6 Fifth Nightfall: The Ring

As Yna opens her eyes, she met the white ceiling above her. She tried to figure out where she was yet she couldn't figure it out, it is just unfamiliar place.

"Yna, you're finally awake!" she saw Lizzy standing right by her side.

"Wh-where am I?" she asked clueless.

"In the hospital." It surprised her. "You've lost consciousness before I can call a cab."

"What-- ahh..." she suddenly feels pain through her head as she tried to pull up herself.

"It's not better if you move so sudden."

"Yeah," then she felt the bandage around her head.

"You've hit your head when you lost consciousness." Lizzy explained. "And I'm so glad that someone helps me to bring you here."

"Help?"

"Yes."

"Who?"

"A guy. A Good Samaritan. But because of the situation, I didn't have the chance to ask his name and ever since that day he never showed up."

"Since that day? What do you mean?"

"You've been unconscious for two days and--"

"What! Two days!"

"Yes and Mr. Mateo was too worried but now that you've already awake, he'll be very glad to know it," Lizzy answered though her mind was too conscious of what she just learned after she awakes.

… … …

"Jeff is she awake?" Carl Vincent asked worriedly.

Jefferson sited first at the sofa. "She's already awake and she's fine."

He finally breathes with ease. "I'm glad to hear that."

Jefferson nodded. "Anyway, are you sure you still doesn't want to see her?"

"I badly wanted to see her but I still need to do my duty first to finally be with her side. Right now, knowing that she's fine is already enough."

"Then, you've decided."

"Yes."

"You may handle your father but the Council was a different story." it seriously stated.

Carl Vincent sighs. "I know..." all he could say though through his mind, he was ready to take all the risk just to be with the woman he loves dearly.

… … …

"Thank you, Nana Ciello and Liz!" Yna gladly thanks them after they got home.

"We're glad to know that you're fine now," Ciello answered. "Anyway, I should get back to work, so Lizzy will be the one to assists you."

"Yes, Nana Ciello." Lizzy answered quickly.

"Alright then, I live you two." Ciello said before living them alone.

"I'm glad that you're fine." out from the dark, they both saw Samara hiding in the shadow that surprised them.

"Oh, God! Samara! You scared us!" Lizzy shouted out loud though Samara stayed so calm and cold.

"Thank you for seeing me," she said with a smile.

Samara stares at her intently. "This won't be the last one, so make sure to strengthen your health. There's more to come." it stated before living them speechless.

"What was that?" she heard Lizzy asked besides her.

"It's… nothing." she said. "Anyway, I'm tired let's go inside and let me take a rest." she suggested to change the topic out to Samara. Though, what she said lingers through her mind.

… … …

Yna was already lying in her bed when she felt the necklace on her neck. She lifts it up and holds the ring on it. As it hit the light, something caught her eyes that dazzled her for a while then a glimpse of memory comes in though.

"Ahh!" her head suddenly ache in pain losing out the ring out of her hand. "Wh-what was that?" then she sits back and took off the necklace to look into the ring then she notice something on it and it seems something was engrave inside the ring. 'Initials?' she silently said.

"C. L. C. A heart and V. R. A.?" she reads. "This is the same letters that was written on the letter. My parents name..." she said before taking a deep breathe when something caught her eyes from the outside of her window. 'Who might be it?' she asked in mind before deciding to stand up and go outside to see who it was.

… … …

"What are you doing here?" Yna asked in surprised after seeing who it was.

Carl Vincent gave up a sighs as he keeps staring at her. "I wanted to see you." he seriously answered that made her heart joy.

"I think I shall call Jessica." she said but before she can live he blocks her way. "What!"

"It was you that I wanted to see and no one else." he seriously answered.

"I don't have the right to be with you."

"Yet it is right to be with you."

Yna became speechless for a while. "No!" she denied. "Please, I'm begging you. Stop this. Just go and forget me."

"I can't." he answered. "You don't know how much I wanted to hold you forever and yet, I'm trying not to. Not until I'm free to hold you and to be with you."

"Then don't." she said. "Don't do such a foolish--" she was cut off when he suddenly hugs her tight. "Vince..."

"Stop struggling." he commanded. "Let it be for just a while. Please."

Yna was stunned yet she wants it so badly and wanted to last it long as they let their hearts sync as one, as the nightfall silently witness their stolen moments.

… … …

A dream…

"I created a key to help her ease the pain once the awakening takes place." A woman voice speaks out.

"And what was it?" another woman speaks.

"A ring," the first woman answered.

"A ring?"

"Yes." she answered. "It will be given to her before her sixteenth birthday."

"Though, you knew that you need a greater power to work it out and your power isn't enough to create it."

She sighs heavily. "That is the reason why I shall be part of it."

"You mean..." she just silently nodded. "No!" she madly refuses.

"That is the only way to make sure that the ring will be useful enough to protect from too much pain. This is the sacrifice I should do to protect our Princess." she seriously stated.
