Chapter 74: McGuffin Brawl! (6)

Chapter 74: McGuffin Brawl! (6)

~Mash B. POV~

Quickly casting a [Healing Magic] on Marmas as he wouldn't die the other three weren't exactly subtle when they appeared.

Howzer, Griamore, and Veronica appeared. They seemed like they wanted to say something, but I remained focused on healing Marmas after getting hit by a [Ul Vita] with Beatrice simply letting him live in pain.

They were hesitating towards me. Wary even but Howzer seemed to appreciate my assistance in helping his fellow Holy Knight out of death's range, "Whew… this will get him out of the danger of bleeding out. So… who the heck are you guys."

Howzer and Griamore didn't need an introduction as Elizabeth answered my question in a saddened tone, "Mash this is my sister Veronica. Her bodyguard is Griamore and that's Howzer a Holy Knight."

Raising an eyebrow at Howzer I asked bluntly at the destruction of Vaizel village in a curt tone, "So… then mister Holy Knight care to explain the destruction of the village? Because it seems you guys fall off the order being called Knights burning this place to the moral ground? Aren't these guys supposed to be on your side?"

Howzer immediately raised his arms in defense having no part in the attack explaining himself, "Sh… She certainly is a Holy Knight, but… she's with Hendrickson's faction… I didn't know anything of her coming here…"

I glared my eyes toward Veronica with a stern glare flinching lightly as I calmly asked directly, "In that case your words are honest… but you? Did you know these fools would attack anyone in this village?"

All eyes laid on Veronica waiting for my answer as she explained herself defiantly directly meeting my gaze, "I did. But what I wasn't aware of was the destruction they would cause. I came to take my sister back from that villainous group the Seven Deadly Sins. Back to the capital."

Moving in between them I snorted in disdain at this woman calmly answering her question gripping my White and Black Blades tightly, "Not happening. I can't leave her under your care for such incompetence allowing people to be hurt. And besides that, I have my Bossman's orders to keep her safe."

Hawk joined my side agreeing with me snorting angrily and clicking his legs, "Hold it right there! I'm not about to hand over Elizabeth-chan like that! It was your group that caused this so no way we're letting you take her!"

Seeing were not backing down as Elizabeth tries to explain to her sister to see reason pleading with her, "Don't get the wrong idea! Meliodas-sama didn't steal me! He's a good person."

Where she stood, she got angry whipping her arms away and demanding from me as I glared coldly at Veronica, "Y… You don't fool me! Meliodas is a monster! A Demon in human skin! My little sister is being treated like a wanted criminal because she's with you guys! Give me back my Ellie!"

I can understand her need to save her sister. I can understand the lengths one must put aside for those loved ones to be saved. But I also know they can be the most foolish people to be reasoned with.

Before anyone does anything Elizabeth pleads with her sister tears forming defending him of her claims, "Sister Veronica you don't know anything about Meliodas-sama! You've decided to label him as there is no way that Meliodas-sama is a bad man!!"

Now that can be taken from anyone's perspective. And so far he hasn't shown any ill will towards me as Veronica ordered her Knight in a defeated tone, "Griamore!"

*Shiii*

Soon enough Griamore encased Elizabeth in his [Wall] drawing his sword at me in a serious tone, "[Perfect Shell]. It was the only way. We're taking you back to the Kingdom like this. My magical barrier couldn't be destroyed even by a meteor. And you… Howzer."

Howzer seeing these beads of sweat running down his face apologizes to me praising his spear at me in a determined tone, "Sigh… I'm sorry Shitty Cook but orders are orders from the Princess. But I also have to do my job."

*Wooosh*

Tossing the Goddess Amber back to Howzer catching it I understood their goals curtly nodding and readying my blades in a friendly manner, "I know. A Knight must follow their Master's orders and honor. And please call me Mash Bastion. Besides, you'll probably need your allies again consider this my kindness to the good Holy Knights left."

Grabbing onto the Goddess Amber Howzer curtly nodded as Griamore prepared for battle against me telling Veronica, "Princess Veronica to return Elizabeth to the Capital I need to defeat him. He's not someone to take lightly of…"

Veronica nodded as Howzer raised his lance up calling out his attack in a serious tone feeling the wind mana around him, "Sorry but I'll end this quickly! [Rising Tornado]!"

*Woooosh*

A signature technique of Howzer's that allows him to create powerful tornadoes around an opponent. The force of the winds is strong enough to tear a target's limbs from their body.

He was first shown using this technique to lift his opponent into the air by firing off the tornadoes in a volley of punches after forming them around his arms. If it was any other opponent, then they would be in danger…

Raising my blades I smirked. This attack involving wind is practically useless against me because of my Divine Protection.

