2 Griffith Academy

While walking down the path to the adventurers academy Dakota couldn't help but wonder why the doctor said good luck to him. The whole journey so far was peaceful. The animals that Dakota didn't recognize didn't bother him or any other travelers along the road so he assumed they were relatively docile.

Once of the animals looked like a cow from his old world. There were slight differences albeit, this one had two sets of udders and was a staggering 12 feet tall.

"This world sure is strange," Dakota said aloud.

A kid about his age had just rode up next to Dakota on his carriage. "What do you mean this world? Were you not born here?"

"I don't quite know. I had died in my old world and appeared her the minute I passed," Dakota said while confused. He wondered if any other people like him existed in this world.

"So you must be one of the 'Dragged'." The strange kid said this with a bright shine in his eyes as if people like me were a rare commodity.

"What are the 'Dragged'? Are there others like me?"

"Sure there are! There are many like you! You 'Dragged' are the people who were dragged from the brink of death to our world. We get about 20 of you year, but you're the first to come around here," the stranger said. "Oh and by the way, the names Gregory. Although most people just call me Gory. What's your name?"

"The names Dakota, I was brought here about an hour ago and I was told to head to the adventurers academy up at the city ahead. Could you perhaps give me a ride there? If it's not out of your way of course."

Dakota didn't feel like walking the next mile to the city and was hoping to catch a ride. Seeing as the boy he was talking to seemed to be about 12 or 13 years old he thought he could possibly hitch a ride no problem.

The boys eyes lit up with excitement as Dakota said those words. "Sure you can hitch a ride. I was actually heading to the academy myself, my parents decided to send me when they realized I had a knack for casting spells."

Gory helped Dakota up onto the carriage as he was much taller than him. Gory was quite tall for his age being around 6'2. He towered over Dakota who was a measly 5'3.

"We should be there in about 10 minutes," Gory said. "I can't wait to see what power level I get. I hope it is around 2000, that is considered average for a kid our age. By the way I'm a druid, or so I'm told by my parents. What species are you?"

"I don't know, in my last life I was a human so I am assuming human."

Gory nodded as he acknowledged what Dakota had said. It was highly unlikely that he was a druid as well considering they are one of the more rare species.

About 10 minutes later they arrived at the gate to the academy. There was a big arch that had words written on it that said "Griffith Academy."

A soldier stopped the carriage and asked Gory if he was there to attend the academy. He responded saying that he and I were both there to attend the academy. Once the soldier confirmed what he said to be true opened the gates and put a patch on each of our arms.

"Head on in, you will see a man holding a clipboard ahead of you. Give him your name and you will be registered at the academy. These patches will mark you as a student here and will show your power level after you take the entrance exam."

As we approached the man we had an eerie feeling that he was judging our every move.

"Name?" The man had a very deep and booming voice, it was almost as if his voice could crack the walls with every word he spoke.

"Dakota Hanson," I replied with a certain tone that made me seem confident even though I was quaking in my own two feet.

The man then told me to move along to group R and to await further instructions. He then asked Gory for his name, and when Gory said his name it was almost as he was as loud and proud as the man himself. The man didn't react and Gory seemed a bit disappointed at his effort to please the man. The man simply said to "follow me to Group R and await further instructions."

As they were heading up to the designated area for Group R there was only one other person there. It was a girl with Silver hair the ended at her elbow. She wore elegant clothes for it being just a simple exam. You could tell by the way she looked that she was from an important family. Gory was entranced by her beauty. He almost seemed to lift off the ground as if he was being pulled towards her. If I didn't know any better I would say his pupils had changed to a heart shape as well.

"What are you two looking at? Have you never seen a noble before?" She sounded arrogant and snooty. This made Dakota disgusted as he hated overly arrogant people who never had to work a day in their life. He didn't realize that he was being a hypocrite as that is exactly what he was like on Earth.

"Gosh you're beautiful," Gory said. He didn't hear a single thing she said. He was too focused on trying to make her his wife to care. He immediately snapped out of is once she slapped him to the floor. I tried my best not to laugh because he was my friend, although he deserved it.

"Trash like you shouldn't be allowed to be here. This school should be reserved for the top of the top. Filthy commoners could never be as good as a noble so they shouldn't be here." With this comment Gory lost interest in her almost immediately. He hated it when people looked down on him just cause he wasn't born rich. As he was about to retaliate with some words of his own the rest of Group R showed up.

All of a sudden a women appeared and started listing their names. "You all are here to take the exam. If you don't achieve a power level of 500 you can't attend this school. Do you understand me? All the students nodded and were ready for the exam.
