17 The samurai

A strong battle intent washed over the body of the samurai. Without waiting for a response he had grabbed his katana and got into a battle stance. "Over the years many people have tried to pass me and disturb my peaceful life into this tower. Its been years since I went on a battlefield yet you young one aren't ready to face me."

The man said while he looked towards the duo of a human boy and beast cub. 'Just what is this man doing here?' Jiyu would have never expected to see a samurai in this tower no less fighting it. "Kori make me something sharp and quickly please" and just an instant later a dagger made out of ice appeared in his right hand.

And just on time since the samurai moved from his place and slashed his katana toward him. Barely blocking it with the ice dagger he was sent flying. His body stopped after a meter of flying and he stood up while thinking the man before him was a monster. Just with his physical strength, he sent him flying.

"You have potential but you are too young to face someone that has been on the battlefield," the man said with pity towards his enemy. Alas, the man hoped the boy would back down and live yet the look on his face spoke a thousand words. Jiyu still wished to battle and without a single thought, he walked towards the samurai before disappearing, a single second later Jiyu slashed his dagger towards the neck of the samurai.

Without any effort, his strike was blocked. Like that a series of exchanges happened the sound of weapon clashing were heard. It was a battle that would shock the ordinary human. The speed at which those two moved was on a whole other level. Eventually, the samurai started to get tired while he puked a little blood and just an instant later he was on his knees.

"So the injuries caught up huh," he said looking towards his body with pity. 'This samurai was injured yet he could push me to my limits?' With sweat on his face and heavy breathing, the boy stood before the samurai who looked him into his eyes not afraid of what was to come. "Young one as you may have understood I was internally injured.

I have stood on many battlefields and when I was injured I decided to retire to this tower wishing to die in battle. Thank you for granting my wish" the samurai said while he closed his eyes and grabbed his katana. His hand extended towards his previous enemy his katana laid in it while the only words he said were, "take it it doesn't belong with me anymore let it see the battlefield once more."

"I will," Jiyu said while grabbing hold of the katana not knowing if he would use it or not. But how could he refuse a wish of such an honorable warrior. When he had taken the katana the samurai smiled while his body took its last breath. "He actually died on his knees," Jiyu said with shock. the body of the samurai was in the same position as it had been previously while sipping tea.

Cracking noises were heard while the door to the next level opened.

After paying his respects to the warrior he stepped through the door with conflicted feelings. Would all the levels be this hard? Would he have to dirty his hands with human blood. Taking the life of a human was different it wanst like an animal with a human you feel it.

How his body goes cold the life that drains from the eyes and the body that grows cold. It was a sight not many could get used to. Since Jiyu hasn't killed anyone yet this was his first-time death happened so close to him. He hadn't technically killed the samurai but he felt like he did. Putting it to the back of his mind he looked around himself.

A room that was as dark as the night while he heard a computer voice,

"this room is filled with dangerous traps. It's your task to get out of this room while not dying."

Well, that sounded rather depressing but the task this time was rather easy. He just had to move through this room without dying.