*Shinng*

Cutting through the wind of his [Rising Tornado] his eyes widened as my [Divine Protection of Wind Reading] told me the best way to dispel his attack with one cut of my White Blade commenting on the poor Knight, "Sorry Howzer… if it was any other opponent then you would've had the chance. Sadly… I'm blessed to cut the wind. [Shamak]."

*Voooom*

Using [Shamak] I rend space to teleport behind Howzer eyes widening as I slashed him with my White Blade with a small spell cast on him, "[Murak]."

*Shinng*

*WOOOOSH*

Combine the White Blade with the already-cast [Murak] Howzer he was sent flying away in the far distance as Griamore's eyes widen in horror seeing how I one-shot his friend away casually making my way towards him next in a calm tone, "One down. One more to go. Let's make this quick big guy."

He quickly dispelled his [Wall] on Elizabeth dropping down quickly using his power around me in a rash tone, "Shit – [Perfect Shell]!"

Seeing a purple energy shield surround me he sighed in relief till I spoke, "[Shamak]."

*Vooooom*

Teleporting out with my spell Griamore's eyes widened in horror as I spoke to him in a bored tone raising an eyebrow, "Oi! Idiot, what made you think trapping me would stop me from teleporting out of there? Diane is right you muscle for brains."

He glared at me coming straight in to charge at me raising his fist. I allowed him to hit me as I used [Flowing Battle] to transfer the blunt damage to the ground.

*Bam*

Seeing me not even flinching or even recognizing his attack Griamore soon realized he was way out of class against me raising his sword to attack me as it was my turn. I slowly pulled my arm back and… forced a palm strike on his exposed gladiator armor.

*BAM*

"Ack!"

*THUD*

A little bit of [Flowing Method] to release a shockwave of Mana. A small hint of [Healing Magic] to soften the blood in the body more vulnerable to attacks. And finally, [Disaster] to make the damage higher than intended internally.

[LEVEL UP!]

And voila the giant fell in one hit!

Veronica's eyes widened and a glint of fear could be seen as she looked at me. I slowly approached and grabbed Elizabeth by the hand as I curtly told the foolish princess in a cold tone, "Let me give you a small piece of advice Veronica. Elizabeth is in safe hands and if you dare pull this stunt again allowing people to be harmed to capture your sister. I will regard you as an enemy and end you."

She felt a chill and I whispered my warning. Veronica nodded loud and clear clenching her fists together as I grabbed Elizabeth leaving the area since we can leave it up to the Sins to clean up –!!

[<Instinct > LEVEL UP!]

[<Instinct > LEVEL UP!]

I felt my skin crawl sensing such a powerful ominous power in the direction of the cage where the rest of the group was trapped. But that wasn't all it seems like Meliodas used his demon powers more controlled than out rampaging.

*RMBL*

*RMBL*

*CRACK*

Rumbling could be heard and felt from the clash. Soon a loud sound of cracking glass could be heard seeing the cage they were in was destroyed I grinned speaking to Elizabeth and listening, "Seems like the Bossman finished up things on his end. Let's meet up with them inside the tavern. This place has seen enough fights for one day right?"

She meekly nodded her head with Hawk on my side agreeing and commenting about the destruction that was caused, "Tell me about it. The last thing this village needs is another brawl getting out of hand. Come on Shitty Cook you have your duties to fulfill!"

I merely gazed over at Hawk with a deadpan expression in a neutral tone, "That's going to stick, isn't it?"

Hawk merely snorted happily chiming walking beside Elizabeth concerned about something, "Heh. Yup. Welcome to the bandwagon of criminals at this point buddy. Welcome to the dark side we have delicious scraps available."

Rolling my eyes I saw Elizabeth was worried as she spoke to me in a concerned tone, "Sir Mash… do you mean what you said to my sister? That you'll end her…?"

Gazing her eyes meeting mine I answered in a defeated tone to alleviate her concerns nodding, "Sigh… no. I said that to merely let out some steam venting at your sister endangering innocent lives in this. How she blatantly ignores the other lives seeing results just pisses me off."

Elizabeth seems to have calmed down thanking me for the assistance I have given her this far in a thankful tone, "Thank you, sir Mash. I hope you don't hate my sister for this she's a good person at heart."

Sigh… she's way too kind. I simply shrugged seeing how Elizabeth and Emilia could be like each other personality showing their innocence and kindness.

Good grief. Analyzing the area, I can see explosives littered around as I use [Magic Composition Rewriting] all over the land.

No need for anyone to die out of someone's stupidity. Fortunately, I already rewrote Gulia's [Explosion] so there should be no issue with my [Unseen Hands] touching them.

Now the real question is… what's their next move?

Sensing Meliodas Mana I can sense his in control of his power. No matter how ominous or powerfully foul his Mana is he remains in control of his emotions. Although I wonder what the bad guys will think of this development… I suppose.
