1 Tragedy Within!

It happened two days after the Ōmisoka festival ( almost at the end of the year where people do the general house cleaning [Ōsōji] to welcome coming year and not to keep having impure influences.) my family (Hakaru family) went on a end-year shopping, my dad, mum and my little sister Akane Hakaru...

Dad drove the car, mum was sitting next to him, Akane was sitting right behind her at the back seat, and i was at the other end staring outside the window, looking below the bridge as the car moved on. I was carried away by the reflection of light on the water as it winkles around itself...

"Aiko, what plans do you have for the Ōmisoka?". Mum asked. I wasn't really sure of an answer to give, i don't really have a plan for it, i just want to have it done like a normal life Japanese young girl...

"I don't really have a plan, we just have to clean the house and..."

And that was all i could remember for that night, i could hear peoples voice hailing in my head, i tried to open my eyes as i swong my head to the right, Akane was lying down next to me almost not moving, dad and mum were nowhere around, i could smell burning tyres within, dad's car was straight in the middle of the road, i couldn't tell if it was upside down, but it was wrecked and was on fire...

"Was it an accident?"... I thought

"Pick her up now!"... One of the men shouted from the crowd as i could hear the sound of the ambulance siren blowing from afar, i couldn't tell what was happening, feeling the pains from my head, it was intense and i could feel the taste of blood in my mouth... Then i blacked out!... It was an accident!!!

I woke up in a hospital, everything seems wierd, i sat down my mum wasn't there, dad, Akane... no one was there. Then a nurse came in, she was holding a record book in her hand... As soon as she saw me, she droped the record note...

"Oh my God!..." She exclaimed and ran off the room... I was puzzled, stood up and took the note up, i looked at the date and it was written

"27th June 2023 - Hospital report.

Patient name: Aiko Hakaru

Condition: Still on rest no sign of movem..."

"It was 2018 and it's 2023???... 5 years! Did i...?". Thoughts keep running in my head as i scroll through the record note. Then the doctor came running in with the same nurse that just bumped out. We stood staring at each other..

"Oh my goodness you are awake!!!... I can't believe this..."

"Who are you, where am i and what am i doing here?" I asked still puzzled...
