“Ahhhh!” she screamed and crawled back.

“Is this how you greet your saviour?” the skull asked.

“You are...Vincent?!” she exclaimed. “What happened to you!?”

A crystalline skull and a spinal cord with ribs attached were the only things that remained of him. A small mass of flesh could be seen inside his chest cavity, where a black pulsating sphere was embedded inside. The small mass of flesh stretched and formed something resembling a vocal cord right below the skull. Holes opened and closed within the mass of flesh as it took in the air and pushed it out through the vocal cord.
