19 Ch 19

The power Immortals radiate harm most mortals as such when groups of high-powered immortals gather regularly it results in areas mortals cannot live.

This was the case for a city in the central continent. Cyprus the city of immortals was a place that forbid mortals from entering. This rule was so outstanding mortals had long stopped attempting to find passage.

On this day outside the south gate two figures came flying in. Landing in front of the guards the Immortal Lee and Mortal Hatzu stood.

"Mortal slaves are not permitted in this city" the first guard said.

"Who is this country bumpkin?" The second guard asked.

As the immortal Lee released his full Qi the guards showed shock but released two nascent souls and stood firm.

"Mortals are forbidden!" The guard yelled as a few more nascent soul cultivators came out to guard the gate.

Hatzu placed his hand on Lee's shoulder causing him to withdraw his strength.

"Its good you came to your senses" the guard captain said looking down from above when suddenly the earth began to rattle.

Hatzu looked up releasing his pseudo soul as it towered above the city walls. "I am the mortal cultivator Hatzu" he said. His voice shook the city and nation; "I have come to compete in your annual tournament."

"Mortals are not permitted into the city." A voice from above said causing fear in the crowd.

"Are you the city lord?" Hatzu asked as Lee smiled.

In the few days they traveled Lee quickly came to realize that Hatzu had stumbled upon nearly endless strength. Moreover, Hatzu was fearless and direct, honest, cleaver and proud.

"Yes, I am the city lord…" the man never finished speaking. Hatzu lunged upwards striking with a full force.

The city lord stopped the blow with a rotating shield that disintegrated on contact.

"You bastard!" the city lord yelled.

Hatzu drew his hand upwards and the air froze into a sword. As Hatzu struck downward with his blade the city walls where uprooted several Nascent souls where blasted away.

"I'm told you once took the city by force. I thought I might try that." Hatzu said dropping the broken blade and pulling out another.

One by one Hatzu pulled out weapons forged of ice out of thin air – hurling them towards the city lord.

Similarly, the city lord blocked and dodged working his way further into the city. Buildings where uprooted like leaves in the wind as immortal cultivators began releasing their strength and fleeing.

The monster out scene continued until the city lord reached his manor. Then like lightning his whole mentality changed. Swords began flying out of the windows crashing into Hatzu's ice blades. The clash sent shockwaves through the entire city bringing down the few remaining buildings.

"How could a mortal reach such height." The city lord asked truly confused.

"Why do those who can die claim immortality? You're like a child grasping at air."

Hatzu had fought often, he had won just as often. As he pressed forward, he was ever vigilant and careful not to cut off his escape roots. Unfortunately, the city lord was no fool; he withdrew a small locket which instantly stopped Hatzu in his tracks.

"Where did you get that?" He asked looking at the locket with intense desire.

"This was a gift from my faithful and astute student. When wandering the mortal realm, he came across this." The city lord said with a wicked smile. "Although this device has but one use, they say it is incompatible"

Hatzu furious, seeing his locket once again raced forward to finish of the lord. He fused the pseudo core and soul to bring forth a fully elemental dragon that towered over his body, pulling in the air, water, and dirt.

"I will end you!" Hatzu screened releasing every ounce of energy he had. Like a sun the city lit up shining as far as anyone could see

The city lord, breaking the locket yelled back. "Master key - Destroy"

The words shocked the planet as it was seemingly upheaved. Hatzu pulling out several flying feathers began to stabilize a platform only to notice they to where being pulled away, he struggled ferociously and to no avail. Soon the city lord appeared behind him thrusting a blade through his chest.

"Mortals have such short lives…" the city lord said blood spewing from his mouth.

"Wonderful" Immortal Lee said as he withdrew a weapon and struck towards the weakened city lord. "Who could have guessed you held the master key" he laughed as the bodies fell from the sky. As if it was slow motion, their corpses struck the ground with vigor.
