Can you do something other than healing?X

"I...don't feel like I've burned myself."

I lift up my hand and look at it. It's not burned?

"Your hand isn't burned. Are you immune to fire!!!"(Tara)

"That's way too op, I think it may mean something else"

"What?"(Tara)

"That healing isn't my only element!!!! Yes, I was kind of bummed thinking that I only had healing since I always wanted to attack and shit, but I might have fire too!"

As soon as I said that Tara's eyes sparkled with curiosity.

"Let's test it out!!"(Tara)

"Yeah let's.... wait we can't, yet."(Luis)

"What do you mean?"

"People could notice. If we do it inside we might burn down the building and if we try outside people will see us."

"So then, how do we find out if you do?"

"... We can go on the roof and test it out. Doing so during dead of night would probably be ideal. During the day would also be okay, and I would go up right now but I kind of want to see about how far healing could go. So I want about 3-4 hours to try my healing"

"I see your point."

"Well then, time to do some research"

"I thought you said you weren't going to use your fire."

"I won't, I'll research the same way every Otaku knows how to."

"Otaku?"

"Don't worry about it."

I left the room and headed to my sofa and tried to find anything on healing magic. Of course, that is assuming it works.

After some "research" I determined some things that I may be able to do with healing magic, well I say magic but I'm not sure if that's what this is, but I'll arbitrarily name it for now. I could try to heal away fatigue, this one will be somewhat useful if it works. I could also try healing from a distance, but I'm not sure how it would work out. I could also try and see if I can deactivate my own body functions it may be useful, like maybe turning off my nervous system and not feeling pain. But then I wouldn't feel myself moving either... Well, that last one may be useful for when we "test the limit." I could also try to scan my own body to search for abnormalities, but I don't know much about the human body so I wouldn't know if there would be any abnormalities. And I could also try my hand at healing diseases. So many things to do, well let's leave that for later. For now, let's focus on something more imminent.

"I am ready to go up."(Luis)

"Okay, let's go!"

We open the window and go up the emergency staircase. We live on the second floor and we don't want anybody who knows us to see us go up so this is probably the safest bet. We go up the ladder and get to the ceiling.

"Alright then, do we start. Let's see if we can make some fire"(Tara)

"Sure. Let me get into a comfortable position."

I go into the middle of the building's roof and sit down. I focus on my inside and try to focus on the flow of mana inside of me. It is somewhat faint, alright then breathe in, breathe out. I close my eyes and focus on my right hand. Alright let's try this, I create an image of a flame on my right hand. And focus on it, I start to sweat a bit, this is a bit difficult Not only do I don't know what I'm doing but I don't know what I'm searching for either. However despite that, I feel that something is on my hand, this is the same and somehow different feeling as that healing magic. If healing magic gave a burning sensation then fire just feels a bit calming on my hand. I decide to try to amplify that feeling on my right hand to the most. I hear someone laughing, is it Tara?

"HAHAHAHA!"(Tara)

"What is it? I'm kind of busy!"(Luis)

"No, it's just that, look at your hand."(Tara)

I decide to look, and there's a small flame on my hand. About the size of my thumb. I did it! Wait so then why is she laughing?

"Is that how you're gonna burn the house down?" she said in between laughs

I see so it's because of what I said before.

"Shut up okay, this flame could definitely start fires!" As I was saying that the flame decided to go off on me.

"Why don't you go to California? Maybe then you'll start fires'"

I started laughing along with her after that final remark.

"Alright, alright," I said calming myself down a bit. "But now that I know how It feels I can do it as simple as this," I said as I made a slightly bigger flame.

"Oh, some improvement, and this time you weren't ready to crap yourself. I'm proud" she said in a condescending voice.

"...Did it look that bad? It was my first time so I trying to feel it out."

"Yes, it did. You had that face for like 10 minutes and then you produced a finger sized flame. That could at best burn paper."

At best burn paper huh, wait I see a chance

"...Why don't we test that." I say with a small grin.

"Wha-what do you mean?"

"Why don't we test if it burns more than paper"

"...Wait...whatever happened to the code of chivalry."

"Whatever happened to equal treatment for both men and women?"

"..."

"Besides, I can heal you right after."

"That doesn't mean the pain will go away."

I was about to answer sarcastically when I thought. Wait I can try that numbing the area like I thought was possible with healing magic. I did think it was one of the possibilities for healing magic. But then again, what happened this afternoon, I look at Tara, she still has pleading eyes, goddamn it.

