1 Awakening

Assuming you've read the synopsis, Virgil removes himself from his gurney and looks around the cold dark hospital room to see nothing but old bottles of medicine and dark red liquids, resembling a blood like fluid in each. With only that and a note on a chair that reads, 'And so the night begins' Virgil turns to the only door he notices and opens it. Followed by a horrendous creek, the hinges on the door seemed to be intentionally screaming for everyone to know he was trying to leave his sick bed. Followed by a staircase he goes downwards to find a unlit lamp, with tiny bells attached to the top. And for some reason Virgil cannot explain, the same urge to snap at the messengers to command them took over him to the lamp and with doing so came a dim purple glow and the bells atop came to life summoning four of the little messengers with it, the tiny shy messenger being one of them. It seemed almost excited to see Virgil and Virgil for some reason was also excited to see it. It waved at Virgil and them returned to looking into the lamp and searching for refuge in its dim light as was Virgil. An unexplainable hope came from it's puny light, that warded off the dread that was filling him from his surroundings. The tiny light and invisible warmth radiating on him made him feel as though he were next to a bonfire on a chilly night...
