11 Chapter 10 - The Blood Bath of Aspendria.

The dark storm atop the tower roared loudly as Endar steps out into the middle of the main street, looking up at the tower with a blazing blue fire festering in his hand, growing volatile as his eye goes a blood red, the blue turning into a searing surge of orange and red flames, hurling it in a massive arch to the top of the tower.

Hitting the dome as the glass shatters into a million pieces, a figure already standing at the edge looking down, it was the prince, an angry glare shoots at the witch as he lifts his hand, a purple haze around his fingers. A huge swarm of enemies chase at him from all directions, not a huge group of undead but enough to tackle the average person.

Endar's arm shifts into a blade as he hacks into them, cutting each one with a heightened focus keeping him from getting hit, soon they all lay on the ground in a dead heap, Camus snarls in rage as he lifts both his hands, sending waves after waves against the witch, in his left hand a furious Scarlett substance trails his arm, pointing it high into the sky.

The spell lighting the entire Capitol in a blood red light, hitting the clouds which also follow suit, beginning to rain down blood upon the kingdom, the fallen blood seeping into the witch's exposed skin, his ragged breathing ringing in his ears, feeling his natural magic coursing through his veins.

Charging enemies finally begin to reach him, their bodies ripping apart, their blood spreading as the red begins trailing through the capitol at immense speed.

Endar didn't have to touch them, ripping them apart from the inside, using their insides as a weapon, it hardens into scabbed scythe, cutting into the multiple enemies with ease, only adding to his power as the blood of his enemies fly.

He hated this side of himself, but its his blood magic that makes him powerful, a rare witch type in the tribes of Candervale, he'd held back from using it, but this fight was important to him and his friends, taking down hundred of them in seconds, fighting his way as they crowd him, his entire body coated in the blood rain.

A thirsty look in his eyes.

"COME ON!!!!!" He yells, the dead continue to attack him, on the outer edges of the Capitol Camilla, Rodahn and Major sneak around the chaos, The patrons following behind getting soaked in the rain as they look around in awe.

"Is this your brother Camilla?" Major asked her as Ro shakes his head.

"No...This is Endar, we should get moving, this is his signal" Rodahn points out, the entire group quickly making it inside the tower unnoticed for now, the defenses preoccupied with Endar's distraction. Making quick work of any patrolling dead.

Making it to the middle section of the tower, where the Chimera was guarding the entrance, the group unsure of their battle plan, before Rodahn rushes in without warning, jumping high into the air, the creature not seeing him time as his axe rides straight into its goats head, cutting its head at the base, killing it, the lion and snake both cry out in pain.

The goats head flopping on the body as its extra weight slows the beast slightly, it rips him off of it, roaring fire from its mouth as he deftly dodges out of the way, Major attacking from behind, the snake tail biting at him as its mouth clasps around his holy light sword, its mouth pulling away viscously as smoke billows from its mouth, taking the opportunity, he swings and cuts its tail off, the snake writhing on the floor before dying.

The lion stumbles at the loss of its two other heads, its growls turning sinister as it roars at them violently pushing them back, its eyes and mane sprouting flames as its fury warms the entire room, bookcases and tables scatter everywhere, the princess rushing forward with a tiny dagger in her hand.

The beast readying to breath fire, she lifts her hand as a blinding bright light sprouts from her hand, dazing it as its fire breath misses everyone, Major and Rodahn quickly sprout from the sides, both of them aiming for the underbelly, it kicks Rodahn away but Major slips in and drives his sword deep into its gut, its roars shaking the room, traveling up the tower.

The prince watching down upon the witch with focused eyes, studying his moves and techniques, before hearing the roar of his beast, his brows furrowing as Charles runs in with a hurried pace.

"The counsel members are in the dungeons, but someone is scaling the tower!"

"Then deal with it, I've got bigger problems right now" He orders as he runs off with a few undead warriors to the room where the ensuing fight was happening. The chimera throws Rodahn around, propelling him straight into a nearby pillar as he groans in pain, struggling to get back on his feet.

