11~Conversation

Time passed by.Luca started getting bored evading the stares of Kate.

'When are they gonna come?' said Luca trying to suppress the growls from his stomach.

'It must be dinner time already?'said Kate,hearing the growls and stirring of the chilldren.

Luca looked at the baby's corner.There were a few cradles between the wall and the kid's bed.The kid's bed were laying opposite to the big beds.

'Why are they sleeping now?'said Luca confused.He was aware the fact that babies like to make a fuss.This was the reason why he never wished for a sibling.His mother's weak body also made him unable to ask for a young sibling.

'Because,they are tired.'said Kate .Luca appreciated the fact that Kate no longer called him stupid.

'But they won't be asleep at night and will stay awake disturbing all the people and we won't be able to sleep.'rambled on Luca .

'Do you hate children or something?'said Kate looking at Luca's bewildered expression.'they are sleeping now cause they have to be awake at night.

Luca wanted to ask why but he felt like Kate will call him stupid again.He became aware that everything at Stakver was very different from home.Even though it was his first day outside and he has only been awake for seven or eight hours,he knew it was kind of abnormal at this place.

'So,where did you come from?'asked Kate.

'What do you mean?'said Luca with utter confusion.

'You appeared without any notice and everyone is very curious as to how you appeared out of thin air.'said Kate.

'I have been here for almost two months,you know.'said Kate,confirming his thought that no one except Jane and the men(and the Elder)knew he was alive and recuperating in a room in the same building.

'I don't believe you.'said Kate in disbelief.'I have never seen you at the kitchens nor at the dining room nor at the courtyard.If you were here you should have...'stopped Kate at the look of Luca's face that showed an "I.DON'T.CARE" expression.

Then the doors opened and the grown women started filling in.There was Jane picking up a baby,just like the others.They picked the waking babies up and went outside.Some stayed behind changing their dirty diapers.Jane beckoned them to follow.They went outside,into the well lit corridor(which was glowing warm yellow).They walked to the door opposite and the woman in the front opened the doors.The dining room looked beautiful but with the noise of everyone speaking over the dinner tables.It looked lively.The biggest table at the center was fully vacant.The women led them to a corner table and told them to sit down.

However,Kate stood up and went to the corner buffet table,taking a two set meals.He came back and gave one to Luca.Luca muttered a thanks and looked at the set meal.It had a bowl of soup(which smelled very delicious,two pieces of bread and some dessert pudding he has never tried before.

'These look delicious!'said Luca,gobbling up.

Kate nodded while chewing the bread.The dinner was not fancy but the delicious taste filled their stomach.They waited there and ate the pudding which felt like tasting a piece of heaven(this was only because he was hungry).
