They threw something that looked like a rock in the air, and then the rock they threw broke into countless pieces while airborne.

'I know that symbol, That's the symbol of The Burning Abyss, an antagonist organization I only introduced in the second to last arc, also one of the many plot threads I had no clue what to do with.'

'In the novel, I wrote that If their leader Dante who mind you was only foreshadowed, wished to destroy the world the only person who had a chance to stop them would be Samantha Stargazer, If not her then we would need The Tenth Hero.'

I continued to observe the individual from a distance, they opened their mouth like they were talking to someone, before leaving the scene via some form of teleportation.

'Shit man, it's just one bad thing after another. First I couldn't return to the academy and now The Burning Abyss is suspicious'

I managed to safely return to the dormitory, and as soon as I returned to my room I went to sleep.

When I woke up I sorted my thoughts.

'Okay so, The Burning Abyss is making moves this early in the story. Why is that? I don't know, there is so much I don't know about them. I don't know their goal, I don't know how many members they have. All I know is that in the last two arcs, they opposed the main cast.'

'Whatever seems like a problem for future me. Anyway, It's been at least thirty hours since I had a meal. Let's get something to eat, and then let's do some training, I ought to start some kind of routine.'

I showered and headed to the cafeteria, I got three times the standard portion since I was so hungry, while I was eating the door opened, and Alice entered the room.

She Ignored the enormous portion of food in front of me and said "Ah Alex I've been looking for you since yesterday."

"Why?"

"Did you forget? You said you'd be my sparring partner."

"Oh yeah sorry, let's go train after I finish this"

I eventually finished eating two days' worth of food and went with Alice to the Training Hall

Both of us picked up a wooden sword, and as we did she turned to me and said "Fight me with your sword style I will fight you with mine"

"Sounds good to me" I replied as I took my starting position

'Looking at the way he holds the sword, I can tell that he has just recently started to learn how to use it. How is it possible for an amateur to know a sword style? I can't wrap my head around it.' Alice thought as she took her starting position

I channeled mana mixed with water magic that I froze into my wooden sword. I created ice under me to build momentum as I charged at Alex.

He managed to block my strike, In a way that almost appeared like he predicted my attack

'He is slower than me, and yet he managed to block perfectly'

Since I took the tempo of this battle I planned to keep it, so I attacked again this time I aimed for his legs.

He jumped and avoided the attack.

I gave him no chance to counterattack, I am the only one attacking, and yet since the spar started five minutes ago I have yet to connect a single hit, not even a small one.

Something doesn't feel right, It's like he reads my mind and instantly comes up with a solution to my onslaught.

It would have been easier if I managed to get even a small hit since then his movements would be restricted because of the ice applied to him, but I just couldn't hit him.

I went for the legs again, this time I knew he would jump so I swung in such a way that once he was falling I could quickly reverse my motion, but this time instead of jumping he blocked the strike and pushed my strike back.

"I win." I told him, but somehow it didn't feel like a win.