Major tries his best to fend off the beast, Camilla taking the time to attack Charles with her dagger, he dodges, going to unsheathe his sword before seeing her, his eyes widen in shock as his mouth lays open.

"Princess?!"

Rodahn gets up in a berserker rage and charges at the beast, toppling it over onto its side.

"Charles Accrington, you are a traitor to Caspia and it will not go unpunished!" She yells, blinding him with a flash of light, closing his eyes as she dives on him with a flurry of attacks, cutting his face and arms as he struggles for control.

"Please! Let me explain!"

The fight behind them still hot and heavy, all combatants getting tired and restless, Major growls in anger as he advances again, the beast lifting a claw to swipe him down, but Rodahn sees an advantage, sweeping in and cutting its paw off, it falls again to its side, its stubbed limb spurts blood in the air as it roars in pain.

Major continues in his attack, striking it straight in its heart with his holy sword, running it down its stomach as its rotten and dead guts leave its body, the beast convulses as it lays limp. Its black blood seeping into the royal marble, Rodahn and Major look to the princess, who has Accrington by the throat with her dagger.

His cowardly figure now shuddering before the Princess with fear, sweating nervously as her face remains strong and unbreaking.

"There is nothing to explain, you stood by a dark mage who killed thousands of innocent people, people you knew and that you loved!...just so you could watch him kill even more" she bellow pressing it harder against his exposed neck.

"NO WAIT! HE SAID YOU WERE DEAD, ALL OF THE SOLDIERS THOUHT YOU WERE DEAD YOUR MAJESTY!! PLEASE!" He stammers as he begs for his life, the cogs in her mind turning in response, thinking if its worth killing him.

"Your sentence...would be death"

He cries in defeat as tears roll down his face, scared of dying from the person he swore to serve and protect, his honor and glory shattered.

"I'm sorry...forgive me..." He pleads as he slumps to his knees, her dagger pointed harshly at his neck, one slash and he was dead. But she takes her dagger away, sheathing it as she gives him her hand.

"You are a broken man Charles...now's your time to fix yourself, fight with me"

His blood shot eyes look up at her with gratitude, a relieved look washing over his face, taking a proper knee and unsheathing his sword, placing it on the floor and holding his handle to his forehead.

"I pledge my life and allegiance to you, Camilla Elffire, forever and always" He says, she makes him rise as Major shoulder barges him.

"Just know you aren't forgiven until we've won" He snarls going to carry on, before hearing an excited clapping coming from the stairs, the princes footsteps echoing in the intense silence that had blanketed them. reaching the bottom as he faces the group.

"My my what a pleasant surprise, we have my dead sister, a washed up soldier, a filthy mud hutter and a traitorous cunt!" He yells with a grin lacing his face.

"You should be ashamed of yourself! killing all those people for your own sick agenda!" Camilla bites back as his lips curl into a sneer.

"They were weak! Just like all of you~" He teases.

"I am far from weak you pathetic little brat! your reign ends now!" Camilla threatens him with her dagger bared and ready.

He laughs deeply, the whites of his eyes disappearing as they enveloped in an abyss like black. An empty chasm.

"I don't think you understand...let me explain for you~"

Endar heaves deep breaths as he continues to fight the dead, their numbers lay around him, the blood rain slowly dying down as he starts using the blood from the many bodies around him to rejuvenate himself, quickly hurtling himself back into the flurry with a determined face, cutting the dead down severely quickly, until only one soldier remains.

He scoffs, lifting his hand as a small fireball catches his skin, lighting it up as Endar slowly walks towards the tower, a few wounds lay on his skin and face, his metal part coated in chunks of flesh and blood as he looks up. The cuts gazing his skin slowly close back up, the blood under his skin surges with life, building his skin and bones back.

Healing him completely.

A flash of lights and spells erupt the the middle of the tower, one of them flying out of the walls, landing onto one of the building in the city, more of them continuing to fly out, crushing, burning and destroying multiple houses of the capitol, many people coming out to help the buildings and their remains.

But Endar's focus was on the tower, quickly sprinting towards it with more fire than ever, his core feeling packed to the brim with magical energy thanks to Cyrens boost. Making no effort of the straggling enemies, stalking his way up the huge tower.

