Hidden Behind the Door

"Uhh, yeah come inside." Muriel said looking at the boy weird. 'Why he here? We hardly spoke to him.' "Where is everyone?" Muriel let out another shaky breath. "Molly is sleeping, Shay.. I honestly don't know and Y/N was outside." She said while looking at the demon she barely spoke to.

"Wait, she wasn't outside when I showed up." Spencer said.

She raised her eyebrow. "Are you kidding me?" She asked while running to the door. She quickly ran out to the yard while looking around. "Y/N!!! Y/N!!" She yelled out with her hands cupped in an 'O'. "Damn it!!" Muriel cursed as she looked back at the front door. Spencer watched her looking a bit nervous. "It's okay. I'll just look for her. Make yourself at home but please don't bother them. Definitely not Molly, please." Spencer nodded as Muriel quickly ran aimlessly looking for Y/N.

_____________

Spencer watched Muriel run away clearly not knowing where she was going. He turned around as he looked up the stairs. He closed the front door while making his way to the stairs. He looked up the stairs as he didn't want to wake Molly. He teleported to the top in front of the first door he came across. Putting his ear up to the door he could hear soft mumbles followed by something ripping. Spencer held his hand up to the door. He softly knocked on the door as he didn't want to wake Molly. "Shay, I understand your in pain.. We all are. But.. please don't close yourself from everyone. Muriel is in distress. Please, if anyone let me in. Maybe I can help." It was quiet as he didn't hear anything. Spencer sighed as he thought it was a long shot. When he was about to walk downstairs he heard the door unlock. Spencer's mouth gaped open as he was shock he actually unlocked the door. Spencer turned the knob while peeking inside. His heart sank as he saw several crumbled pages scattered across the floor. Spencer closed the door behind him as he hunched over grabbing a paper. He straightened the paper as he focused on what Shay was doing. Spencer's heart fluttered when he saw a fully detailed drawing of Jess but incomplete from the torso down. "Your trying to bring her back, aren't you?" He spoke in a gloomy tone. Shay didn't say anything as he was still drawing. Spencer could see Shay's hair was sticking up in places he could only assume he had been tugging on it. Spencer grabbed three more balled up drawings while approaching the distressed boy. "Shay, I know you want to bring her back to life but you killing yourself won't do it." Shay remained quiet. Spencer could feel an eeriness vibe from the shorter brunette. Spencer realized he needed to focus on wording his phrases better or he would get kicked out for sure. He looked down at the three drawings. The other two were focusing all the detail on the torso while the other was forcing on the bottom half of her. Spencer looked at the current drawing Shay was working on. Spencer saw the heavy detail in her face. He looked back down at the other drawings. "Shay, I know you don't want to hear this but you have everything you need all around you. Your errors you see are really just puzzle pieces slowly forming. You might not know it but her puzzle pieces are scattered all around you. Your blinded by making ONE perfect drawing. Your stuck in an endless loop. Let me help you open your eyes to bring her back. It will take time. If you want her as amazing as she was, you will HAVE to take your time. Don't rush it. Make her just the way she wanted. She wouldn't want you to rush your work, especially on her. She would want you to take your time on her perfections. I can help by looking for different detailed pages and combine them together but.. I need you to take a breather. You being this way will not help you get her back sooner. The more calm you are the sooner she will come back. Okay?" Spencer said hoping he wouldn't get kicked out of the room. He tensed as he saw Shay drop his pen. Spencer didn't move as he was ready for the boy to yell at him. Instead Shay looked back at Spencer. Spencer could see the pain in Shay's green eyes as they were bloodshot red with dried tears all down his face. Spencer remained quiet as he knew that was for the best. Shay scooted his chair out while looking around at all his balled up pages scattered on the floor. Looking back at Spencer a fresh tear fell from his face.

"You can help me? Do you think it'll work? Please, tell me you think it'll work." Shay managed to say through the knot in his throat.

Spencer felt a tear build up himself. "Yes, I think you can bring her back but please, if you do take your time. Focus on who she is and what she looks like. Don't rush into making her. She deserves all the time in the word. Her creator needs a break from this. You need sleep, you need to eat, you need your friends right now."

Shay stood on his feet as a huge head rush hit him. He groaned as he placed his hand over his head. Looking up at Spencer he spoke up, "Thank you for opening my eyes. Are you serious when you said you can help me?" Shay asked.

Spencer gave a reassuring smile. "Yes, I will help you. Why don't you sleep and I'll collect your simple errors and draw out the puzzle pieces. This will take a few days but it'll be worth it in the end."

Shay chocked up on sudden tears as he flopped on his bed. "Thank you so much, I don't know how else to thank you." He said while covering his face. He felt a hand rest on his shoulder. "You don't have to do anything. Repay me by resting and getting in a right set mind. Clear your head and rest. Be there for your family, they really need you." Shay breathed out as he laid back on his bed. He felt all his muscles relax immediately. Letting out a relieved sigh Shay closed his eyes. "Thank you." He said as he slowly drifted to sleep.

Spencer sighed in relief himself as he didn't expect all that to actually work. Spencer looked around the room collecting all the balled up pages. Once he collected them all, he pulled Shay's chair out while making himself comfortable. He flipped through all the pages as he grabbed Shay's pen he was drawing with. Spencer drew small circles on the details that caught his attention the most when he last saw Jess. If anyone could remember every detail about her, it was him. 'Don't worry Jess, we will bring you back. I'll be sure of that.'
