Chapter 7

Eric went with the guide and as Eric watched how the guide treated him, he liked the guy as he treated him normally and didn't ask questions other than necessary ones, and as Eric went to the place to get his pass, he got his pass after they looked up his information but as he did, the guy seemed to wanna laugh at him, and Eric just shrugged it off as he could care less, he probably found out he was 12 and he chose to be a hunter, as the guy questioned him about his age just to make sure, he then answered before guy said "Good luck kiddo" while holding his laugh, and as he left, he heard the guy he just talked to from afar, tell a buddy of his, "Did you see that kid? That's a 12 year old that wants to be a hunter, wanna make a bet....." and as he did, he ignored it as he could care less about a nobody gate guard, and they weren't really warriors, well they were, but because of an injury, they chose to become a gate guards as he saw the fatty who laughed at him was missing an arm, and his friend was missing an eye and ear.

Eric was guided by the man he never got the name of, and as they walked there, the man started explaining the basics to Eric as it came with the guiding purchase that he bought, and after walking for 15 minutes, he stopped and said "Head straight ahead for another 9 minutes, and you'll get there. I won't be guiding you any further, good luck on your quest customer" and as he said that, he started walking away, and as Eric saw this, he thought "I would have rated you guys 4.5 stars on google maps, such a good place but...it's only need once really" and so he started heading in the direction the guide told him, and after a while, he started hearing noises and started walking slowly as he held the ax in his right hand, he then heard something and as he did, his eyes focused and then he saw a tier 1 monster and as he saw it, he then thought "So there are 10 tiers of monsters from what I learned, and from 6 and above they become rarer to see and the 8th is rarely seen, but that drunk said that the 9th and 10th tier are just legends now, and there are myths of the 11th and 12th tiers in very old records from long ago..., but I didn't get much information after that, since the guy started throwing up...anyway, it seems like that dog looking monster species lives around here by looking at this guy and how there sold in the market" and as he thought of this, he looked at the monster and it's dark purple eyes, he then started walking up to it and as he did, it noticed him, and this is what Eric wanted, and as it noticed him, it headed straight for him. Eric watched as it got closer, and he watched it with curiosity as it did, since he saw it running to him slowly, and he noticed it wasn't that it was slow, it was his eye's just reacting faster, and so he watched and let go of the ax and as it got close enough, he dodged its jump and while it was in mid-air, he grabbed it by its tail and pulled it as he lifted it and smashed it to the ground and as he succeeded in doing so, he heard it groan and saw it cough up blood, he then looked at it, and saw it couldn't move, so he crouched by its body and as he saw it couldn't even move its legs, he thought "Did I break its spinal cord? Sucks…" he then put his hand around its neck and squeezed lightly before he heard a snap sound and saw its head falling to the side, and so he poked it a bit and made sure it was dead.

Eric looked at the monster and took out its crystal from it's head and put away it's body into a bag after cutting it legs, and after all that, Eric heard a snap of a twig and looked to his right and as he did, he saw a tier 1 monster running to him, this one seemed a bit bigger than usual and as it came to him, he watched it run to him and jump and he did basically the same thing as the last monster, but this time, as he used to much force, he ripped off the tail, and as he saw this, he looked at the monster groaning in pain and just squeezed its neck, he then noticed more coming and as he did, he thought "Noise or blood?", so he took the axe and saw two running at him, and it looked like they didn't care that there wasn't another monster here, and as the two saw Eric, they jumped and Eric thought "Typical" and so he ducked and made and arc slash above him and cut both their heads off in one motion, and as he did, he started packing them up, as he heard no other noise, but he kept one of their feet with him as he walked and dragged the half filled bag, and as he started to eat it raw, he felt just a bit stronger warmth than eating it normally and it couldn't compare to eating a crystal, and as he ate, he made sure he was by himself, as this would be an odd site to see, so as he ate and walked, he killed a few more tier 1 beasts and started to leave as the bag got stuffed, but as he walked in the direction he came from, he saw a monster sniffing the path he came from and as he saw it, he thought "Looks a bit bigger than normal, and uglier" and as he did, he just walked up to it, dragging his bag, and as the beast saw Eric, it typically did what all monsters he met till now, attack in a staright path and as it did, Eric noticed it was much faster than the rest, but still slow for him, and this time, he dropped everything he was holding as he let the animal, get close to him, and as it did, he stabbed his hand through its head, and just grabbed its crystal as if this was normal as he tried it 3 times already with the other tier 1s from just a whike ago, Eric then thought about how easy this all was to him and as he didn't use his power thingy at all today, but he noticed something as he took out his hand from the monster that died instantly, tier 1 monsters had dark purple crystal in them, while tier 2, well, they had a light purple crystal in them and there blood and meat where both light purple as well and as Eric saw the light purple crystal in his hand, he then looked at the blood on his hands and saw it was a lighter purple color as well, he then looked at its dead open eyes and saw it had a lighter purple color so he thought "Hmm, should have paid more attention...but never mind that, I was just gonna buy me one of these here guys, but to think it's a tier 2 dog...thingy, so they can evolve to a higher tier? Interesting…." and so he tried to fit the beast in the bag, but as he tired, he found he couldn't fit the 1 leg in there as it was two stuffed, and so he took out a tier 1 beast leg from a monkey looking tier 1 and put the tier 2 beast leg instead, he then started walking back as he ate the leg and he already tired 2 different species of tier 1s, but they gave the same warmth and not anything special either as he took bites from this monkey earlier and a large cat looking monster, and he did this thinking there could be a difference in the warmth he gets,but none, and as he walked, he ate it faster than how he usually does, he then finished eating it as he left the forest but with its blood, he covered the light purple blood around his hands and sleeves and after that, he started heading for the tribe, then its gate and as he did, he showed his gate pass to the guard and the guard who saw his pass was the one who sold it to him earlier today and as he looked at the huge bag Eric was carrying, he gave out an awkward look, and he just let him in without asking questions and Eric thought the man would cause him problems....but no apparently, and so he thought "Maybe he's low in the hierarchy of guards or he didn't want the other gate guard to hear as they did make a bet and the other gate guard isn't here at the moment"

