A Grade Zero Ability User

Adam pays for the veggies on the polythene bag he was holding, a notification message from his phone rang, and he glanced at it, his brows moved slightly, his account balance is now 0 cents.

He exits the greengrocer shop, now he doesn't have enough money to take a cab home, he must walk home, which will take him around an hour.

Adam sighed heavily as he approached the billboard ahead of him, which was advertising the number one hero, the Absolute one.

His cheeks moved slightly as he turned to face his home direction.

"Mom, what grade will the Absolute one be"

"Of course it's grade twenty"

"Woah, That is the highest ability grade, so cool!"

The boy's joy soared.

"I want to be like the Absolute One"

Adam stopped walking, he wanted to say something to the boy, but he realized he had nothing to say to him, and he would probably be branded a weirdo if he started encouraging the kid, after all, he is just a grade zero ability user.

Grade zero is said to be the lowest grade ever awakened by an ability user, and he is the only individual on the planet whose super ability begins with zero, as well as his level.

Humans with superhuman abilities are graded from one to twenty, most people's grades begin at two to three, and their level is always one, nevertheless, certain special ones begin at grade eight, and so on.

The highest initiation grade ever recorded is fifteen.

Only a few people on the planet have such a terrific start, and they are typically the ones who reach the highest grade, which is twenty.

Moving up a grade requires a lot of resources and effort, each grade has five levels, each of which requires specific levelling up crystals and other equipment.

Adam was unconcerned about these details, he had tried numerous times to progress his levels without being successful, perhaps there is nothing to advance.

He glances at his wristwatch.

'Finally, thirty days left.'

Adam pulls a little book from his pocket, carefully flipping through it, there are some things he hasn't used here, he was about to slide to the next page when someone seized the book from his hands.

"Yes, the best dictionary in the world, Adam Claus special ability. Dictionary!"

Adam frowns seeing Benjamin was the person who snatched his book, this is one of the people that is making his academy life a living hell.

They keep disturbing his ears with their blubbering words.

"Hand it over, Benjamin. I have no time for this"

"Is that a threat from Zero boy!"

Benjamin looks at Adam with a mocking smirk on his face, he can't believe this brat is still attending the academy, when will he see the academy isn't for him, perhaps today.

"So what are you going to do, Zero boy"

Benjamin took a step closer to Adam and thrust his head forward, indicating that he wanted to be hit.

"Are you going to hit me?" He looks at Adam for a moment before his lips form a half-smile.

He straightens up with a look of supremacy.

"I thought so, how can you hit a Grade four ability user like me, I am far stronger than you, in strength, speed and even in the brain"

"My power is super strength, a push from my finger can fracture your bones, so imagine if you had hit me earlier, your hands would've been broken by now"

"You sure think highly of yourself for a mere Grade four user" Adam observes the dark alley at the corner of the pavement.

"You guys can come out now, surely Benjamin is too weak to take on somebody like me alone!"

Benjamin's face hardened, how dare this brat make mockery of him, he doesn't need these people, they are only here to spectate the little show.

The three boys emerged from the darkness, they were super abilities users too, and their grades were three, two, and one

"You didn't bring enough"

Adam sounded, feeling a little sorry for Benjamin as he faced him.

"At least a hundred of them would've posed a minor threat to me"

Benjamin couldn't hold his anger anymore.

"Shut up Adam, what is your ability anyway"

"This fucking dictionary, perhaps you should go work in the library, no book fully explains super abilities than this, not only does this book have all the known abilities in the world, it's also have details of the changes in each grade"

Benjamin opens the book and quickly searched for super strength ability, then he carefully looked at the changes in each grade before he sounded.

"At grade four, I can easily break a normal human bones. Even your ability says I can obliterate your existence"

He looks at Adam with a scorn expression.

"Adam, you should become a professor so you can educate the world more about us"

Adam was getting tired of his blubbering.

"Can you just state the reason you are here"

Benjamin's cheeks moved then he throws the book away.

"Our boss wants you dead"

He cracked his knuckles as he walks to Adam.

Adam asked calmly.

"By your boss, do you mean Oliver, so this has to do with Nora after all"

"Since you know, stay away from her…."

Benjamin punched Adam on his face, but his eyebrows raised seeing his punch didn't seem to have any effect.

"I thought you said you can easily break a normal human bone"

Adam sigh with an expression full of disappointment.

"My late grandma punch was better than this, and she is 150 years older than you"

Benjamin face squeezed.

"Shut up!"

He punched Adam with all his strength, but the results was the same, however, he felt agony in his fist bones.

Adam's cheeks moved.

"Finally, you are almost at the same level as my late grandma. Mind you, she was a normal human!"

Benjamin face hardened more.

"You fucking brought this to yourself Adam, I am fucking going to shred your body to pieces."

Benjamin brought out a special dagger from his back pocket, the other three abilities users also brought out their daggers.

"Go on your knees, and apologize to me, then you will promise to live Nora alone"

"And if I don't"

Adam remained calm like they weren't a threat to him.

"Then…. Then…, we will just kill you"

Benjamin and the rest ability users moved to Adam simultaneously.
