The discussion

/*For the people who are thinking aluminium was never there in such a medieval age, honestly I didn't believe it too. Then I looked up 'history of aluminium'. Found out that that this shit is more older than we think*/

Gawen spent half an hour inside tinkering with the hammer on the metal. He wasn't actually doing anything but he had to make some sounds to confuse Endrew outside. His 'system' was his magic and he didn't want anyone to know.

At least not now!!

After half an hour he came out with two new bows. One was the compound one and the other one of the recurve bow. After the upgrade both of them looked perfect.

The recurve bow looked shiny with a straight bowstring attached, while the compound bow looked complex with more than one bow strings attached but nevertheless it looked fancy.

"Endrew if anybody comes, and asks, tell them you made these bows and I gave the ideas. Never tell them that I made these 2 bows. Is that understood?" Gawen said before he left the shop with a more authoritative tone.

"Yes, My Lord." Endrew replied with all honesty that he mustered up in his voice. Endrew really didn't want to be on the bad side of this new 'innovative' Young Lord. He had become famous in the town because of his horseshoe and now it seemed like this Young Lord could actually make bows too.

And from the looks of it, quite the crazy ones!!

Gawen went back to inner bailey after taking a bunch of arrows. As he reached the inner bailey he saw his sister eagerly waiting for him. Yesterday night he promised a new bow and asked her to come to the inner bailey to get her new babies.

And Gawen didn't disappoint.

"Eh.. What is this bow? Never seen something like this!" Erena said as she pointed out to the compound bow which looked futuristic but it would definitely look very weird to a new person.

"You can try this later. First try this wooden one. I call it a recurve bow. It has better range and aim." Gawen said after he handed over the recurve bow. There was almost nobody at the inner bailey as many were still drunk from yesterday night thus it was empty and Erena didn't waste any second in trying out the new bow.

And the recurve bow which was upgraded by the 'status' panel was perfect. Erena was excited after she used the first arrow in it. The bow was more accurate and even the arrow travelled faster than normal bow and with sufficient more impact.

"This is amazing. How did you even make this?" Erena asked.

"I didn't. I asked Endrew to just make the normal bow better and he followed my idea." Gawen said as he still didn't trust everyone one to 100%. His previous life's suicide horror was still with him and he needed time to trust someone again.

Erena squinted her eyes at him but didn't ask more about it. She looked at the compound bow after shooting 3 4 arrows on the recurve.

"What does this monster do?"

"Whatever the previous one did. But better." Gawen replied.

"Really now? Care to let me try once?" came a voice from behind. It was Robb, followed by Jon.

Gawen didn't expect that these two would be sober early morning after the quantity they had drunk the previous night.

"My Lord, of course you are welcome to try." Gawen said as he handed over the compound bow without any hesitation.

"Seems like you really don't remember me. You never called me Lord in private." Robb said.

"Uhhh... " Gawen didn't know how he should answer this. Yesterday Robb called him brother which was already odd and now his words suggested that they might have been close friends before, which was a surprise. He didn't remember any such settings in the series and since he never read the books he couldn't tell.

"I hope we can be friends again like before. I will help you recount the memories of yours." Robb said.

"Then I will be grateful, my Lord." Gawen said. Robb didn't try to change Gawen's form of addressing him. He could understand that Gawen was still feeling awkward due to his loss of memories and forcing anything on him would not yield a good result.

Robb then smiled and nodded his head and took the compound bow from his hand.

"This is light, even though it's made of metal. Good work. I am not sure about this many bowstrings." Robb asked.

"My Lord, you only need to use one, the other bowstrings are attached for providing more force to the arrow." Gawen said.

"Oh. Let me see." Robb said as he took one arrow and put it in its position. He stretched the bowstring as Gawen suggested and aimed at a target point which was put far away.

And then he released it!

The arrow travelled extremely fast and with pin-point accuracy it hit the target. But that was not all! The arrow lodged inside more deeply than a typical arrow should, showing off the strength that the arrow possessed.

And it was much deeper!!

Robb, Erena and Jon couldn't believe it. They had their eyes opened by seeing such a performance. Robb used another arrow to see if what had happened earlier wasn't a fluke.

And the next arrow too gave the same performance.

"This is amazing!" Robb said. Later both Jon and Erena tried the bow and they too found out that this bow had more power and accuracy. And the power was a whole lot more than they expected.

"Gawen, I want to buy this bow."

"Uhh... My Lord..." Gawen hesitated a bit. Arming a neighbor with a powerful weapon would be stupid move. Though they were the vassals of House Stark, at the end Stark were their neighbours. The inclusion of bow might even lead to unwanted attention from others.

Robb could clearly see his hesitation and smiled.

"The Gawen I knew would easily give away the bow without any second thought. But now it seems you think a lot before you make any decision. That's good. I want this bow for myself and not for House Stark. I want it for my own personal collection." Robb said at the end.

"Ahh.. Sorry about that My Lord. I just don't want people to come after me. And I can only make a few with what I have. I will make 3 or 4 bows for you. Is that alright? On the promise that you will never say that it was me who made it." Gawen said.

"Deal." Both Robb and Jon said it outloud.
