The Cruel Nobles

"Alice, go to your banquet, your party is about to begin." Elizabeth gently said, "and remember to be polite to all the guests."

"Yes mother" Alice replied, "Let's go Sami"

The duo quickly arrived in the great hall, it dwarfed them in height. It was 15 metres tall and 20 metres wide, it was adorned in gold and white. Countless tables were packed with mouth-watering food, the nobles at the party were already conversing with each other. Deals were being made, people gained new friends and pleased smiles were on most peoples faces.

The children looked arrogant and haughty as if it was there party, however as Alice and Samael walked in the venue it went silent.

Fake cheers and sarcastic slow claps filled the hall, some of the young masters and madam didn't even hide the sneers of their faces as the looked at the duo as if looking at clowns. Mocking expressions surrounded Alice, after all even though she was the Royal Princess she was not their Royal Princess.

After The Emperor took over Britannia he abolished the rules of the eldest prince being the crown prince and made the most talented of his offspring the crown prince.

(whenever I say The Emperor I mean the leader of Britannia his name is going to be secret as it leads to an important part of the story.)

The original crown prince, was actually the eldest as he was very talented having a good physique and strong bloodline, he is currently 30 and is cultivating in the Tianjiao Academy. The Tianjiao Academy is a neutral territory that accepts geniuses from all races and all backgrounds.

As long as you reach Tier 6 before 17 you can go there but you must break through to the Emperor realm before 100 years of age or you will be expelled. After all this is a School for the best of the best and they don't accept anything less.

The school is located on a flying city directly above the centre of the world.

Even though Alice is the new Royal Princess, she has not made many allies or friends so the original Crown Prince is still the most supported in the fight for the throne. This has led to an increased isolation from nobles, added on to the fact that her mother was originally a commoner this isolation has evolved into disdain.

Furthermore, due to Alice's inherently friendly personality it allows people to run over her, once again increasing the disdain she is subjected to.

"Happy Birthday, Royal Princess, we wish you all the best." The their tones were filled with blatant sarcasm, it was sickening how they treated such a kind girl.

Just as Sami was about to speak up for her, Alice pulled his arm, using her eyes to signal her determination to get through this party.

They walked to the centre and Alice bowed showing her royal etiquette. Sami, just looked worriedly at his friend as he could clearly feel her emotions began to spiral out of control, he hastily tightened his grip on her tiny hand trying to show his support of her.

It clearly worked as she began to regain her composure.

30 minutes later...…

The Emperor had arrived wearing a purple and black robe, a black sceptre in his left hand and a gold orb in his right, he walked to his throne. As they saw The Emperor before them everyone respectfully bowed, only Samael doing a slight bow.

The Emperor saw this, however said nothing.

"Welcome, Your Majesty!"

"You may sit."

The nobles released the breath they were holding, these old foxes still remembered how the Emperor got his nickname.

"Happy birthday, Alice"

"Thank you, Your Majesty" Alice replied indifferently. She felt no familial love for The Emperor as he never helped her mother even going as far to detach their residences. He favours all of his concubines except her mother, how heartless can he be.

Everyone got back to socialising some of the more powerful nobles were beginning to talk to The Emperor as a way to evaluate what may happen to Britannia. The Dukes were not here as they are too powerful to care for a small Princess. Victoria and William weren't here because they were investigating the mysterious figures they fought.

It was time, for Alice to receive her gifts. A butler removed the fabric covering them and revealed the gifts.

A fake gasp sounded throughout the great hall.

The gifts were an assortment of coffins, wooden ones, metal ones, luxurious ones and dilapidated ones. Alice was confused, was this a threat, even if they didn't like her they couldn't threaten her in front of The Emperor.

"What is this?" The Emperor asked, even if he was indifferent he could not have someone threaten his spawn in front of him.

"Father" A prince walked out he looked about 12 years old with golden locks and brown eyes filled with arrogance. His lips were thin and pursed, his eyes sunken and nose slightly hooked, he would look slightly handsome but his haughty expression was unsightly. His name was Tobias.

"Auntie Elizabeth is always sick, we are just making sure my dear half-sister Alice has an assortment of coffins to chose from when she dies." Tobias mockingly explained.

Alice's tears began to build, agony was filling her mind after all she knew her mother might genuinely die soon but she doesn't want to accept that, she must save her. Alice's ferocious eyes glowered at Tobias, If looks could kill he would have died countless of times.

The pain was just too much for Alice, she ran out the hall her tears dripping onto the floor.

Sami was mad, his best friend was hurt on her birthday of all days, how could he swallow this pain, how could he accept this insult.

(This is her first birthday since becoming the Royal Princess, before she would spend it with her mom.)

As anger began to cloud his mind, he subconsciously used the time element to slow down time in a 3 metre radius, just big enough for Tobias to be in the range. This allowed Samael to punch the bastard's smug face sending him flying towards the walls.

This worked because of three reasons, Samael did this subconsciously allowing him to use the element perfectly.

Tobias is only Tier 2 one tier above Sami.

Third, Time is an element of rules making it stronger than other elements.

In this world aura has different variations called elements. The people of the world split elements into four tiers Common elements, rare elements, Pillars of the World Elements and Rules of the Universe elements.

Common elements consist of :

Water, Earth, Fire, Wind, Wood, Lightning, Metal, Lava, Poison, Ice and Neutral.

Rare elements, are elements specific to a race, bloodline or physique :

Blood (Vampires only)

Curse (Daemons, Liches and specific bloodlines/physiques)

Holy (Angels, Gods and specific bloodlines/physiques)

Devil (daemons, 'evil' gods and specific bloodlines/physiques)

Rune (Goblin and Dwarves only)

Crystal (Dwarves)

Healing (Elves and Mermaids)

Corruption (Abyssal Spawn)

Pillars of existence elements are stronger than the previous elements and much more rare, they are:

Life, Death, Dark and Light

Rules of the universe elements, If you have a decently high affinity in any of these elements you are a certified genius.

Time, Space, Gravity and Aether (Aether is the first version of aura, chaotic and destructive it is the rarest and strongest Element.)

The Emperor watched Samael rush out of the Great Hall, "Time element, How interesting." He thought.
