The bozdogs began splashing determinedly across the shallow water towards the terrified group. There must have been at least 20 of them now, Taylor thought. Their hackles were up and their fangs were bared as they made their deadly way through the dingy swamp.

"Ok, I've had enough," said Amy quickly. "This isn't fun. Come on, Taylor. I don't want to do this anymore. Let's go back through the mirror."

"That isn't possible," said Everett. "You can't get back to the gateway. Look. The maggarts have now arrived." He pointed back the way they had come, back towards the spot where Amy and Taylor had landed in the Realm. A large group of maggarts now stalked their footsteps, their eyes flashing dangerously and their hooked beaks clacking.
