1 SHELLY BILL

Light of Hope Academy ( L. H . A ), is one of the prestigious secondary schools in the country.

Shelly Bill was excited when her parents enrolled her into the light of Hope Academy, she always wanted to be a student of L. H. A. When she was in primary 4. she knew that entering the light of Hope Academy would be a cinch for her because she was the governor's daughter, so her dreams were fast turning into reality.

Her father Jerry Bill, was a governor and was contesting for the presidency. He was also a philanthropist, while her mother Beauty Bill was of course the first lady of the state and also a businesswoman.

Shelly always dreamt of joining the entertainment industry. She loves dancing, singing, acting, etc. Being the governor's daughter, she knew it was an impossible mission like using a basket to fetch water knowing that it can never hold water. But she was resolute to fight till the end to make her dreams come true.

Shelly had a brother who was studying abroad, he was 20 years old and was studying a course related to politics, hoping to take after his father. Diamond bill was best described as a good looking, handsome, funny, brainy, and independent young man.

Shelly couldn't wait for her to be admitted into the light of Hope Academy. She would always pace around her room, thinking of how it would feel to be a secondary school student. She taught about her brother who attended a lesser private school being the reason that he wants to stay away from the public, to him attending an expensive private school could be chancy since he was the governor's son. But she didn't care about all that.

After one week of enrollment into the light of Hope Academy, she was finally given admission into the prestigious private secondary school, so she would be joining them the next Monday.

The next day which was on Saturday, her mother took her to the bookshop to get all the things she would be needing in her new school. While at the bookshop she came across an old friend of hers, Joan Williams from primary school. They exchanged pleasantries.

Joan traveled so they couldn't keep in touch with each other. Joan had a twin brother named John Williams, although Joan and Shelly were friends, she wasn't close to her brother John. After exchanging pleasantries, she was granted permission by her mother to follow Joan home. on their way home, Joan told Shelly a story about their ex - classmate charity, who was always bragging that she would attend the best secondary school in the country.

"My brother told me that, the charity went to a party last week and some gunmen attacked them, the gunmen told them to surrender their phones, laptops, jewelry, and all their valuable items. Charity surrendered everything she had except her phone because she bought it with all her savings. When she tried playing smart, wanting to call the police one of the gunmen saw her and fired at her, she was wounded in one of her arms.

When she was rushed to the hospital, the doctor told her parents that the only remedy was to cut off her hand. So she is now physically disabled. I wonder how she would be able to live among her peers, I pray she survives it " Joan finally said. After hearing the story Shelly was melancholic for a moment, she wounded what would become of the almighty charity.

Shelly finally broke the ice by telling Joan She has gotten admission into the light of Hope Academy. She was happy for her, but she told Shelly she would be traveling abroad for her secondary education with her elder brother. Shelly was not happy but there was nothing she could do.

After the long walk, they finally got to Joan's house. It was a very big duplex well decorated on the outside, Joan ushered her in.

she sat down comfortably in the sitting room and took a glance, she was amazed at what she saw. The sitting room was well decorated and furnished, it was incredulous for her.

Joan came out after a while and sat close to her with two glass cups of juice in her hand, she handed one over to her. She switched on the TV set, as they sip from their glass they watched a program on the TV titled "long night". As they were enjoying themselves, somebody walked into the sitting room unannounced.

Shelly thought she would never see such a face again, she was surprised to see John Williams. she instantly went berserk, Joan saw trouble coming she knew they were great rivals but never knew why. She had a kind of hate anytime she saw John, she quickly told Joan she was leaving immediately because she was no longer comfortable seeing her brother around her. " Are you leaving because of me?"John asked. "You better shut up your mouth if you know what is good for you "Shelly fired back in a raucous manner.

John asked her what he did to warrant that kind of action from her, but couldn't get a word from her. She stood up and left the sitting room to the veranda, Joan follow her, calmed her down, and asked her why she hated her brother so much, she picked up her phone and called her driver to come to pick her up. Her driver finally came and took her, she bade Joan goodbye, entered the car and the car zoomed off.

Shelly got home tired, she sat on the sofa looking tired. She glances at the wall clock, it was seven minutes past five. She walked around the house, realizing that her mother was not yet back. She wondered what kept her so long. As usual, her father was away on a business trip concerning his urge as wanting to become the president.
