Dyrnwyn

Alicia and Hannah looked at Kyle who had a triumphant glint in his eyes. He was holding a large object with both of his hands. He grunted a bit as he tried to lift the sword higher but he couldn't lift it off the ground.

"How did you get it off?"

"I just pulled it with both of my hands and it came off, although it was extremely tiring to do so."

Hannah walked over to Kyle and placed her hands on his backside. She gave him a massage and he let the sword drop down. Kyle let Hannah give him the massage and looked down at the sword by his feet.

It's length was hard to tell, it's weight was scary but its hilt seemed to be similar to a two-handed sword.

Hannah finished her massage when she felt Kyle's muscles relax.

"Feeling better?"

"Thank you, feels great!"

Kyle was now standing straight once more and asked for the notebook from Hannah. He read it, smiled and handed it to Alicia who also smiled.

"Let's go!"

This was Hannah who wanted to leave that area as soon as possible. She felt a bit uncomfortable. The three didn't even know where they were going but they walked in a group.

.....

(After ten minutes of walking)

"I think this is a safe place."

Alicia walked out of the forest into a large clearing with a small lake in the middle. She looked up to admire the view of the silver moon. It was a full moon that night and the sky was beautiful with stars twinkling every now and again.

Alicia could spend a whole hour just admiring the night sky but she heard the voice of her sister behind her.

"Alright I think we should get familiar with our wishes now."

"Why are you in a rush? can't we do that during the day..."

"I'd prefer we do it sooner rather than later, we might encounter some danger if we do it during the day."

"But it's safer during day time on most worlds that it is in night time when most of the powerful beings come out."

Kyle and Hannah were having their own conversation while Alicia walked over to the lake. The lake was small and still with a very calming atmosphere around it as Alicia got closer. She crouched low at the edge of the lake and admired the stars that seemed less bright than the ones above.

Kyle and Hannah weren't paying any attention to her. Alicia was tempted to dip her finger in the lake but stopped herself. She liked this calmness and causing ripples in the lake may disturb the creatures within it.

Assuming there was anything within the lake.

"I think we should try them out now, the sooner the better."

Alicia gave her own thoughts on the conversation between Hannah and Kyle. Kyle simply shrugged while Hannah had a large smile.

"Alright...then I think we should try Kyle's sword first."

Kyle had no arguments and struggled to drag the sword deeper into the clearing. He had left it at a tree on their way here because of the weight. He had recovered his strength so he returned for the sword and dragged it into the clearing. He dragged it until the sword was completely visible under the moonlight.

Hannah walked closer and had a clear view of the sword now, well the scabbard to be precise.

"The scabbard was made of what she could only guess to be animal skin. There were some golden threads weaved into the skin to form golden vines that spread out and branched all over the scabbard. They seemed to sprout from the tip of the scabbard with a red colour around the edges of the leaves. She had mistaken this red for black earlier.

Kyle was catching his breath and was also looking at the sword. It was definitely a two-handed sword. His father had taught him swordplay when he was young and this type of sword was the first one he was taught to handle.

Kyle got up after recovering his energy and tried to pick the sword up. He placed both hands on the sword grip and held firmly.

"Step back."

Hannah understood and took a few steps back with her sister walking closer to her.

*******

(Kyle POV)

This sword sure is heavy...but I had the desire to see how well I could handle it. I wasn't planning on lifting the sword but just swinging it until I could properly assess how much strength I would need to properly lift it up.

I got into the position my father had taught me with the flat part of the blade facing upwards. I placed my right hand below the guard since it was my dominant hand and my left hand around the spherical pommel.

I slowed my breathing and placed my left foot farther behind me. I balanced myself properly and set my eyesight on my right hand. This would be the axis for my sword swinging. The sword was to my right and I planned on swinging it to my left in as straight an arc I could manage.

My right arm was straight and my left slightly bent.

[remember to guide with your right arm.]

I thought of my father's words and copied what he had demonstrated last time.

I was ready and made sure nobody else was standing close. I started my swinging motion with my right arm straight and my left pulling the sword.

It was tedious at first but I was quickly gaining momentum and was struggling to balance as the swords weight was threatening to tip me over.

I had done three rotations before the sword had raised high above the ground and was above my head.

I then brought it down with all of its momentum and my own strength and hoped I hadn't struck one of my friends.

"BOOM!!"

*******

Hannah and Alicia watched the entire process and had stepped farther away from Kyle. The sword in his hand was now a blur of gold and red as it was brought down to the ground and a loud sound rang in their ears just before several chunks of dirt started heading their way.
