6 Chapter 5( Missed)

The ride took almost thirty minutes before we saw the only establishment which seems an office in a small town. The hardwood as its design shows old spaniard theme. But there are renovations made.

I get out from the car and went inside the office. I immediately notice the name written above the small hallway. Attorney Alfredo Alcantara's Law Office

A middle aged woman suddenly came forward. She was sporting with a white button down shirt and black skirt. Her hair is on a clean bun.

"How can I help you Ms?" She asked politely.

I smiled at her and look around before answering.

"Uhm, well, I'm here on behalf on my mother, Vivian Rivera. Mr Alcantara have something to give to my mother and she can't come thats why she ask me to get it instead."

Recognition plastered on the woman's face. She nodded and smile.

"Oh the check! Come and follow me Ms Rivera." She said as she guided me to the next door on the hallway.

She press something on the intercom and she uttered my name. She nodded and then look at me.

"You may now come inside Ms. "

The door then opened. I shyly smiled and said my thanks before entering the door.

My eyes were then welcome by a neat and clean type of office. The office space is kinda big and there were another couch and a table on the other side.

A man who's back at me was just done dealing with someone on his phone. He was wearing a white long sleeve folded on his elbows and a dark slacks for his pants. His silver watch shines on his wrist.

He then turn his head on my direction and smile.

"You must be Vivian's daughter? Have a seat." The man said as he pointed out the couch.

"Thank you sir." I replied and then politely seated. He smiled and get his eye glasses on his drawer. I notice that even if he's on his late forties Attorney Alcantara's physique is somewhat far from his age.

"I wonder why Vivian did not personally come here and get the check. It might be a good time for us to catch up." Mr Alcantara said with a small smile on his lips.

I was puzzled with what he said. I mean, I just met him and I dont know much about my mother's friends. I laughed lightly while Attorney Alcantara or Sir Alcantara is getting something on his drawer.

"Mom is having a meeting today sir that's why she wont be able to come. Do you want me to pass a message to her?" I asked.

Sir Alcantara suddenly burst out laughing. My eyebrows twitched looking confuse of what's funny with what I just said.

"You dont have to Ms. Rivera. Your Mom wont probably like it. Well now that you're here, here's the check. Its so nice meeting you . Feel free to come here anytime and ask for anything that you needed."

I stood up the moment Sir Alcantara stand up too. He offered me the check which I gladly take.

"Thank you so much Sir. Uhm, are you sure you dont have any messages to my mom?" I asked again just to clarify if he really wanted to deliver such message or what.

Sir Alcantara shake his head with a smal smile on his lips.

"Nothing. Come, I'll accompany you outside."

Sir Alcantara then offered to take me outside the office. I was kinda embarrass cause most of the clients are staring at us. They might be wondering who am I and why did Sir Alcantara personally offered to accompany me outside.

Sir Alcantara smiled and waved goodbye when I'm at the front of my car. . I smiled at him and he then went back inside. I turn my back and my smiled faded when a car blew its horn.

My forehead crease when I saw the familiar car.

My breathing hithched and I tried to act normal as I saw Grayson coming out from his car.

"Are you alone?" He suddenly asked.

I pinch my hand and smiled a little. He's wearing a gray v-neck shirt and jeans. I then suddenly remember what happened a while ago. Eyes were sorrounding us right now. Something's telling me that I should be careful. The issue is not the clearly settled already. And I just met his fiancee! Its kinda different now.

He followed where my eyes landed. His eyebrows furrowed looking at the people I was looking at.

"Yeah. I was told to get something. By the way nice meeting you here, I'll go ahead." I said while turning my back at him.

My heart beated widly as I tried to open the cars door. My hands were totally shaking and the door happens not working!

"Damn it! What's wrong with this door." I whispered frustratedly.

Just when I'm about to pull it again, a heat from the back envelop me. A strong arms suddenly pulled it and the door magically opens.

I laughed awkwardly and look back at him. He was serious as his eyes lingered at me. I shifted my weight as my heart is beating loudly.

I grinned to hide my embarrasent. "T-thanks. It was not like this before there must be wrong it now." I said while chuckling a bit to make the air lighter.

He didn't said anything and just only look at me coldly. I said my thanks again and turn my back at him while getting inside our car.

He actually offered to close the door too, with his poker face. He can clearly see me inside because the car is not tinted.

Thats why I did the most basic thing a friend could do.

I waved my hands at him and smiled. He didnt smiled back and just remain standing while staring at me.

Just about seconds and our driver started the engine. I let out a heavy sighed. I think I did the right thing. This is what friendship with him means. I should start acting casual at him this time. Eventually this attraction will fade. I know for sure.

"Have a safe flight. Make yourself healthy and dont overstress yourself."

I said to my brother as we both standing now at the airport. He will fly back to New Zealand for his upcoming board examination. My brother was wearing a black polo shirt with a white pants. The black racini back pack is on his back and he have a small luggage. Bexley is standing behind me and I know for sure that she's feeling cold. I'm laughing in my head just thinking about what she's actually feeling right now.

My brother then tap my head and smiled.

"I will. Make sure that Mom and Dad are good okay? Lets skype if I'll have some time. Do well in your studies too. Don't do relationship first cause I'm not feeling it if I'm away. And I will eventually know if you're lying Adeline Saddie." He sounded serious.

I laughed at it and shake his hands off on my head.

"What about Bexley?" I said.

My brother eyed me seriously and I grinned.

"Bexley! Come here. Say goodbye to your husband!"

"Saddie!" My brother said frustratedly.

I glance at my friend and I laughed at how red she is right now. I arch my eyebrows at her and mouthed come on. She rolled her eyes at me but then she eventually move forward.

I was smiling as I step backward to spare them some time. I look like an idiot smiling so bad while looking at the tow of them. My brother never have any past relationship before. I mean, for almost six years of living together abroad I never saw him with a gilr or hook up with a girl!

He was more focus on his studies that sometimes I tease him being gay.

But seeing him now flustered while talking with my friend is kinda different.

Actually there not that close. I was the one who's pulling some tricks so that they'll have each others company. I wanted my bestfriend for my brother. I know that there are rules and someone might think that its not good for your siblings to have relationship with your friends but I dont know why I really like them to ended up together.

It was after a minute when my brother called me. I didn't notice that Bexley is beside me already. She smiled at me then she look at my brother. I come forward to give my brother a last minute hug.

"I'm gonna miss you. Be good okay." He said as I hug him tightly. He kissed the top of my head and I nodded while sighing. I dont want to get emotional sending him off. But I cant stop my tears from falling.

"You call okay?" I said with teary eyes. He only laughed and nodded. After that he turn his back and get his stuff. I waved at him as he's entering the line now.

"Come on, lets have some ice cream?" My friend suddenly said.I smiled at her and she smiled back while wiping some tears on my cheeks.

I stiffle a smile and nodded at her.

I know that my brother will be okay there. I wish for his success and good health. I'm gonna miss him so much. We used to live together for six years. I really depended on him more than to my parents. I sighed. But we can still do video call. I made myself okay with that thought and just enjoy the day.

Tomorrow will be the first day of my freshmen year. I hope I can adjust easily with the new environment this time. I want to make friends while studying here.

Friends. I shake my head off and laughed a little. I already have one. I thought to myself.
