5 The boy who created happiness

Harry without a doubt was surprised, of course he would be he didn't expect a new system function to appear today, but it wasn't all bad though, when he completed the quest he'd finally unlock his magic and so much sooner than in his past life too, Harry had to plan something amazing for Snape and he knew exactly what to do. Finalising his plans Harry ran to the potions room where Severus was Harry knocked on the door quietly noticing that Severus was writing something.

"Can I talk to you please Severus" asked Harry trying to sound as polite as possible. "Can we go to diagon alley so I can get some things please, pretty please" Harry tried to put on his best puppy dog eyes impression to sweeten Severus up, seeing Harry act this way Snape couldn't help but let out a small chuckle.

"Of course we can when do you want to go and which shops are we going to, oh and shall we require storage bag" Snape asked Harry getting to his feet and closing the book he had open, Harry noticed the title of the book 'potions for beginners' the book itself had been sitting on the shelf for quite some time, so what was he writing this peaked Harry's Intrest to no end, but first things first the quest.

"today hopefully" said Harry "hopefully as soon as possible and I want to go to a shop that has parchment and um and the book store oh and maybe some ice cream please and yes we need the bag but I'll carry it" seeing Harry acting so nervous Snape couldn't help but chuckle to himself he picked up the storage bag from a shelf and gave it to Harry to hold.

"Well let's go then Harry, do you remeber how to use the floo powder, of course you do we'll go to the leaky cauldren from the floo network and then gringotts bank for some spending money" Harry was happy that Snape had agreed and had a massive smile on his face and ran off to get ready, it only took five minutes for Harry to be fully dressed and in his coat hopping from one foot to the other waiting for Severus with the pot of floo powder in his hands. Snape couldn't help but laugh out loud seeing this, he took the pot of flooe powder from Harry's hands and got him to take some "ok let's go Harry" Harry threw his powder into the lit fireplace and said the address they were going to, Snape quickly followed him "The Leaky Cauldren" Snape spoke in his usual quiet voice that had just a hint of happiness in it.

Harry was waiting for Snape next to fireplace speaking rather excitedly to Tom the owner of the Cauldren when there was a flash of green and Severus was stood there neat and tidy, not a single peace of Ash on his cloths unlike Harry whose coat was singed and had Ash on his nose. Snape walked over too Harry and kicked his thumb and proceeded to wipe the Ash away quickly trying not to embarrassed Harry too much in front of the other patrons "Afternoon Tom, well let's go Harry you've got some shopping to do and we don't have all day" Snape took Harry's hand and nodded to Tom as they walk out, they first headed towards gringotts taking out a hundred and fifty galleons, Snape was amused to see Harry with his arms up in the carriage on the way to the vault squeezing in delight as the carriage went faster and faster. After they left Gringotts the two walked to scribbilus to buy the parchment and a quill that Harry had wanted keeping it in the bag after that they had ice cream at Florean Fortescues, Harry having pistachio flavored ice cream and Snape having raspberry ripple and finally they went to Florish and Blotts where Harry had made Snape stand outside while he bought whatever it was he was buying.

"have you got everything Harry" Snape asked Harry looking down at him, Harry looked up and nodded with a surprising blush in his cheeks "Well then let's go home I'm sure dinner will be ready very soon" finishing all the shopping Snape took Harry's hand and went back to The Leaky Cauldren, they got into the building where Snape thanked Tom for the use of his floo network and went home in two green flashes.

Over the next 3 months Harry had stayed hidden away in his room only coming out for meals and any lessons he had with Snape, trying his hardest snape tried to find out what Harry was doing but boy could Harry keep a secret and with this January the ninth came.

Harry again left his room but this time he had an envelope and a package in his hands, he looked for Severus all over the house to find him in his usual place, the potion room to find him writing in the beginners potion book again. Being the polite boy he was Harry knocked thrice on the door and spoke to Snape "um hi Severus, I have a birthday gift for you" Harry was staring at the floor at this point acting really shy and really cute as he shuffled a few steps forwards with his arms outstretched with the gift towards Severus. Taking the gift he unwrapped it to see a book 'Rare ingredients and where to find them' Harry must have seen him looking at this book awhile ago and decided to get him it. Looking up at Harry he had a large smile on his face when he noticed Harry also holding an envelope out towards him still staring at the floor. Snape took the envelope and opened it In a swift Well practiced movement and unfolded the letter and read it in silence before he burst into tears.

The letter read 'Dear father I love you very much and thank you for all the care you've given to me even though I know I'm not really yours, but I'd like to be and want to take your name as my own if you'd let me and have a happy birthday'

Snape was so happy he had waited for this day so long, to be called dad by the boy he'd come to love as his own. Harry looked up at Snape with a small smile and a blush before saying.

"Happy Bitlrthday Father"

Snape had never been happier.
