15 Plans

With the library door shut, Phine and I sit on the couches around the fireplace discussing my plans.

"Elena I can't sneak you out today, we won't make it back in time before Darius returns," he says and I sigh frustrated.

"How far is the town from here?"

"Two hours away, we are just on the outskirts of Cambridge city. Not only that but we also don't know if Bertha is still in town or not," he says and I lay my head on my legs in thought. There was no way I was going to wait two to four years jut to kill Bertha. Im skilled, efficient with weapons and already have my army. Academically I am doing well, profoundly skilled with math and languages-French, Italian, Spanish and Mandarin.

I sigh and slowly lift my head to look at Phine,"Since I can't leave this house for too long then I need you to go there and find out for me."

Phine snickers and shakes his head, "I can't believe your willing to betray your family just for revenge Elena. Your not thinking straight kid what happens after you kill her-you won't have much to rule over will you?"

"I never wanted to become a leader, I just agreed to it as it seemed it was the only way to get to Bertha-after that I was going to step down and live a normal quiet life. But as long as Bertha lives, mind my remains in turmoil."I say and Phine stays quite, I look down to my hands that are clutching my skirt tightly in balls of fists I add

"In the event that you complete your mission, would you only consider seizing the Peers and letting us go?"

"I could say for you, but sorry kid it doesn't work like that. You probably heard over the phone, my bosses want both Valgaz and Peers head- we have been pursuing them for years."

I take a deep breath and close my eyes, a lot of emotions were running through my mind, but as I open my eyes I am devoid of any as I look back to Phine. "Is it a deal?"I ask looking him straight in the eyes"

"Deal.''' he replies extending his hand for me to shake and so we do. For a while, we sit in the library discussing plans as to when he will go out and investigate. We conclude the meeting with me heading to the kitchen for some lunch. It was 1 pm and I was starving having not eaten breakfast. Phine had disappeared, probably went to his quarters, I wondered how he felt about this. He had been with these people longer than I have, did he feel a bit slight of guilt for deceiving these people. Anger and frustration fill my head but who was I kidding, I wasn't any different selfishly selling out my own family just to get what I want. I knew them for a year, Im not attached to them but I can't help feel bad for them and what's coming."

I arrive at the kitchen and spot the kid from earlier with Nana who was setting some sandwiches on the table."Hi Nana"', I greet as I sit on the stool around the kitchen table.

"Oh hi sweety, have you met my grandson Landon?" she says as she rubs his hair while he quietly eats his sandwich.

"Natasha's kid is your grandson?"I ask surprised. She smiles and heads to the cupboard to get a plate and glass for me as she does she replies, "Yes, I didn't know how old he was since I haven't seen my daughter since she was six, but now she is all grown up with a kid."

"Nana...you haven't seen her for that long? Why?"I ask as she sets down the food in from of me and I start to eat.

"I was a different person back then"Is all she says with sad eyes, she looks at her grandson and her eyes light up again and she adds, "But Im glad they are here now".

Well Im not, that Bitch Natasha already got on my bad side. I turn to the boy and greet him but he doesn't say anything, he becomes timider and visibly anxious from my interaction with him.

"He's a very sensitive kid, seems to always want to be around his mom a lot. He doesn't like being around strangers."Nana says and with the mention of his mom his eyes start to water, and soon he begins to cry. Nana set aside his plate and begins to carry him trying to soothe him.

"I can take him to his mom", I offer and Nana accepts setting Landon down.

"She is probably in her room right now, "Nana says and I nod extending my hand to London for him to take. He just stands there silently crying and I get on my knees to speak with him.

"Hey buddy, it's okay- Im going to take you to see your mom. I won't hurt you." I say softly putting my hand up for him to accept it which he gradually does. I smile at him and get up, I say bye to Nana and we start walking towards the bodyguards quarters at Landon's pace.

"Do you like it here?"I ask and at first, I thought he wasn't going to reply but to my surprise, he mumbles, "The house is so big"

As we are walking in the hallway passing door to door, we near Darius's room and I start to hear the sounds-creaking sound of the bed. As we got close I hear slapping sounds and my eyes widen from disbelief, I immediately cover Landon's ear to prevent him from hearing it.

"Yes...ahhhh...Darius right there" the voice moans which I come to realise is Natasha. My heart starts to feel heavy and my eyes watery. Why am I feeling this way? I wonder.

I turn back with Landon and head back to the kitchen.
