14 Naming

A beautiful calm night with the starry sky above him Jiyu was sitting on the deck. Watching the waves hit the boat as it moved on towards wherever they were going. Deep in thought, he kept watching. He felt proud in the past about what he achieved being praised by his family for being the most talented zoldyck.

Yet he realized in the fight with the Hydra that he was lucky. Even if he is so talented in his own family. It didn't mean anything outside of it. This world is vast and many strong forces resided in it. Pride would only make his death come sooner. When one's pride is too big that they get arrogant they have the change of offending those that shouldn't be offended. With a sigh, Jiyu accepted that his previous pride should disappear.

When he wanted to stand up and rest once more he heard footsteps behind him. Turning his body he saw the man that was responsible for throwing him into the forest for 3 days. "Hello, uncle" Jiyu said respectfully towards the figure that was respected by countless people. 'he has the right to be prideful' Jiyu inwardly thought.

With Gon sitting beside him they watched the sea a force of nature that was truly impressive. "What we're thinking about just now" Gon had seen his nephew sitting in deep thought and after some consideration, he decided to join in. To see if the boy had to get something off his chest. At first, when Gon asked that question Jiyu seemed not sure if he should speak out his thoughts. But alas he did he spoke to Gon about how he felt.

"So that is why I saw you sitting here deep in thought. If I would be honest I can't say I went through the same as you in my younger years. But if I'm honest you shouldn't let it bother you so much. You have realized that you were in the wrong so you should accept your fault.

Growing up is a learning progress you are still a kid so just keep exploring. Keep learning more and more. But for now, go rest trust me tomorrow is a tough day" Gon said with a smile.

Like that Jiyu went to his room where the cub laid with his eyes fixated towards the boy who came into his room. With care Jiyu stroke his hand through the fur of the bear who seemed to like this. "I still haven't named you did I," Jiyu said with care in his voice. It was true he didn't plan on naming the cub since he would leave him after a couple of days on the island.

But right now it was different he had taken the cub with him as his beast companion. As soon as the cub heard that he would named his eyes were shining with excitement. "So what should I name you? White since your fur color is white?"

as soon as that name was heard the cub was growling. Indicating that the name he just heard wasn't something he liked. "Well I guess that isn't what you had in mind," Jiyu said with a laugh. This scene continued for hours since Jiyu just couldn't find the right name for the little cub. "Well since you are an ice bear cub I think this would be most fitting for you" with interest the cub looked at Jiyu and then he said it. "Kori no o (king of ice) that will be your name little one. Kori for short."

As soon as that name was heard by the little cub nodded it's head excited. It liked the idea of being a king of ice "well that was tiring" Jiyu said for the past few hours he had been trying to find a fitting name for the cub. The rest that Gon spoke off wasn't something Jiyu got this night. When he finally named the cub and put his head to rest and sank in a deep sleep he heard the announcer.

"Will all participants please come to the dining room" annoyed that his sleep was interrupted he got out of bed and put on a simple black t-shirt with black sweat pants. His shoes were simple black sneakers and to finish it off he grabbed the cub that was peacefully sleeping. And annoyed he put it on his head and started to walk towards the dining room.

At first, he wanted to be in his best physical state possible for the next part of the exam. Yet the cub that was sleeping peacefully on his head kept him up all night, not being satisfied by the names he could get.

When Jiyu got to the dining room he saw all participants standing there and on a stage before him stood his uncle. Wondering what the exam would he looked around. The previous hundreds of participants were no longer there. Instead, just around 50 people were standing here.

'The forest did indeed weed out the weak' is all that Jiyu thought before looking towards the stage once more.
