10 That Hurts!

Michael and Hao had just gotten back from the town market an hour ago, and they are currently sitting on the sofa, with his mother busy in the kitchen and cooking the food that Hao had gotten addicted to early in the morning for an early lunch.

While on the other hand, Michael is busy brushing Hao who's lying on his lap and watching a tv show about animals, a show about tigers which Hao purr in interest from time to time.

Then suddenly, the show was interrupted as it was suddenly replaced by a woman inside a newsroom, and Hao couldn't help but stand up and let out an angry soft roar!

"Haoo!!!"

[We apologize for the sudden interruption, but this just came in. Morty and Jack, two high profile members of the notorious organization, Antis, have just been captured a few minutes ago and are currently being escorted to a special jail cell for dangerous criminals]

Then the scene quickly changed in front of the Terran Association building.

Where a group of reporters surrounded a small group of people with a chubby and bald officer walking in the front of the group, and beside him is a red haired straight faced woman wearing a cold expression.

They just ignored the reporters around them and slowly walked, made their way towards the association building, and calmly ignored the buzzing reporters around them who were like flies, and the flash of cameras.

The scene was so rowdy because the reporters kept throwing questions after questions towards them, a scene very similar to when you go to the local town market and see the people haggling for prices!

[Chief! What were the steps you had taken to track down those two notorious criminals!?]

When they're about to head inside the building, the police chief turned around and faced the reporters.

"All I can say is that, if it weren't for Miss Summer and her team, then they wouldn't have been captured and been allowed to corrupt the minds of our townspeople, that's all!" said the police chief before he turned around and hurriedly followed after Summer and the rest inside.

But the crowd of reporters didn't let up as they kept shouting towards him with questions while they were being barred from entering the building by the combined efforts of police officers and the security detail of the place.

And all this while, Summer didn't even bother opening her mouth and just calmly made her way inside the building, where they were greeted by Manager Ronan.

"Shall we…?" Manager Ronan gestured.

"Let's go" answered Summer, and with the police chief in tow, they went inside a conference room.

"Oh my~ was that Summer, son!?" asked his mother from the kitchen while chopping some vegetables.

"Yes~, it was her" answered Michael as he quickly changed the channel into something else.

While chopping a bunch of asparagus beans, his mother replied, "Aigoo~ I hope you can become like her one day son!"

"Haha, I sure hope so mom" answered Michael with a laugh, even though his face clearly says "no way!".

Then a couple of minutes later, Michael finally heard that familiar bell sound inside his head.

"Alright, it's done. You're now free to go Hao" said Michael to Hao, and the latter jumped off from his lap and laid down on the other sofa on the right and resumed watching the show on the tv.

Michael just smiled at that and then focused his attention on his [User Status].

But then, Michael noticed something different.

He noticed that the Main Quest [Brush Hao's fur for Ten Minutes] had been moved from Main Quest to Daily Quest and became a repeatable quest for thirty times, which baffled him as he didn't understand why.

'What happened?'

[The system had deemed it not suitable as a Main Quest. So it had been reassigned to the Daily Quest Section]

"Acck!"

As soon as Michael had thought in mind, he immediately received a response a second later and made him jump in shock!

"Haoooo!!!"

"W-what!?"

Which startled both Hao and his mother, as the former quickly jumped away in shock like a startled domestic cat, while his mother on the other hand almost flipped the food she's cooking.

His mother quickly walked over with a broom in her hands saying, "What happened son? Did you see a rat or something?"

Michael turned to his mother and quickly replied, "No mom, I was just startled about something.."

"About what?" asked his mother with a stern, darkening look, and then Michael quickly realized that his mother hates getting jump scares, and if she does, she turns into a volcano on the verge of eruption!

'Shit~, I shouldn't have yelled'

He quickly darted his eyes away from her, then he noticed Hao had calmed down and is now peacefully lying on the small sofa and suddenly thought of something stupid.

"It's...it's because Hao suddenly scratched me!" answered Michael as he pointed at Hao with a straight face.

Swoosh!

Smack!

Suddenly, from out of nowhere, a broom came flying and smacked Michael. The attack was so sudden that he immediately started rolling on the floor while holding the top of his head from how painful it was!

"Owww! That freaking hurts!"

His excuse would have been a perfect lie.

Sadly, his opponent this time was his mother.

So he was punished, with the all purpose broom in his mother's hands!

The nightmarish thing that gave every Asian kid a run for their money! Only for a dollar ninety nine! Buy one, get one, free!

"How dare you push the blame to such a cute baby!?" angrily yelled Michael's mother as she gave him another smack on his bottom.

"M-mom! That hurts! I'm not a k-kid anymore!" Michael couldn't help but suddenly raise his voice as rubbed his painful bottom while wearing a silly smile as he looked at his mother with a wronged expression.

"You dare to raise your voice at me!? It seems I didn't raise you right!"

"Mom! That damn broom of yours seriously hurts! Y-yaa!!"

With the intention to hit him again, his mother quickly walked over towards him, but Michael quickly wiggled his body to the side and dodged the attack as he ran behind the other sofa at the left.

And both mother and son started a game of tag of cat and mice!

"How dare you dodge me, you brat!?"

"No one in their right minds would they let someone hit them, even if it's their own mother!"

"Yaa!!"

Hao looked at the two of them with this expression of "I've had enough" and she jumped down from the sofa and went to the kitchen and watched over her food that's being cooked with anticipation.
