They had loaded all the elements to work in the excavation in one of the trucks and in the other utilitarian vehicle traveled all the members of the expedition except one of the custodians who remained in the camp next to the big truck to watch them.

Soon they saw the monolith erected by Bodniev and Selma and as they arrived at it began to unload the shovels of the vehicles. All the men began to excavate the hard ground that lay under the thin layer of grass, working under the rays of the Sun that soon began to make its effects felt on the diggers. Debbie and Selma had brought water canteens to avoid dehydration of the workers, a risk always present in the dry desert climate.

"How deep do you think we need to dig?" asked Deborah addressing Bodniev.

“No more than four meters, but before reaching that depth we should see signs of some previous activity."
