Chapter 2: Hospital

He gasped, and waking up in a hospital bed.

How did I get here?, he thought.

He turned to face a girl who sat down next to hospital bed. He groaned as he sat up.

"Oh, be careful," she said.

"Who are you?," Theodore asked.

She smiled, and said,"Ava Knight."

"Theodore Greene," he said.

"Nice to meet you," Ava said.

"But, I have one question. How did I get here?," he asked.

She thought about it, before she spoke. Ava cleared her throat, and spoke,"Well, I was just going to the store to get some milk, until I heard screaming, and I followed the scream, and saw you on the ground bleeding."

Ava looked at him, and he had fear in his eyes. She continued,"And, I saw these people that had blood on them, and I couldn't see their faces either. I was about to say something, but they had ran away."

Theodore held his neck. He remembered now. He got bit by a vampire. He looked at Ava, and she said," I couldn't just stand there, seeing you bleeding, so I had to call 911, and that's what happened."

"I got bit," he mumbled to himself.

"What?," Ava asked.

Theodore looked out the window, and said,"I got bit, Ava."

"By who?," she asked.

He was about to say something, until the nurse came in, and put food on the table next to him. And the nurse left.

Theodore sighed, and asked,"Ava, do you believe in vampires?."

She nodded, and said,"Yes. Why Theodore?."

He turned to face her to show her the vampire marks on his neck. Ava stood up to inspect his neck.

"Whoa, those vampire marks look pretty deep, Theodore. That probably means you're going to turn into a vampire."

He looked at her in wide eyes, and coughed,"Turned into a vampire."

She nodded, and looked at her phone. Ava sighed, and said,"Will you be okay by yourself in the hospital? I have a text from my parents asking where I am. So, I hope to see you around, Theo."

"Theo?," he repeated.

"Yeah, that's your nickname," she said, as she walked toward the door.

She smiled, as she waved bye at him.

"Wait,Ava!," he said.

She stopped, and turned back to him.

"I wanted to say thank you for saving me, and hope we can be friends," Theodore said.

Ava smiled again, and said, "Of course, Theo!."

When she left, he sighed. He also hoped that he could get out of this hospital already.
