1 A train to Durgapur

I walked into the aisle, searching for my seat. It was 51st seat in the third compartment. I walked into the dark lit seat of mine. I had no one sitting facing me. I felt the air of solitude flowing through.

"Hello", a soft voice echoed,in the compartment.

" who's that",I reared up of astonishment.

A pair of jaws showed out of the darkness. It bore a sadistic smirk to it.

"I thought no one sat in front of me", I said.

" perhaps the darkness fooled you" she laughed.

After regaining my composure, I asked" Where are you heading anyways"

"Durgapur"

"Ohh so you will be getting off the next station"

"Yes"

Ending our long chat I glued onto my e book, disconnecting myself from the world. Thoughts interrupted me, of how she must be looking, after all I had saw only her jaws wearing a set of smile, a wry one.

I again sank into my book, after few chapters.

I said "ohh, you just missed your platform we just crossed Durgapur"

"Hello madam hello are you still there"

I got up and switched on the light. The compartment had only an air film and myself. Just then the TC arrived, "ticket please sir."

"Here it is, could you tell me who sat facing me here". I asked

"We didn't give this seat anyone, sir", said he.

"Don't try being a cantankerous"

" I ain't sir no one got this seat"

"But..."

He walked away and I sat there perplexed.