"From when I saw in anime, I may be able to use healing magic to shut off your nervous system or slightly weaken it so that it doesn't hurt as much. I'm not really sure though."

"The let's try it!." (Tara)

"Well then, But I'm uncertain of certain things. First is of course if it's even possible. Second, if it is possible to do I constantly have to feed you magic to shut off that part of the nervous system, in that case, it would be hard to use both flame and healing magic at the same time. Thirdly, would I be able to contain it to the area I want or would it spread throughout the whole body? Fourth, unlikely but we have to consider the possibility." I said as I grabbed her arm." is the numbness permanent after I use it?"

"...Ummmmm...we'll find out?" she says with a slightly worried look

"Well then, here goes nothing."

First I use the scan that I thought might be possible and it worked. I can see her nervous system. Well most of it at least, the further away from the arm, the less clear it has become. Alright, now I will try to slowly bring down the perceptiveness of pain in this area as much as I can by overloading the nervous system a bit. I see slowly that the electrical currents in the nervous system start going a bit slower than before. I was stopped, it's either my lack of knowledge about the body, lack of knowledge about the magic itself or downright impossible no matter how hard I try...

"So, can you feel your arm?"

"I feel it, but it's almost as if it wasn't there."

"What about when I touch it like this," I say as I grab her arm.

"...I barely feel your hand."

"Yes, and it also looks like I don't need to constantly feed you healing magic. It would be pretty hard to use two attributes at the same time the day you learned about them."

"True."

"Now we just have to wait and see if the effect is permanent."

"...That's something to look forward to".

"I mean look on the bright side if it happens."

"What bright side?!"

Shit looks like she was a bit more stressed about this then she let on. Ummmm

"...When you get a boyfriend you can take S+M play to another level?"

"Luis, that's just stupid plus the arm?"

I had an interesting thought.

"HAHAHAHAHA!"(Luis)

"What?"(Tara)

"I just realized how that would be."

"What do you mean."

"I imagined you going. 'spank me, daddy.' 'On your butt?' 'No, *in a seductive voice* my left arm.'"

She took a second thinking about it and then started laughing. It looks like that distraction succeeded. Well, then let's begin. I quickly start a flame on the hand that's grabbing her. She felt a bit alarmed.

"Did you just start your flame?"

"Yep, and I'm already finished," I say as I took my hand off her arm. It is slightly burned off the skin. So it is not strong enough to burn that much huh.

" I would appreciate it if you had warned... I see how you feel now when I smashed your finger."

"Only difference is that what happened to me hurt a lot more then what just happened to you."

"True enough. So it seems that that little flame can in fact burn. Just that it's only barely huh."

"Seems so, hopefully, my flame becomes stronger later. It would suck to find out you gained powers only to realize that you can only do what a human body can do itself as time passes by and you burn someone as much as a lighter."

"I guess, should we go inside then. It's already 10 p.m. Dad and mom already left for their job."

"I always thought it was kind of stupid that they both had a night job and sleep during the day. It should be one during the day and one during the night."

"I guess so... Well then let's go down. That was kind of an exciting afternoon don't you think?"

"I guess so," I say with a slight smile.

We head down the stairs and climb in through the window left from.

"Good night," says Tara as she heads to her room in a hurry

That isn't a good sign. She's probably thinking of doing something.

"Good night!"

As I walk down I feel as if a strange sensation. Almost as if something is slowly pouring into my body. I see, so there's probably a limit and it gets replenished as time passes. It's kind of gradual, a little too gradual if you ask me. Could I possibly make it faster? When I try feeling both my mana and the outside mana they feel somewhat different from one another. It seems that as I suck in the mana from the atmosphere it gets converted into my mana and then it's placed in my body. So then, could I slightly change the nature of my mana so that it is similar to the outside mana? Maybe then it will be slightly faster. I try to see if I can do that by focusing on the outside mana and trying to assimilate my inside mana. After I do so I felt a sharp pain throughout my body.

"Tch."

I guess no- wait, it worked! It feels slightly faster now, but now I feel really tired, could it be that by changing my inside mana my body has to adjust to the changes and so it needs rest just like when I passed out. Well, this one is more gradual so it's probably less extreme. Anyways, I have plenty of time to test it out another time. For now, it's time to sleep!

Author's worry: Hope nobody saw me fumbling for a good half an hour because I accidentally released all of the chapters that I have done that I haven't rechecked.