Camilla and Major hide behind a pillar as green fire curves around the base, burning at their arms, Accrington and Rodahn behind their own pillar, Camus leaving his outstretched hands in both directions, his mouth shouting non stop incantations as the pillars begins to crumble under the constant battery.

"We have to do something now!" Camilla says as Major lifts up his sword, looking over at Accrington with a knowing nod, he nervously nods back, getting the large shield off his back. Readying at the edge of the pillar, charging out as Camus aims his hand at him, they bash against the shield with a ton of force, but he held his ground.

"Come on traitor, show that cowardly face of yours!!" Camus laughs as the shield begins to glow with heat.

"A little help would be nice!" He yells, Major sprinting around the pillar, Camus tries to aim his hands at him, but he rolls away in time, all three of them advance as a unit, only hitting the wall as they all bash into the prince with all their might.

Sending him flying into the steps with a pained grunt, more laughs escaping his cocky mouth.

"You're going to have to do better than that~" He sneers, jolting his hand out at Charles, an alive force reaching out as it grasps him in its cold hand, his pained screams echo the hall as he flops to the floor unconscious. Major goes to stab him but his sword flies out of his hand when his wrist twists inhumanely.

He growls in pain as it snaps, his arm breaking, Rodahn grabs Camus by the throat squeezing hard as he laughs through the pain at them, hysterically flaunting his power as the green flames burst from his fingers again, burning all of Rodahn torso, making him wince away. Major tries to attack again, but an invisible force keeps him pressed to the ground.

Rodahn's burns begin to glow against his skin as his hands are stuck to his chest, a binding rope escaping his torso and keeping him restricted in a painful trap. he roars in searing pain as he struggles move against the spell, Leaving just Camilla to face him, slowly walking up to her menacingly.

A smug look on his face as he readies to burn her alive in front of her friends, but she remains calm and collected.

"You're a fool...if only mother could see you"

"She's dead! just like father...but he truly deserved it" He snarls, circling her as she take in his movements, her eyes grazing over his every move.

"He was sick, not just dead weight like you thought he was!"

His smile curves as his hands glow with a different magic, its swirling watery look shimmers on his fingers as her eyes flit to his.

"You know, you never got to know his final words...do you want to hear them sister?" He says as her eyes waver, her strong face breaking as she was taken aback by his word, finishing his spell as a spectral figure conjures itself, it was their father.

He was speaking to someone in the room, his maddened ramblings set Camilla at ease, seeing her father for the first time in a year since his death.

"Little parasites! the lot of them! those peasants and the castle staff, even you and that stupid sister of yours"

Her eyes squint, he was taking to Camus in his final moments.

Camus fills in the blanks with his own voice.

"But father, you cannot rule forever, you must pick one of us to be your heir" He says with a neutral gaze at her.

"BAH! HEIR?! neither of you are fit to rule my kingdom, no tainted blood will stain my throne!"

"Father...what do you mean?"

"YOURE NO SON OF MINE, YOU AND YOUR SISTER ARE NOTHING, EVEN LOWER THAN NOTHING!" He bellows into Camilla's face, with anger coursing through his every breath

Camus looks to the ground, not saying anything as the king spoke again under his breath.

"Filthy fucking changlings"

Camus puts a stop to the spell as her father fades away, stunned by what she'd just seen.

"Filthy changlings of Caspia you and I dear sister"

"What?..."

"Don't you see...we were meant for so much more than some puny kingdom, don't you want to know why we can do magi-"

He was cut off abruptly by a spell hitting him in the face, Camilla looking back at the caster with shocked eyes.

Endar struts into the room angrily, his eyes focused on the dark mage.

The prince stands to the best of his ability, his eyes lighting with rage as he stares at Endar in an intense match up.

The witches fingers brimming with spells as his nose scrunches up at the sight of him.

"Changlings may harness magic...but you forgot one thing"

He growls in rage as he approaches Endar with his own spells at the ready.

"What's that?" he says, his lip bleeding from the hit.

