Si Li thought that Lu Lan was in this situation because of him. His heart ached. Si Li liked Lu Lan from the very first day he saw her in Elder Lu's birthday. He wanted to talk to her but because of Lu Xuelon, she always maintained distance from the Si Li.

When Lu Lan graduated, Si Li wanted to offer her position in the management department of Si Corporation, but to his surprise, Lu Lan already applied in Tax Advisory.

Lu Lan performance in Tax advisory was great then he again wanted to promote her so that she could work in Si Corporation but again Lu Lan surprised him by applied for the position in the Taxation Department in Tax advisory itself.

When Lu Lan had left Lu Mansion, Si Li had also left Country Z for his Underworld Business and thus, both of them became strangers.

During that time, Si Li fought for the position of leader of Underworld Business. He then understood that he and Lu Lan couldn't be together in this lifetime because it would risk the life of a person whom he loved for much.

After returning to Country Z, Si Li put all his focus on the work. He never tried to get information about Lu Lan because he knew that if he heard about her, he would not be able to resist himself.

Elder Si knew Si Li liked someone but because Si Li's involvement in Underworld Business, he wouldn't be able to live like a normal person who had family and peaceful life. But Elder Si Li couldn't see his grandson like this. So he started forcing Si Li for marriage. In the end, Si Li agreed for the marriage and asked Me Chu to get information for Lu Lan's current life.

Afterwards, he got to know that Lu Lan's manager was harassing her. Si Li was very angry so he sent his men to detain her manager and torture him until he regretted having this life. But at that time, all of sudden Lu Lan came and suggested to him a cruel idea. Of course, Si Li did as she wanted. How could he not fulfil his lover wish?

Later, Si Li saw that Lu Lan was crying because she didn't get the position in the taxation department. It was all planned by Si Li. He didn't want to hurt her but he knew Lu Lan would never accept his love because of Lu Xuelon. Further, his involvement in Underworld Business added to the reason, they both couldn't be together throughout the life.

So, he proposed to her for the contract marriage. For Si Li, this twelve months would be enough for his life.

An hour later, Si Li's special team found about Madam Lu's men and detained them. After torturing them, those men confessed what they had done to Lu Lan and surrendered the original CCTV footage.
