tang San's face. He felt like he needed to comfort the child upon thinking how the Spirit Master Su Yuntao belitled the spirit he had awakened.

"Nothing, Grandpa Jack." Tang San answered with a smile hiding the fact that he already printed Lev's face on his mind. Unlike Granda Jack's thought, he wasn't really disappointed at the spirit he just awakened thinking that there must be a purpose for it and so explored it when he grew up.

"Well, let's go home and see your father. I hope he would be excited." Hearing Tang San, Grandpa Jack then said before they started heading back to bring the news of Tang San's successful awakening.

At the lake,

"It's really more exciting seeing it in person than reading or watching it online." Lev said as he rested under the shade of a tree near a lake. The ambiance and the mysterious aura of the surroundings where even a normal tree from here was really different from when he was on Earth.

"With my spirit that looks like an ordinary tattoo to anyone, I feel like I could do more things with them. Looks like the system intervened and gave me this unique power unknown to everyone." Lev said while smiling as he kept on looking at the spirit he just awakened.

Description: The flame dragons in the anime of Flame of Recca. Each dragon has its special ability and power that can help the host. To summon a dragon and use its ability, the host must write the name of the dragon.]

"Seeing how this world works, the flame dragons will probably become my spirit ring every time I advance my spirit rank. System, is my guess, right?" Lev said that he thought that such a thing was very obvious given the situation of his spirit however, there was also a problem together and so wanted to confirm it first.

[Yes.]

"System, as far as I remember, there are only 8 flame dragons, If I advance to a Titled Douluo, should I hunt down a fire dragon spirit beast in this world?" Lev then finally asked the system with curiosity since it was the truth. Though he doesn't clearly remember everything that happened in Flame of Recca, he was once a person who watched it and knew some of its content.

[The host need not worry as there are 9 flame dragons.]

"S-So, it's like that. There is only one way for it to be possible and that is unless a flame master regrettably died where another flame dragon will be born hence, Recca must have died." Lev leaned at the tree behind him as he completely understood the system's reply even without telling him the entirety of it.

"Enough for that, It's not like I'm an acquaintance of him. Well, I'm just wondering what kind of power he possessed after becoming a flame dragon, but I doubt the system would give an answer for that." Lev followed as he remained unbothered, but he was actually hoping for the system to say something as he waited silently.

As if the system was dumbfounded by what Lev was talking about, it really remained silent and didn't react which made him sigh with disappointment. With that, he just got up again as he thought that it still wasn't time to relax since he still had things need to clear first.

"Then, can you tell me how will I improve my spirit power? Should I also need to cultivate like everyone else? Or do I need to do something?" Lev then asked as this information was the most important that he needed to know right now since his life and journey depended on this.

[Entering any world, the host will normally follow the power scaling of the world. In the current world, the host would follow the spirit power as everybody does, however, unless a specified way of leveling up was imposed by the system, the only thing that would help the host to level up was through killing either beast, monster, human, demon, or Gods.]

"That's fine by me. Then how can I summon the flame dragons to become my spirit ring once I've reached the threshold?" Lev asked once again after understanding it loud and clear.

[The host just needs to write their name.]

"Okay, let's try this then since I'm eligible to summon the first dragon with my spirit power." Lev nodded as he then tried to write the name of the first flame dragon on the air just like how Recca would do back in his world.

**Nadare**

Magically, after writing the name Nadare, a spirit ring then started to form on his back, from which a flame dragon with a thick eyebrow and a long distinctive mustache, and soulless blue eyes suddenly came out. Following its summoning, the dragon then roared and moved toward Lev's back and became a tattoo.

"T-That's amazing but why does the tattoo print on my back and shape like a pattern instead of a name?" Lev, whose clothes were burned from the summoning, felt strength pouring inside him but he instantly calmed down as he pondered after looking at the tattoo on his back through the projection of the lake.

Nadare: 1st flame dragon

Description: As a dragon, it has thick eyebrows, a long distinctive mustache, and soulless blue eyes.

Skill: Shapes the flames into numerous fireballs that can be shot out at once. The fireballs can be controlled, and the size can be manipulated.]

"Just like the original." Lev said after reading the description of his spirit ring given by the system which was completely copied from the original.

"System, why does my spirit ring color white?" Lev suddenly asked with curiosity as he noticed the strangeness of his spirit ring. He was very familiar with its color ranking and the thought that he was at the lowest of the low made quite a problem.

[Karyu's age and power were given by the system and so can't be measured by this world, hence, making it white.]

Hearing the reasonable explanation of the system, Lev then started studying his spirit while resting but his peace then came to a sudden stop after he heard a rustling sound on the other side of the lake. Having no clue on what and who it was, a sudden nervousness appeared on his face.

Suddenly, a wolf-type spirit beast came out staring at Lev like prey. No matter how you see it, it was a completely different wolf from the wolves that could be found on Earth, especially after seeing its color and number of tails.

"Scan". Lev tried to calm himself down and used the system to scan the wolf to know more about its identity and ability.

"What? It could even see the items that would be dropped. Perfect, let's test my power with this spirit beast then." Lev looked at the spirit beast with surprise seeing how convenient the system was. In addition, he also felt a sudden relief after seeing how young it was upon knowing normally that the younger the beast the weaker it was. With that, he then motioned his hand and wrote something in the air.

**Nadare**

"Nadare, come forth." Lev said which a dragon then came out. Knowing Lev's intention, the dragon then turned into several fireballs floating beside him. Not wanting to waste the opportunity, he didn't wait and initiated the first attack by controlling the fireballs toward the spirit beast.

Seeing the sudden attack of Lev, the wolf-like spirit beast used its ability to evade the incoming fireballs, but it was already too late as Lev skillfully controlled them and hit its body. Without even having the opportunity to counterattack, the wolf-like spirit beast died regrettably and a spirit ring then came out from its body.

"T-That's too weak." Lev's eyes widen while saying after experiencing his first ever battle. He was also surprised because somehow, he did not even feel bad and guilty seeing the dead body of the spirit beast despite seeing and killing it personally with his own hands.