"Power means nothing without skill" Endar snarls at him, hitting him with his fist as the spell rebounds on him, keeping him in place with each powerful hit, bruising his face, he fights back however as a wash of green fire surrounds him in a dome.

Endar's fingers sprout from the dome of fire, destroying it as he rips himself free, a wind spell chiming from his feet as he swiftly jumps around the hall with increased speed, making it hard to track the Witch down, Camus nervously sweats as he looks for him frantically, getting hit in the back with powerful kick, sending him skidding across the floor, his perfect red hair now frazzled and messed.

Endar wastes no time and advances on him quickly, leaving little time to conjure up a shield in time, immediately breaking through it as his shape shifting metal arm takes the shape of a large sword, bringing the blade down. The prince barely rolls out of the way as his panicked screams spread throughout the halls walls as his hand drops to the floor.

Blood pours from his hands stump, as he grips it with cries and howls of pain. The spells holding the others broke as he continues to run away from the raging witch.

"You should run...I know every one of your spells...and how to counter them"

"Y-you're not...that powerful" he says, backed against the wall with a badly formed spell in his shaking hand, the overwhelming feeling of fear preventing him from casting.

Endar's attacks ceases for a moment as he glares down upon the changeling with hateful eyes.

"Back down before you get yourself killed...you're no match for a trained blood witch" He says as Camus slowly backs down, his hands raised in defeat as Camilla sighs in relief, the two hugging while the rest of the group come together, distracted by the silence and peace, the battle was over, and the prince had been defeated.

For now, all was well, while people were checking on each other with concern, Camus looks at them all with a pained expression as he looks down at his bloody stump, his hand clasping as a tiny vortex spell conjures in the middle of it, a smirk on his face as he opens his mouth.

"This isn't over yet...enjoy your victory...because its only the beginning"

A massive amount of portals open in the floor suddenly, trying to suck them all in as they grasp onto anything they could, while they were occupied he jumps through one, not letting any of them go until they all close, the group fall to the ground in shock as the tower begins to creak in pain, the hall crumbling as rubble falls from the ceiling

"The tower is collapsing! we need to go!" Major says holding his broken arm, Rodahn grabbing Charles as he runs to the door with Major, Camilla and Endar go to run with them but Endar collapses to his knees, groaning dozily as the Princess turns back for him, grabbing under his arm as she limps to the door with him.

"I used too much magic...cant...feel my legs..."

"Keep going! I'm not leaving you" she says determined, the rubble blocking the only way down, separating the group in two, Major bangs on the rubble with all his might, but the fight left everyone too tired, leaving Rodahn to make a hard choice as he grabs Major by the hip. Running down the stairs with high speed.

Major screams and yells the whole way down as Camilla attempts to move away the rubble, the building quickly beginning to collapse fully as she dodges multiple falling rocks, making her way back to Endar as she hugs him tightly. knelt on the marbled ground as everything around them shatters.

"I think this is it..." He says with a heavy tone.

"No! I refuse to die here!" She says as she cries, his arms tightening around her, feeling one last pulse of energy before passing out in her arms, time seems to slow for her, looking up at the cracking ceiling above her, ready to crush them when it breaks.

Major was carried out by the orc to his dismay, looking up at the falling tower as the entire building collapses in a huge heap of brick, covering and crushing other buildings in the capitol as it lays silent, Major was let down as he cries heavy tears, feeling his heart break at the sight of it, Rodahn lets down the unconscious Charles as he also lets loose a tear.

Looking into the ground with a debilitating sorrow clouding his mind, feeling the scar on his chest with a straight face, his cheek wet with the single tear as he stands, walking away from the wreckage with his axe.

"Where are you going?!" Major yells at him as he turns his head to him.

"I'm going to find that Prince, and I'm going to make him suffer" His voice grave and dark.

Major pants as he wipes his eyes, standing from the soil as he looks at Accrington's body for a second, joining Ro's side with his brows creased in a permanent glare.

"I'm going with you"

"Ahkshal..." He says in his own language, walking ahead with Major on his tail, the guilt and shame biting at them both, the two of them failing at their promises.

Walking away from the capitol, never to return again...