Eric went to sell all the beast meat, other than the tier two beast and the smallest 1 tier one beast that he had, and as he did, he made around 10 utips, and in total he had now 17 utips, and as he saw this, he thought about the monster crystals being the main source of income, since this was a sad amount without selling the crystals, still he didn't plan to sell any unless they did nothing for him, he then went and bought some grains and bread with 6 utips leaving him with 11 in total and as he looked at the amount he got from the food, he thought "So we have food, but it's expensive... and look at this amount..., I'd rather just eat monster meat".

Eric headed home and he dragged his stuff as he walked, since even if he put them on his shoulder, they would hit the floor since he was short and he kinda liked dragging it as he could care less what others think, and as he got home, he noticed it was getting kinda late, and so he looked at bag that was holding the tier two monster and smiled, he then started a fire and got ready as he started cooking a piece of its meat and as it cooked, he put the crystals and utips that were in a pouch, inside his hay bed, he then went back to his food and start putting some seasoning on it while looking at the beat down knife... as it was apparently tough to cut the tear two beast with this knife, but it was easy to just rip it apart with his bare hands, and before you know it, it was ready, and as usual, he ate it scorching hot as it didn't seem to affect his mouth. Eric, as he ate it, felt a strong empowering warmth again that he missed and as he ate it, he ate a few more pieces and then more until he felt...full? Eric felt full and couldn't eat anymore and this was a first to him, he thought "Is it because too much energy?... or something else…" and as he did, he stopped the fire in the clay oven.

Eric stored the cooked tier 2 meat to the side and felt his body heating up, and as he felt this, he thought, "Should I try to eat more...like is it the energy? Or is it just me being naturally full?... actually, that last guess shouldn't make sense right?" and so he tried and ate one more time, but now he just felt bloated after eating one more piece of meat, and so he thought "Yup, it's this warmth energy I get from the meat" and as he did, he looked at his bed of hay and went to sleep after storing the meat.

Eric slept and woke up the next day feeling refreshed, he then looked at his bro that was standing tall, as if he was ready and so he thought "At ease soldier" and smiled as he got up. Eric started stretching after he got up, he then thought about going hunting today, so he filled his small water satchel from the big one, and looked at the tier 1 meat in the bag next to the water satchel, he then looked at his door and the covered windows, and after, he left the tier 2 meat that he cooked yesterday as he still felt a little full and ate the tier 1 meat and as he did, he noticed he barely felt anything now, so as he learned this, he guessed "Kinda thought that from that last leg I ate yesterday, as it did nothing for me..., so now there useless to me" and as he saw this, he went and ate one of there crystals and found out it still gave him warmth, and so now he would just keep the crystals until they were useless and he would sell all the tier 1 meat that he gets. Eric grabbed the stuff he needed after giving himself a bath, he then looked at the cloak he bought but never wore yet, and left it for now as he didn't need it... yet.
