1 Introduction

Many people said the Earth was Once a beautiful place, it was then a place you can comfortably live in without any worries of dying just by walking outside the wall. There wasn't even a wall as tall and thick as this before. There was only peace and harmony between the human race. There were plenty of plants to supply air, bodies of water were once blue and most soils were brown. There was a time when only the human race had occupied the earth. And it was the most peaceful era. But that was centuries ago.

Within 2 centuries, the earth has become nothing like it was before. I had seen books and photographs of the earth. I have seen animals in books that I have never seen in person before. There were billions in the human race but most of them were slaughtered by different species and creatures that had invaded earth searching for a home and then claiming it theirs.

In the year 2050, creatures began coming from the skies and started bringing hell onto the ground. Unlike many in the human race, they spit fire, they jump as high as an 8-story building, they can move from one place to another within seconds, they were fast, they were strong and they move and make things using the thing called 'magic',

The human race which was the owner of the earth was at a disadvantage against the other creatures. From 8 billion, they fell to only 5 million after war broke out between the other races who invaded earth and got caught in it. Without anything, no magic, no fire, no abilities. Guns cannot even penetrate their skins. The disadvantage had lost billions of life. If it weren't for vampires to come to earth and were the last creatures to enter the earth before the Mages sealed it.

Vampires needed human blood to survive. And after a few years of both races fighting with each other, they had come to an agreement to live together. Vampires had the same abilities as other creatures. They can use magic like Mages, Some of the same clans can spit fire, they were strong and fast but unlike the others, they need human blood to grow stronger.

They made a treaty with the human race. Vampires needed human blood to survive and humans needed protection to avoid distinction. They made a tall wall that only humans and vampires can come into and reserved the best soil with the best source of water for them to survive. They needed to split the property in 2 to avoid vampires coming for humans when they needed blood. Humans would only supply what they can give. Because of the treaty, they cannot hurt humans to get what they want. While on the other hand, humans had to supply blood every week. 5 million of the human race can supply enough blood to 3 million vampires that have come to earth. They give enough but vampires couldn't control their hunger which is why they had to be separated.

A few years later, the mages started going after other races' properties and places to expand their own territory. In able for them to start taking over the earth, they made war between other races. There were races who had been wiped out and some have become slaves of the mages. Vampires stand next to Mages when it comes to the power ranking. And with the current vampire population, it was a disadvantage.

But in able to fight, the Human race and the Vampires made a new system. Where people from both races will be trained in order to go out of the barrier together to protect what was inside of it. They will be trained for years before going out of the barriers to fighting whoever may attack. Either other creatures who were planning on taking over their territory replace their own or mages who have decided to target their race next.

In this system, the barriers will be opened once a year. And a group of vampire and human pairs would come out to join the army living outside the barriers. Each Human will be paired with a vampire to supply blood when they need it. And also, to join the battle. They were trained for years and taught how to dwell a sword made to defeat other creatures and also to bring support to the vampires who will be on the front line.

The vampires get to choose their blood suppliers. They will be given blood samples to choose who they wanted to be with outside the barrier. Human blood's taste differs based on the vampire. That is why they have to be the ones to choose.

As years went by, the army became bigger and bigger and the number of creatures appearing outside the barriers increased. This year, another batch will be going out for the first time in their lives. This story starts off with the first taste of the new system.
