4 Chapter Four: The Story of Liam and Ana (1)

The Watcher did not only give the killer a knife, but night goggles, cover for their clothes, and gloves. The killer was able to walk away from their podium as the Watcher let them free. The majority of the people did not say anything, but they were breathing hard.

They were scared of the darkness, but making a scene was not going to do anything. The only one freaking out was Liam, who was trying to free himself from the chain. His grunts were echoing through the room as he continued to hit against his stand.

The killer silently walked towards Liam, twirling the knife in their hand. The expression on their face was blank as they watched the man struggle to free himself. Every time the person killed or was feeling homicidal, it was like an out of the body experience as their mind focused on the person they were after.

Liam struggled some more when he felt that someone was staring him down. The killer was coming; he could feel it. The man stared at his hand, taking in a few deep breaths before dislocating his wrist. He held his scream back as he let out a muffled cry.

Pulling his hand out from the cuff, he grabbed his dislocated wrist and moved to the wall. Well, Liam hoped it was the wall because he couldn't see in the dark.

As he moved, Liam tripped a few times until he hit something hard. The man touched the area with his good hand, and it felt like a wall to him, so he followed along, hoping it would take him to the door. Even though the person had the door locked, maybe Liam could break it open.

The killer watched as Liam felt along the wall, making his way to the door. The killer almost wanted to wait to see if the man would reach it, but that would be boring. They decided to let the man come close to the door before killing him.

Liam kept going, breathing hard as his broken waist was throbbing painfully. Each time he would accidentally hit it, he would hold back a cry threatening to come out.

Once the man got near the door (Liam did not know he was), the killer threw the knife, hitting their target in the back. Liam let out a pained cry as he landed on the ground.

The others in the room started to break out in a sweat as their breathing got faster; the noise and the sound of the man hitting the ground scared them.

Liam lifted himself with his bad hand, groaning as he reached for the knife with his other one. But he did not get far as the killer was already behind him; they stepped on the man's hand that was reaching for the knife.

The step caused the man to fall back on the floor, making him let out a curse. The killer pulled out the knife, only to stab the man in his shoulder. Liam cried, "Stop; stop!"

The killer wanted to laugh at how the man was already begging but kept silent so that no one could hear their voice. They pulled the knife out again, stabbing the man in the back multiple times, deciding they didn't want to play slow anymore.

Liam screamed out as tears flowed from his eyes, he kept begging for the killer to stop, but they kept going until the man started to quiet down.

The others in the room covered their mouth with their free hand, trying to hold back the cries they wanted to release themselves at the sounds they heard from Liam's begging to the stabbing noises.

When everything went quiet, the killer stopped, pulling the knife out one last time, wiping the blood off on their cover. They checked to see if the person was alive, and when they felt no pulse, the killer moved away.

The killer heard something open by the wall, and when they looked over, the small spot on the floor opened with a sign that said, 'Drop your stuff here.'

They walked over and dropped the knife, cover, gloves, and goggles into the hole; then, they used the wall to walk back to their podium; they traced their steps.

Once the killer made it to their stand, they felt around for the cuff and cuffed their hand back. Once it connected, the lights came back on, and the killer's mood quickly matched everyone's in the room.

When the lights came on, everyone looked over until their eyes landed on Liam's dead body. Lilian let out a muffled scream when she saw the body while the others closed their eyes, looking away.

"Round one, complete." The Watcher said before pushing a button that caused the others to pass out with the cuffs unlocking.

The people fell to the ground with a thud as they were unconscious—the click of the door unlocking resonated through the quiet room.

Four Months Ago: Liam and Ana

"You are incompetent. How could you make a small mistake in your report? Are you freaking mental? A child could do better than the cr*p you gave me, you little dum-" Liam ripped into his worker, who was sobbing at his words but was cut off by the door opening.

Liam looked up, getting ready to yell at the person who dared to enter his office, but when he saw it was his father, he smoothed his suit then fixed his hair as he set up straight.

"You are dismissed." He told the worker. The worker ran out while holding onto the report they messed up, almost hitting Liam's father at the door.

When they were gone, the father closed the door. "Father, what are you do-"

"Your attitude and behavior are horrendous. If you keep going down this road, the company that I let you take over will fall to the dumps." The father got straight to the point, cutting his son off again.

Liam looked like he swallowed a sour lemon as he let his father's words sink into him. "What are you saying? I am making this company a success!"

Snorting, the father slammed his hand on the desk, "Get your head out of your a**, boy. No one wants to work with you, workers are quitting, and partners are pulling out because they cannot stand your arrogance. I will not stand for this anymore. I signed you up for counseling."

Liam popped up in anger, "You cannot do this. I am not a crazy person. I will not go."

"You will, or I will kick you from this company. I already have someone ready to take your spot."

As he sat back down, Liam's lip turned into a thin line. "Fine." He said through gritted teeth.

His father nodded at the response, satisfied, as he walked to the door. Opening it, the father looked back, "I will be keeping tabs, so do not try to get out of this." After speaking, the father slammed the door behind himself.

Liam clenched his fist in anger as he glared at the closed door. After a few minutes, he calmed down, staring at the work before him. As he was getting ready to get back to his paperwork, he heard his phone ding.

He picked up his phone, showing that it was a new message. 'You have an appointment after work.' The message read. He growled, throwing his phone in anger.

The phone cracked when it landed on the ground. Liam went back to his paperwork, angrily scribbling on the paper.

He worked until eight at night before he decided to leave work. As he left, the other workers still there looked at him with fear. He glared at them, causing the workers to quickly look away.

He did not have his phone since he broke it, but he knew what place his father wanted him to go without telling him. Liam didn't even want to say the building's name because it would make this all too real if he did.

Liam put the address into his GPS once he got into his car, driving to the building. When he reached the area, he parked the car, walking out of it. He did not mean to slam the door to his precious car, but he couldn't control his anger for coming here.

He slowly walked to the building, every step feeling like they weighed a ton; he did not want to be here. Once he made it inside, he walked up to the desk and muttered through gritted teeth once the person looked up, "I have an appointment to see Dr. Ana Speck."

"Name?" The person answered not caring for Liam's attitude.

"Liam McHumming."

The person started typing on the computer for a few seconds before looking back at Liam, "Please have a seat and wait; she is seeing someone at the moment."

Liam walked to one of the seats and sat down with his head in his hands. His fingers were gripping a few pieces of his hair; he did not want to be here at all.

As his head was down for almost half an hour with him stuck in his thoughts, he did not notice Catherine leaving the building.

"Mr. McHumming, Dr. Speck will see you now." The person at the desk called.

Standing up from his position, Liam walked to the only open room in the building. When he made his way inside, he saw a woman with red hair, casual clothes, and a name tag that said Ana as she looked down at a clipboard.

'Great, my father wants me to tell a woman about my problems. I will not do it.' He thought as he gazed at Ana.

"Take a seat, please." The counselor spoke as she pointed to the chair across from her. And as he was getting ready to walk, she mentioned, "Do not forget to close the door behind you."

'What else do I need to do, your majesty?' He thought to himself as he slammed the door close. The slamming door did not faze the woman at all.

He took a seat in the chair and waited for the woman to start. After a few minutes of her not saying anything, Liam was getting ready to fuss until the woman looked up.

"Although your father booked the appointment. I was hoping you could tell me why you believe you are here."
