Taylor felt the touch of Amy's hand on her back as she shuffled her chair closer to her side. Mistost sighed, a lonely, sad sound, and folded his hands together in front of his robes. "Dear Itaea," he murmured. "How I miss you, my beloved friend."

In the midst of the Eye of Karan, the sky continued to darken as stormy clouds rolled in. Itaea was now pacing around in small circles, her ears pricked and her lovely eyes alert. Suddenly she stopped pacing and drew her lips back into a snarl. Her eyes fixed on some point in the distance and the fur on the ruff on her neck stood stiffly on end. She gave a low, rumbling growl that made Taylor's blood curdle.

"This is so tense," murmured Amy. "I feel as if I'm watching a horror movie and the babysitter is about to open the closet."
